a true boxing fans is not obsessed with one particular fighter, its also fine to be a fan of a fellow countrymen but if you can be fair.
Example:
When felix trinidad fought bernard hopkins i hated hopkins because of his big mouth. I wanted tito to ko him bad.
As i watched the fight i was won over by the method, professionalism, and the art of boxing and strategy hopkins was using against tito. Thats a boxing fan.
If you have ever watched floyd mayweather box and take an opponent apart in slow motion and appreciate it..your a boxing fan
basically to be able to appreciate the art and science of boxing.
Honor, warriors, gifted fighters, brawlers, taking on all comers, knockout artists, incredible heart fighters...if you appreciate all aspects...your a boxing fan.
The only thing that disgraces you are fighters who disgrace the sport. Basically cheaters, ped users, cherry picking, etc.
One can understand the money and politics of boxing but no need to agree with it as if the money is being placed in your pocket, you see it for what it is....thats a boxing fan.
agree with you.
:kiss:Good post and I agree most of the part what you said but one thing is bothering me. In my opinion, if someone was so great in the past...somewhere along the way someone will be born and possible will be greater than this man but the problem it is almost impossible to prove other than take a cue from others opinion. Which it has many flaws around it. I think the best way is we should look into other sports to determine the greats of the past if someone can be greater than them in this era. In other sports like the Olympic, past great world records were shattered by athletes in this era. If that were possible boxing should be no different regardless of what any reasons.
i agree with you.
Koki Kameda!!!
but seriously, i love the guy! hes the floyd mayweather of japan. he acts just like floyd does here. the thing is, its worse because in japan the way he acts is just unacceptable under the rules of society.
but the guy has skills, a mouth and hes huge. u guys should check out his fights. he'll give most of the top bantamweights a run for their money.
bantamweight is such a deep as division, its scary.
i donot think so. hes a rabbite.
very true......
maybe some people are just turned off by the black and white videos but not me.....I love watching old fights in black and white.....
it's interesting.
Wow,u could tell from that video he would be a special video, hes throwing hurtful combos, attacking, foot movement is great, counter punching is crazy,Floyd was a beast in the lower weights
i dont think so.
I cant help but notice that Floyd is winning over many fans Heart now..Even in Boxing scene there used to be many floyd haters..but now its all decreasing...It seems that All the americans are getting behind him like he asked for, instead of supporting a Foreigner like pacquiao.
Your Views?
certainly
how great he is!
floyd keeps on saying he has a perfect record.
But does he really have a perfect record?
Or a flawed perfect record?
Watching floyd vs castillo 1, you can see who won in that fight really.

if you watch this link @ 2:59 leddermans scorecard 115-111 for castillo
7 rounds castillo, 4 rounds mayweather and 1 even.
A lot of booing in the post fight
jim lampley says " not the fight we saw" after the announcement that floyd won. Stating how it should have been castillo.@ 4:18.
Compubox numbers @ 4:37
landed: 203 for castillo
157 for floyd

larry merchant says to floyd a lot of people here think he (castillo) won the fight, that he should get a rematch.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0rmbg5k_l4&feature=related
@ 0:47
larry merchant goes," i don't think there is much controversy. I think most people thought castillo won."
@ 1:06
larry merchant goes, "arum and i believe that castillo won the fight."
knowing that castillo was robbed, mayweather has a questionable perfect record. Should have had a loss.
He keeps on bragging he has a perfect record when clearly he should have a loss in his record against castillo.
So the saying should go, 41 had tried 1 has succeeded that is castillo. The first to beat mayweather.
He keeps on yapping he has a perfect record when we all know it is blemished. It is not how perfect your record is. It is how good your opponent and challenges that you face. All the legends had a defeat in their career, it doesn't , make them a lesser man.
But if a yapper keeps on bragging a questionable perfect record.. It just shows how insecure he is about his ability.
were you the referee?
Wazaa i recommend you watch a few of Ray Robinsons fights......cause you are fukking delusional
go to youtube and watch Robinson's fights with Lamotta, Basillio, Turpin and Fullmer
than come back here and tell us what you think
A GOOD IDEA.I NEED TO DO THAT.
Floyd is a funny guy thinking he's the greatest ever when he's not even the greatest in a decade....LOL at talking about he's the greatest ever.
he is the best one.
Just because Bradley has been fighting who has been put in front of him by his promoter doesn't make him this throw back warrior that you guys are making him out to be. Peterson was a green prospect. Campell barely beat Funeka. Holt has just lost his last fight to some unknown South African. Cherry doesn't even deserve to be mentioned as a good win. The win over Urango alone makes Alexander's resume on par with Bradley's.
I think so.
Okay, so people don't think he's as skilled as the other guys on the list. Fair enough. But no matter how skilled you are, you have to have something to show for it.
how to display your power is more important than which you have.:boxing:
Manny Pacquiao knocked out Miguel Cotto
Manny Pacquiao knocked out Ricky Hatton
Manny Pacquiao made Oscar quit
Where have you seen Floyd Mayweather go out an use his offense to put on a great performance? Just because you make guys run into your potshot doesn't mean you have a better offense.
The difference between Mayweather and Pacquiao is that Manny creates his own offense. Mayweather waits until you punch yourself out. Mayweather did a little bit in this sense against Mosley but come on now that was a shell of the "old" Mosley....and the "old" Mosley had no defense to begin with
Nobody praises Mayweather for bringing up his power, they praise and praise Manny for his power punching.
Just because you land 100 out of the 300 punches you throw doesn't mean you have great offense. If Mayweather's offense is so great than why doesn't he throw more? Why doesn't he go for the knockout? Is he just a talented coward?
If you think he's just playing it safe, then why does he complain that the American public doesn't support him? He danced around Ricky Hatton for 10 or 11 rounds, he danced around with Oscar, he was on the bike the whole fight against Baldomir.. Do you have any idea how much of a star Mayweather would be if he stopped all those guys like Pacquiao stopped his opponents? Plus, he supposedly has better offense than Manny, so it should be easier to stop all these guys.
I just don't get it. How does Mayweahter have better offense when Manny stops more opponents? It's like saying Whitaker had better offense than Oscar de La Hoya...Why did Pernell run the whole time then?
It's Floyd not Pac who is the best fighter in the world.
:lurk:
you talking like you don't understand Boxing my dude, honestly man. Mayweather has a better offense and defense than Pacquiao because he's able to get hit less in return. Pacquiao doesn't fight smart he fights brutal and reckless at times he just throws so much that nobody can make him pay, Marquez and Morales showed how to beat Pacquiao which is with short, HARD counterpunches to neutralize his offense and good ring movement, this is a fight plan which is something that must be created based on each individual fighter.
there is a reason Floyd banged out and came forward with Gatti (R.I.P) and didn't do it with no one else until the Mosley fight, this is because for every different fighter you face you're supposed to build a fight plan for them specifically, his base style is defensive and he's the best at that but what makes him better than Pacquiao offensively is when he throws at you it's a lot harder for you to catch him flush with a counter than it is with anyone else, even threw his offense he manages to defend, Marquez ROCKED the shit out of Pacquiao in both fights due to counters yet when he tried that with Floyd he couldn't find him.
it's also about fighter approach, as I said above Mayweather is defense first, ofense second and Pacquiao is offense first and offense 2nd, he is all offense because even when losing all you see is him coming forward banging away. his being offensive minded makes it so that his fight plans are built solely off offense hence his quicker finishes, that's cool but imagine when he faces someone with the lateral skills to make him miss and counter him and with good leg movement, someone who will hit him back hard each and every time he makes a mistake the way Joshua Clottey didn't, someone who doesn't make the mistake of banging away with Pacquiao or being TOO defensive against him, Floyd can do ALL of that and that's why he's better both offensively and defensively over Pacquiao
I agree with your opinion.
Manny's offense, although I agree is good, is catered to immobile guys that can't slip away. Good luck trying that shit on Mayweather. Dude's gonna be missing all nite and countered to death.

I think so.
Paris looks lazy, like he doesn't train all the way. He has the speed, reflexes, defense, but no stamina. He looked chunky or thick at the beginning and I thought there might be an issue with stamina.
one who has talence is always lazy.
I think Angulo and Kirkland both would beat this guy easily. Especially the Kirkland that fought Julio. I'm not Euro hating, I just don't think this guy is the cream of the crop.
i have the same idea.
I hope Paul goes back to 160 and stays there.
He will kill himself making 147, and even at 154 he didn't look as good.
160 is good for him.
Paul should go back to 160!:lurk:
