Brook should be begging Hearn to send him over to the states to fight Thurman. I was very confident in Brook winning that fight before this but even more so now.
I just think there is a certain inefficiency to the way he fights. If he was to fight Porter he'd have to clinch as Porter will fall right on top of him
Yeah he won clear enough but he should have been more dominant, he is being highly hyped so he didn't quite match the high expectations even though it was overall a pretty good performance.
Fair comment.
I'd like to see that Porter fight next to see how deals with the pressure. I got him beating Porter in an 8-4 type of fight, with Porter outworking him in some rounds. Although Porter's a better fighter than Collazo, he's not as crafty and more reckless, Thurman could land big on him.
It's a great fight though, I rate Porter higher than most people on here. Amazing how everyone turned on him after he lost to Brook, who's another quality fighter.

He is lacking ring generalmanship. He doesnt control his opponents well enough in my opinion. If he could really develop a consistent jab and learn to control his opponents movements better I think we would see a much better fighter.
As it is he is still very good. He has all the natural tools
He's already said clinching is a last resort, you rarely see him clinch. I'd like it to stay that way tbh, clinching shouldn't be encouraged, you can do it when you're hurt or need to catch your breath, but not everytime somebody gets close to you.
Honestly other than the body shot, I don't think he looked uncomfortable at any stage last night, I mean he wasn't at his best, but he wasn't really troubled either. He started picking up the pace in round 6 and especially 7, he was really starting to beat Collazo up.

Sure but he doesn't look confident that he can defend without moving his feet, he is going to really tire himself out against better pressure fighters unless he develops his defence, and/or dare I say start clinching, especially as he ages.

He uses his feet whenever somebody applies pressure and gets in close, Keith can't fight in the pocket so he has to keep his distance and fight either at mid range or on the outside.

The fight proved to be more competitive than many thought, maybe a younger Collazo would have tried to continue but this is what happens when fighters get old, they are not willing (or able) to go that extra mile to win a fight. I like watching Thurman fight and he is damn good in many ways but he does do too much running, I just don't think he is very good defensively unless he is using his feet and therefore he uses a lot of movement. I think his sloppy hand placement and how open he usually leaves himself when he punches will get him badly hurt against an elite fighter with a punch.

My god that was a vicious shot. Keith will be pissing blood for a few days lol.
That wasn't a short hook on the inside with his lead hand, it was his stronger hand and he sat down on the punch, he couldn't have placed it any better either. That would have knocked many fighters down and out.
Man, it's incredibly pathetic, childish ****e. We're getting good boxing fights between the top guys in boxing, and we're getting them for free but you have little girls *****ing and moaning for no other reason than his business relationship with Floyd.
You're getting boxing for free you ****ing chump muppets! You wanna go pay Arum $50 or $60 for a fight of this caliber? Go ahead, but meanwhile I'd like to keep watching fights for free and I really, really, really hope PBC comes off and does well, because it just means great things for us fans. I don't give a flying **** about promoters and managers and all the simple minded idiocy you people are obsessed about. I just wanna watch boxing and I'd like to see good, free boxing more than anything as a fan and that's what PBC is providing. Grow the **** up cunts and get over yourselves you childish little girls.
The fact that any boxing fan could possibly want this to fail and not work out is unfathomable and very frustrating. The more people want it to fail, the more money we are going to have to keep paying to see good fights.
This only benefits us. Arum cares not about us, he cares about keeping ****loads of money rolling in from us. He couldn't care less about the public.
Look at the baby girl getting all emo because some people don't have the time to waste on cheap public access tv. If you got your baby girl head out of Haymon's ass you'd see this card was garbage.
I was critical of Thurman before, but unlike the emotions trending nsb right now, I thought Thurman looked good for the most part....specifically his balance. He's also picking his shots well and he's even looking better built for the weight with each passing fight.
When he got hit with that left, he made some bad decisions. I also don't like the way he can easily be backed up as soon as a guy is able to take his power, it's not a good look.
I still remain his power was overrated (he does have pop), but he's a good fighter.
Thurman is held to ridiculously high standards on here.
Lets cut through the BS extreme fans of Khan, Brook, Porter, Maidana etc are just looking for any little flaw to put him down. They know how much of a threat he is to their favourites.
I haven't watched it yet, I think I will watch the replay today just to see how bad was Thurman. I expected an easy win, too, however I already wrote here and on boxingscene that Thurman is not ready for the top guys yet. Yes I like him but Floyd and even Manny would counter him to death. I don't know how shut is Manny but his timing is underrated though he showed it even in his last fight, while Thurman is taking long time from planting his feet to punch, isn't quick enough and is giving too big time windows when loading up on his punches too much and he did it all the time agains Guerrero. He always has a punchers chance and is athletic, but other than that is nothing special, aaand his chin isn't fully proven yet. It's been a long time I'm telling Brook is a much more difficult guy to deal with.
People are really going over the top lol, like kiaba said, other than land a very good body shot, Collazo did nothing. Thurman destroyed him the round before he quit, it was only a matter of time before it got nasty.
As for the Khan thing, yes Khan beat him more comfortably but bear in mind the game plan they used, Khan clinched excessively, Thurman used his feat.
I want Thurman vs Porter next or Thurman vs Danny.
People are acting really f*cking stupid.

Completely agree.
I read a few comments on here *****ing and moaning aboit the Thurman fight so was expecting a sh*tfest of a fight. Just watched it now on youtube and i thought it was perfectly good. Collazo did better than expected and gave us some drama with that huge body shot, Thurman looked ok bjt not his best.
It was a fun fight between WW contender and a faded former champ. Ending was sh*t but hey, stuff like that happens in boxing. Just last night Flanagan Zapeda fight ended on a dislocated shoulder un the second round
People get way too emotional when they are talking about PBC
