First of all, he didn't. Second of all, he didn't, third of all he is too hittable and landed mainly power jabs. Cotto did worse than Maidana and Pac.
Cotto's defence isn't good enough, he's too stationary, has no upper body/head movement and is too slow for Floyd, he cuts the ring off well though I'd give him that.
There's a very strong anti Pacquiao sentiment on here, because he didn't fight a certain way he doesn't get credit. Truth is Pacquiao put on a defensive masterclass in there and for the most part took away Floyd's right hand, something very hard to do!
Cotto does no better in the rematch. People are swayed with Floyd, the opponent has to do something "fight his fight" throw dozens of punches. You'll never get credit for making Floyd miss and countering him, because he's assumed to win every fight he doesn't get pressured non stop in.
These are the facts!
We all know Mayweather will never acknowledge Castillo or Oscar.
Mayweather had to give everything he got to defeat them both.
How are not those fights his toughest?
vs Castillo, he had to give 100%
Vs Os car he had to give MORE Because Oscar was the man to beat and Mayweather had to win clean and Clear, to take the decision.
How is not this his toughest fight?
Is pure logic.
But like mayweather , many people here are delusional.
Cotto giving him his toughest fight? sure right.
Castillo and Oscar says hi.
what about when maidana knocked out floyds tooth at the end of the round. Floyd looked badly hurt in fact if that was a minute earlier I bet he could have been finished
Watched that clip a bunch of times and I'm almost certain it's not a tooth but yes that was a beautiful shot. A shame it didn't come earlier in the round.
Fact: Pacquiao embarrassed himself against Mayweather and was never competitive. He was about as competitive as Canelo was, and Canelo is just about the greenest fighter Mayweather ever fought. Watch in mute doe
Fact: "Miguel Cotto was my toughest opponent" - Floyd Mayweather, 10 May 2012
Fact: "Manny Pacquiao, you will never be on my level. Period. Simple and Plain" - Floyd Mayweather, 08 May 2015
Beyond buggin. Pac landed clean shots, granted they were few and far between. Canelo basically got shut out from beginning to end.
FACT's are: Floyd did NOT land as effectively as he did against these opponents who supposedly "did better" aka Cotto, Maidana, some even say Guerrero.
FACT: Pacquiao landed more impressive punches than these guys.
These are the facts!
You won't see many other highlights of guys landing the clean flush stanky leg inducing punches Pacquiao landed, whilst he gave Floyd his lowest connect %

Cotto had a good round but gassed out after that round and couldn't continue the pace for the remaining rounds.
Pretty much.
Maidana somehow almost sneaked in a win, on an off day for Mayweather imo. Castillo 1 is 50-50, but I haven't seen it in a long time. Cotto wasn't that competitive, neither was Oscar. They both had 2-3 good rounds max. Hatton was doing better than those guys before the KO.
I actually thought Cotto had a shot at winning that fight after round 8 (I think it was after 8, been a while since I saw that fight)...and then Floyd easily swept the last 4 rounds.
yep Floyd even asked his corner between rounds, was he winning
The guys that did the best vs floyd
1. Castillo 1.
2. Maidana 1
3. Oscar
4. Cotto
Those are the only guys to give floyd a competitive fight for 12 rds...
Oh really funny..... not.
Floyd fans were laughing no matter which round we saw that should have or could have been scored the other way around.
Round 3 is the perfect example of a round where a Floyd fan presented gifs which were laughable compared to Manny's offense from that round.
Those 2 116-112 scored by the judges could have very easily have been 114-114 or 113-115. Vegas judges favored the Vegas fighter.
Keep bargaining bro. You must go through the 5 stage process to cope with your loss.
I'll step aside and give you your space.

Same here. I don't remember my card but I think I had it dead even after 8. Then had Floyd winning 9-12.

Well maybe is the fact that Floyd has to fight the full 3 mins of every round. Most don't admited but Cotto also did very good body work on Floyd
goof point he did and landed some nice shots upstairs to.
Why are you so butthurt about gifts showing great defense and clean punching? Or are you still at stage 3 of your cycle of grief?
Why can't you find a gif more impressive than the one in my sig? Instead (lol) use one that is a partial chest punch.
Why are you guys so proud of those gifs showing how Floyd pushes his "punches"? Or you guys just don't know better?
His gifs show the wool that's been pulled over our eyes.
The first one doesn't even land clean and the second one is alright but Pac looks to have got in his last flurry shot.
Pac's offensive highlights are more impressive!
That is a fact!

False.
Jose Luis Castillo was far and away the only fighter to have a legit argument for beating Floyd. Maidana was the 2nd. Cotto was 3rd. Pac did the same as Guerrero.
Look at it this way, there is a reason that after the Cotto fight Floyd decided he needed to reunite with his father in order to train him. He felt he wasn't sharp against Cotto.
Cotto did have good moments in the fight although Mayweather was trading too much but he did better than pacquiao, Pacquiao only had a few rounds against him in a cagey fight.
Maidana probably did better due to Mayweather cut eye in the first fight.
Top 5 who troubled Floyd for me are;
1. Castillo (i thought he lost)
2. Emmanuel Augustus
3. Jesus Chavez
4. Maidana (due to cut eye)
5. Cotto
So he did better cause mayweathers eye was cut? And barely bleeding... It couldn't of been his hard punching and pinning Floyd up on the ropes. Nope couldn't have been that.
