This day and age paying the price they want for PPV promotion companies owe it to the fans to put together spectacular cards. This one is very entertaining. I'm curious on how Broner does coming off a loss.
There were a lot of factors why this fight never happened. As of now Pacquiao has till the end of the year with Top Rank and then is a so called "Free Agent". It should get done in Sept of 2015.
This will be a possible fight of the year candidate. Would love to see it in Las Vegas the week after the Mayweather fight in September. Can't see Canelo wanting to do it in NYC and Texas isn't big enough of a stage for it.
It would be great to see the 49th on CBS but there are a lot of mouths that need to be fed. CBS would be looking at close to $100 million guarantee and I do see them selling that much advertisement. Mayweather isn't main stream marketing.
I believe this era of boxing is the same as all the rest. This is a mass media era where every boxer is shown all of the time. If you had the same coverage back in the 70's, 80's and 90's it would all be the same. We only had HBO Boxing, USA Tuesday Night Fights and Wide World of Sports, the rest was just rumors or articles in magazines or newspapers. Saying that, we would just read if a guy won, no one knew how good they looked.
Mayweather is a very detail orientated person that is for sure. He is in control of everything Mayweather related. Its an incredible brand that's for sure.
