i like floyd a little bit more than paquiao.
IMHO both are responsible for fighting that late in their careers and i do think floyd won their fight.
having said that i dont see floyd wining against.
leonard, duran and specially the hitman (not going to mention haggler here, there is no point) So just there hes not even top 3 in my book.
i dont know about the other olden names but i do think there are probably 2 more better than floyd.
so top 5 NO from me, top 10? maybe (because of my lack of knowledge of older boxers)
now about margarito? (and im mexican) i think margarito has no right to be at welter he was just a cadaver eating his own weight just to compete at lower weights.
About mosley? the guys is a cheat, suddenly he received a second wind of air and no body question it? knowing he was a cheater
so i dont think mayweather avoided margarito or mosley.
He believed his own hype , got too big for his boots. Thought he could just show up and blast everyone out. Think he cut corners on training towards the end too, just like McClellan did prior to the benn fight.
Once barrera beat him he had lost his confidence and didnt have the hunger to be a contender again
this is what makes me think would loose to the other 3.
im not going to debate about skills and such but i do think the other 3 have more heart and that would give them a big edge in winning .
Throughout Pac's career, he has pretty much picked who to fight, where and when -
Usually after a guy has been put through the ringer with other guys.
Been on a layoff for an injury.
Asked for a 100 % no cut off date.
Demanded a guy come down to a div they haven't in to in years.
Pick the lamest guy in a div so he can claim a title.
Fredreeka says ''6 knockdowns'' as if that's supposed to be impressive. Yes, it's impressive that he couldn't end JMM.
3 knockdowns int he 1st rd of their 1st fight and Pac almost lost
Had JMM down, cut and hurt in their last fight and how did that end up for Pac ?
These Pacbois are really giving boxing a bad name.
i dont like hating on paquiao but you do have a point.
paquiao resume is filled with opportunistic fights.
i do give him a lot of credit for the first MAB fight.
Marquez was great but has a salty ass personality
Lost to
Pacquiao
Bradley
Mayweather
well he did had a case against paquiao in the third fight i honestly dont see how paquiao won that one.
against mayweather he lost clearly and against bradley he also lost, IMO.
Marquez is overrated. Only relevant due to the KO over Pacquiao which you can actually attribute about 50% to Pacquiao’s own mistake and aggression.
taking advantage of your opponent mistake is not overrated.
that's having boxing iq.
or how do you expect a boxer to win?
It’s true. Wilder gave him a lifeline and an easy path back to the top.
Fury would’ve had to beat a few contenders to climb his way back up but Wilder threw a lifeline on a platter wrapped in generational wealth at the expense of his own career.
I’d call it the biggest mistake in boxing history.
or what everyone would call it.
a cherrypick gone wrong
i see that no one has a real answer, and no one will.
even when canelo got hurt , he stood there in the center, and on one ocasion on another round when GGG was backpedaling , canelo , told him to come to the center.
Sugar Ray Robinson did fight a lot of fighters who didnt belong in the ring with him and never faced the best black fighters of his time..only fought a washed up Aaron "Tiger" Wade....no charley burley, ezzard charles, cocoa kid, bert lytell, holman williams, lloyd marshall etc....Robinson fought between 147-160 through out the forties and fought none of them
the golden age fighters did not always fight the best....no fighter in history fought every good or great fighter close to their size, its not possible
I can't believe i'm posting on this thread but oh well.
Duran, SRL, Hearns and haggler, fought the best at their weight even among them selves.
What good is a 0 when a fighter on a different era could have take that from you?
Hearns would decapitate mayweather if a single right hand landed and it would have If mosley landed it Hearns would have easier and that would be GN floyd
SRL was more charismatic in his time so that means that if it went to a decision SRL wins, and SRL has more POP in his fists than mayweather so how could mayweather win?
Duran WAS better version of paquiao yes i said that, so the pressure would have been much much worst than maidana.
The marvelous? well he was a middleweight not even going to say anything, although some NUTS HERE have posted that mayweather could have won, talk about a man crush lmao.
I say this because mayweather is NOT TBE just because he has a 0 PERIOD
And BTW I do like Mayweather he is one of my favorite "boxers" but he is not TBE
Sorry but it's true.
Chavez doesn't like canelo that much, because canelo steals the spotlight from his low skilled son.
WE here in mexico knows this.
Marques DID had a feud with canelo a long time ago, it was all over the radio.
Canelo WON and that's it.
He didn't won like many people wanted him to win, that's why all the criticism.
We all know Mayweather will never acknowledge Castillo or Oscar.
Mayweather had to give everything he got to defeat them both.
How are not those fights his toughest?
vs Castillo, he had to give 100%
Vs Os car he had to give MORE Because Oscar was the man to beat and Mayweather had to win clean and Clear, to take the decision.
How is not this his toughest fight?
Is pure logic.
But like mayweather , many people here are delusional.
Cotto giving him his toughest fight? sure right.
Castillo and Oscar says hi.
i posted this because, people here have been saying that hollifield backs paquiao on winning the fight.
I'm not much of a mayweather fan, but it's clear hollyfield has an agenda in backing paquiao.
Now these 4 boxers have nothing to gain from it. and they all admitted paquiao lost.
Even chavez sr. who was rooting all the way for paquiao.
Your god was supposed to engage with that KILLER INSTINCT OF HIS.
Or did MARQUEZ destroyed that.
Mayweather being trashed by "fans" on his fights is not news.
But you wiuld know this if you were a true boxing fan.
sorry but the mexican fav four, didn't knew that paquiao had an injury and they didn't said paquiao won.
They did said that the 110-118 was wrong and the other 2 scores were about right.
They didn't claim paquiao got schooled big time, but they did said paquiao lost.
Of course many people that are BROKE or POOR will say that paquiao won, because they want a rematch to have a slice of that pie AGAIN.
Boxing is dead even in Mexico.
when i say dead is comparing it to the 70-80-00 decade.
When you have 2 of the 4 countries that have given most of the famous-entertaining boxers in the world (for the casual and knowledgeable fan)
not producing more fighters , then something is wrong.
Mexico,Puerto rico,U.S.A and England
Compared to soccer, boxing is nothing in Mexico.
IMHO i blame
.-Bob arum, for marketing paquiao as a monster that would destroy mayweather.
.- Roach for saying paquiao would ko or destroy mayweather and didn't train him for that
The networks for hyping to much paquiao and selling a monster boxer that destroys fighters.
I don't blame paquiao for believing his own hype , because it happens to every hyped product. (but i do blame him for not accepting defeat as a gentleman)
And i don't blame mayweather because he has been fighting like this since i remember. and everyone that watches boxing should know this
IMHO margarito's wins will always be tainted.
Just like
Trinidad's
Mosley's
etc etc.
So i would say Bradley has a better resume.
Unless he's found guilty of cheating
IMHO he's rican because he claims it. (lately)
BUT
He's not rican like Trinidad,Camacho,Wilfredo etc etc.
Those guys were rican since they breathed air.
I can bet that if Garcia wasn't a boxer and applied for a job he woudn't claim that he was rican. ( he just wants the ppv from P.R. he knows cotto is not going to last a a lot in boxing so he wants to be the next rican star)
I'm from Mexico and it's the same with some boxers born in the usa.
Yes they are mexican-american, but some of them claim that when it suits them.
I don't care about luis miguel, but that case is different
Luis miguel since birth his parents claimed he was mexican.
i even dare to say that some harcore ricans here will agree with me.
Garcia saying he's rican feels forced.
I love boxing and never hang to nationalities or races.
But even i can say Garcia is not rican as Wilfredo gomez, macho camacho, etc etc etc etc.
It feels forced!
i'm no ones alter, but i knew that i was going to be accused of that so in order to not argue with some "type" of fans. I accept being An alter's alter.
And it's a serious question.
All the time i have been lurking these forums (and other sites as well)
Paquiao fans always have a "Good" excuse for any of his looses
what triggered me to post this is a thread about Paquiao selling the fight (loosing on purpose, in case some Type of fans , don't know the term)
Remember this? i posted more than one year ago
People accused me of being an alter, and all, but i'm just a lurker that reads this site.
And i still defend my point
Is paquiao undefeated? i mean HE or his FANS always has found an excuse for his losses.
So the question is
is paquiao undefeated to his fans or even himself?
I'm not saying he's undefeated my self.
what I'm saying that according to his fans or even himself.
He's undefeated because every time he looses THERE IS ALWAYS AN EXCUSE.
He lost to mayweather fair and square and now he claims an injury. and that is an excuse.
His fans also always find an excuse.
ohhh
I'm an alters, alter that i created on 2011 and never posted and i just used it today for this special post :thinkerg:
The main alter got ashamed of the post and didn't wanted to ask.
So here's again
Really think about it, to "most" of paquiao fans he's undefeated.
Not one of his looses is legit.
and some of them are already making a conspiracy about paquiao selling the fight and loosing to mayweather.
Like i said it's an honest question
I'm Mexican and live in
Mexico.
Like in every country we have the People that loves boxing and the casuals that like boxing.
Here is an example
Casual liked JCC and watch his fights, but when he faced Whitaker or Meldrick And saw JCC struggled against them, the first thing they said was "MMMM hes getting old and he's not good anymore" i mean Really? these casual people didn't even knew the skills and boxing this guys had.
The knowledgeable people that knew who they were, knows that JCC lost against Sweet pea, and (TO ME ) He won fair and square (while he was loosing by points) To Meldrick Taylor.
Now i'll say this to my Fellow Mexicans that live in USA.
They are still Mexicans but that doesn't mean we have teh same tastes in Boxing or anything else, we share the culture but at the same time we are different.
To answer the question.
Yes We like Paquiao, even if he defeated many Mexicans on the way, whenever he shows on tv in Mexico we have always like him.
But at the same time we like the boxing skills of Mayweather (but not his persona, We are not moved by Hip-Hop or his money, ww just don't ****ing care about that)
Why do you think Mayweather uses our holidays to sell his PPV? why not use Martin's holiday or any other USA Holiday?
Why ? well because he knows that many IF NOT most of his fans are Latino and will buy his PPV.
So to answer the question
In Mexico MOST of the casuals will support Paquiao (the same people that leaves a fighter dry when they loose)
And MOST of the boxing fans will support Mayweather, yes the same ones that buy his PPW.
ohh and BTW in Mexico we don't listen to hip-hop and have African-Americans showing their money as idols
never had never will.
We just enjoy boxing as casuals and hardcore.
Ohh and for the record.
The hardcore boxing fans doesn't see JCC as the greatest boxer
They see Salvador Sanchez as the greatest
like i said un my thread before.
PaC is undefeated in most of his fans eyes
he was malnourished vs torre campo
green ,wrong gloves and socks vs morales
and ktfo vs a steroid user un marqués.
so here,s my question again
is paquiao undefeated?
