Between these two fighters, which side are they on mostly (if they had to choose)?
Do they still hate Pacquiao because of the whole Marquez rivalry, Morales fights, etc or have they moved on to embrace Pacquiao?
Or are they more fans of Mayweather?

Here in south america, there is not a big fan base of boxing (in contrast to argentina probably), but i think the people only recognize the figure of pacquiao, like the face of this sport. In places where boxing dont generate too much interest, the excitement that brings a fighter becomes the first thing that people appreciate and support.
Greetings from Chile.
Argentina is in SA and thus a part of it, comon Chileno, stop making us south americans look bad. This is what i'm talking about right here.

I said Clottey fight. My friend was there he works at the airport and said it was 90 percent Mexican he didn't even really see too many Filipinos. He is mexican by the way.
It seems like you don't want to accept that Pacmans main fanbase has always been Mexican? Floyd never got the type of Mexican following that Pacman had before they both fought Oscar.
Floyd when he fought Castillo couldn't even sell out mgm grand.
Mexicans are the ones who really follow boxing.
That's cute, I live in Arlington. I'm Hispanic, I wasn't at the airport, I was at the fight. Stop making things up
I'm Mexican and live in
Mexico.
Like in every country we have the People that loves boxing and the casuals that like boxing.
Here is an example
Casual liked JCC and watch his fights, but when he faced Whitaker or Meldrick And saw JCC struggled against them, the first thing they said was "MMMM hes getting old and he's not good anymore" i mean Really? these casual people didn't even knew the skills and boxing this guys had.
The knowledgeable people that knew who they were, knows that JCC lost against Sweet pea, and (TO ME ) He won fair and square (while he was loosing by points) To Meldrick Taylor.
Now i'll say this to my Fellow Mexicans that live in USA.
They are still Mexicans but that doesn't mean we have teh same tastes in Boxing or anything else, we share the culture but at the same time we are different.
To answer the question.
Yes We like Paquiao, even if he defeated many Mexicans on the way, whenever he shows on tv in Mexico we have always like him.
But at the same time we like the boxing skills of Mayweather (but not his persona, We are not moved by Hip-Hop or his money, ww just don't ****ing care about that)
Why do you think Mayweather uses our holidays to sell his PPV? why not use Martin's holiday or any other USA Holiday?
Why ? well because he knows that many IF NOT most of his fans are Latino and will buy his PPV.
So to answer the question
In Mexico MOST of the casuals will support Paquiao (the same people that leaves a fighter dry when they loose)
And MOST of the boxing fans will support Mayweather, yes the same ones that buy his PPW.
ohh and BTW in Mexico we don't listen to hip-hop and have African-Americans showing their money as idols
never had never will.
We just enjoy boxing as casuals and hardcore.
Ohh and for the record.
The hardcore boxing fans doesn't see JCC as the greatest boxer
They see Salvador Sanchez as the greatest

On that post? I just quoted that for being the most asburd thing in this thread. Filipinos are nothing like Hispanics, his opinion is his own from his own experiences but don't pass it off as fact.
I'm hispanic and spent time in the Philippines, judging from my time there I would say that they qualify as Hispanics. I found that their culture has a lot of similarities to mine. Very warm people.
What you are trying to do is start some mexican vs filipino issues to get attention off the fact that floyd still ducking.
This....end of thread!
C'mon now stop lying to yourself. Where do you get this nonesense from??? Is it wishful thinking??? Everybody knows that Pacs hardcore fans are of course filipinos and his biggest fanbase are filipinos. Anyone who thinks Pac has more Mexican fans than filipinos is clearly delusional.
He's actually right, when Manny was unknown, me and countless Mexican friends of mine who were in to boxing at the time all loved Pacquiao and wanted to be like him. Then he exploded internationally and brought casual and ignorant fans to the sport, and I quickly started rooting for him to lose, and have ever since. But his hardcore fanbase was first Mexican Mexican/american because as he just said, his fighting style was exciting.

Personally, as a hispanic, I have always watched Mayweather the most as I consider him the best in the sport, and as a boxer I think it's responsible to learn form the best, whether you like them or not, or share the same color of skin, none of that matters to anyone intelligent.
I like JMM because he's one of the best counter punchers and combination punchers of recent history, I would hold that same sentiment if he was from anywhere in the world.
The real objective fans like myself who can't stand Manny's fans have that sentiment because most of his fans are ignorant and trolls, not because they are Filipino.
OP, the day you stop walking through like with that mentality that everything has to be categorized racially or by ethnicity you will get farther in life.

Colonization history aside, just stop. Filipinos are not hispanics just like Spanish people aren't hispanics though hey conquered latin america.
And the OP is clearly trolling, only an ignorant uneducated person groups a whole demographic together as if they can't think individually.
Like most boxing fans in general, the more educated Mexican boxing fans appreciate Floyd's skills more and the causal Mexican fans who don't know shit about the sweet science enjoy Pacquiao more.
Both are atg once in a generation type of fighters that have accomplished things other atg's would only dream of. Saying that how and when did appreciating Floyd>PAC become the right answer? It'd be different if you said casual Mexican fans don't know ***** because they call him a runner and don't appreciate how skilled he is instead of saying you automatically have to appreciate Floyd over PAC otherwise your an idiot.
The truth is everyone has different preferences it doesn't indicate they are less knowledgeable than others . What you said is almost as stupid as saying if you prefer a Camaro over a Challenger you don't know ***** about American muscle cars.
Definitely not around my way(do they support Pac). Maybe in the West Coast. I think the East Coast supports Mayweather, but I can only speak for NYC.
There exceptions of course, like everything else.

Stop lying. his fights in Dallas weren't Mexicans cheering him on. Arlington has a large Asian population and they shut the city down when he came in town. Hell, Mexicans and Asians were fighting all throughout the Margarito fight. You think what you want but don't spew bs when you weren't at your fights young sir
I said Clottey fight. My friend was there he works at the airport and said it was 90 percent Mexican he didn't even really see too many Filipinos. He is mexican by the way.

Mexicans tend to side with Pac because of his fighting style and willingness to fight anybody. Mexicans don't care about the money or drug tests, they just want to see the damn fights.
Personally i'm not a fan of either and wish they'd both retire so we don't have to see their retarded stans spewing bullshit on these boards everyday.
The end is near :boxing:

What does it matter? What kind of question is that? There's no way of knowing.
That's a good outlook lol. Usually I see mexicans siding with whoever looks more like them, not all of them but the less educated boxing "fans"
You can say that about all "fans" and not just when it comes to sports but also in everyday life.
One thing I know for sure is that Mexican's do respect Mayweather. Its like every video of a boxing fan or person I met personally that was Mexican has always shown respect for him which is kind of odd to me. They respect Manny somewhat too unless you start to talk trash about JMM. But I remember not too long ago they hated both of them equally. I remember when HBO gave Manny the title "Mexicutioner" and it pissed a lot of Mexican fans off. This kind of stuff like the flavor of the month sort of thing.
Personally, I can't wait for both of these guys to retire. They both are pulling the same bs in boxing but one guy is more blunt about it and the other is protected by his personality.
