Why has Mexican boxing gone so downhill?
When JMM retires who have they got?
Leo Santa Cruz looks like he will be cannon fodder if he fights anyone like Frampton or Rigo. I haven't seen any Quigg fights but he looks huge would LSC beat him even?
Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr will struggle to find anyone at all who he can beat at 175 or 168.
Gilberto Ramirez looks to be of similar quality to JCC Jnr.
Canelo seems like the best Mexican at the minute but looks very beatable. I thought the Trout fight was super close, could have gone either way, and the Lara fight I gave to Lara 7-5. Can't see how it could have been scored for Canelo.
Why has Mexican boxing deteriorate so much? Everyone choosing to play football rather than box in Mexico maybe?
Because they (Mexicans) r on steroids!!!! too many getting busted ,and also not making weight. Using plaster of paris!!! Look at this list OF PEDS USAGE- Rios,Salido,Morales,Molina,Chavez jr,Marquez, Mikey Garcia and many more!!! Margarito's plaster!! Not making weight on day of a fight Mikey Garcia vs juanma! Canelo vs Mathew hatton for wbc ww title also did not make weight!! Rios did not make weight in fights a couple of times. Beltran also did not make weight for title fight . this is a turn off for real mex fans. im sorry but guys like Chavez,Ramirez Sanchez,Limon,Zarate,Pintor,Yaqui Lopez,Olivares,Chacon and Cuevas were real fighters never used peds. And always made weight. These guys to me r what made Mex boxing!!! just saying!!!!:sombrero::Thinkingo:lurk:
Boxing is dead even in Mexico.
when i say dead is comparing it to the 70-80-00 decade.
When you have 2 of the 4 countries that have given most of the famous-entertaining boxers in the world (for the casual and knowledgeable fan)
not producing more fighters , then something is wrong.
Mexico,Puerto rico,U.S.A and England
Compared to soccer, boxing is nothing in Mexico.
What do you know how boxing is here in Mexico?
Of course boxing isn't as big as soccer, nothing is. Hit isn't dead. Estrada's fight vs Segura had 13 million views. Alvarez pulls the same numbers as the national soccer team which are on the 30+ million homes.
Omar Figueroa and Frankie Gomez on Saturday! I still like Gilberto Ramirez potential.
Smaller Divisions don't get much attention from even Hardcore Boxing Fans. It is surprising that guys at 122 and 126 are being talked about as much as they are now because usually that is not the case but that is actually a great thing!
But everybody kinda go up and down, they have their ERA, fall off a little then another great fighter emerges

Its because even as a big boxing fan i;m starting to realize everything below welterqweight is ****. Watching midgets hit each other a thousand times, it's getting old. Boxing needs middles and heavies to carry the torch, I'm sorry
Dude u are on some racist Kool aid
I repeat where these slick black fighters?
Mickey bey? Jleon love ? Bdou jack?
Don't bother with this guy bro. He talks about IQ and uses "are" instead of "our" and uses double negatives in a sentence.
He does make some sense though, right now the style of Mexican boxing is taking them to the chin. Dont worry though, I have 4 boys 12, 10, 9 and 10months, all boxers Chicano boxing will be on the map once again!!
because they eat punches for lunch,, dont have no skill and are very slow
if u see aa fighters we use are iq have more speed and agile than the mexicans.

not really cause keynens dominate, mexicans is there as steppng stones for slick fighters. they dont have the same skill and athletism as aa fighters
Lol what slick fighters are dominating besides Floyd? Even then Floyd got his ass handed to him by Castillo.
& one more thing I need to add, Mexicans need to quit fighting other Mexicans all the time. You want to beat a brother/Cuban/or Puerto Rican, well you have to get used to fighting them and their style. Dont stay fighting chicklet vendors, like Leo Santa Cruz.
Sure you can, well... Only if you watch and understand that boxing exists below the Feaherwieght division.
thats the point though.. nobody really cares about anyone below 122
keep and eye out for francisco el bandido vargas* man he's definitely gonna fill j.m.m shoes the only mexican fighter worth looking at at the moment but there is a gap right now nopt to many at the moment but give it time it will come back but like i said EL BANDIDO!! :boxing: :boxing: oh and El gallo estrada he's a damn good fighter my favorite in the lower division
What really needs to change is the style. It seems like since the Margarito era its been all about trying to walk guys down and not cutting off the ring & then they want to compare it to Julio Cesar Chavez. For one there was a craft behind Chavez's style, he knew how to cut off the ring similar to GGG (without the switch step) and Chavez was very good at rolling with the punches which made his chin look granite (which it was) but it helped that he went with the punch and didnt take them flush ie. Margarito vs Mosley. But with that said there was only one Julio Cesar Chavez, so every Mexican fighter needs to quit trying to be him or if they want to, they need to learn to emulate his craft correctly. Jose Luis Castillo was the last Mexican (poor mans version) that could work that style to an extent.
Also, I think to many Mexicans are fighting out of their (comfort zone) weight class. Naturally Mexicans are not tall/large framed people, not saying there are not any but on average I think the average Mexican (from Mexico) is about 5'7" compared to the U.S. average of 5'9". So fighting at higher weight classes just for the $ makes Mexicans look bad. On average when you look at history, Mexicans have done best @135 or below not saying that they cant fight higher but when you are fighting guys naturally taller and wider you run into the whole "the great bigger fighter always beats the great little fighter". This is one of the reasons why I dont know why promotors/managers try and rush their fighters up in weight.
And 1 last thing, Mexican fighters need to be more active. Mexicans on average make more $ than most other boxers due to their loyal fans and styles so alot of Mexicans make a ton of $ than take 9months to a year between fights and get hella fat in between fights. Stay active and you stay in shape, that way you know when your body cant make weight anymore than move up. Dont blow up 40lbs between fights than cry you cant make weight, its like no ***** you cant make 135 anymore, you are walking around 180lbs and you are only 5'6" lol
they havent got the speed or skill of p4p fighters.
overrated and will be reduced to punch bag status when a refined a level black elite boxer faces them.
Sounds about right. No argument there :sombrero:

here you go with some bigot bs. no need for your fu.ckboy comments
Estrada, Chihuas Rodriguez, Pedro Guevara and Rey Vargas are a few names Spit forgot to mention. If you only know Canelo, Chavez, Mares and Leo... I suggest you learn more about the subject at hand before ranting or posting and making yourselves look clueless :lol1:
