yah pac was dancing circles around rios, and he showed good movement against bradley in both fights.
pac's footwork is and always was leagues above floyd's.
:lol1: not sure if trolling or just stupid.
I keep thinking how floyd fans say he let maidana hit him for them
I will lick your armpit and call you beautiful you grungy motherfucker. Do NOT FUCK with me.
Preach to these idiots plz. He landed a few jabs, most of his punches landed on pacs GLOVES or hit air. These guys are so happy their god won they'll put the blinders on for anything.
lol, I guess you didnt visit the gif thread.
:lol1:
SRR fought TONS of tomato cans. I think number of title fights are much more important than number of wins.
It's amazing that Floyd has more than SRR, considering SRR fought almost 200 times.
He a B+ fighter, who will lose to any A level boxer.
I dont see him losing to anyone slugger out their at 147.
People like to call him a punching bag cause he does get hit but like 90% of the shots he catches on the gloves that his style and it works for him people act like theirs only one style to not get hit and thats straight up make em miss, hes not fast enough for that so he got his own thing going, Hell even Andre Ward who people respect as one of the top elite pure boxers here even acknowledges that about rios.
Rios inside game is not match by anyone in the sport right now.
:lol1: really?
If Maidana didn't lose to Mayweather, he would have won against Mayweather. These retarded hypothetical arguments are retarded. Please stop...
First of all, I didn't say Maidana would of won. I was simply asking to engage in a thought experiment, one where Maidana landed the same punch at the beginning of the round: what would of happened. That's it.
Second of all thinking hypothetically gives a certain degree of insight that is always beneficial.
Floyd deserved to be crucified for fighting anyone not named Pacquiao as long as Pac was available and willing.
now that he finally grew a pair, Floyd's future choices for opponents will be much less scrutinized / criticized
You mean that since Manny has overcome his phobia of needles and Arum has given up on his stadium plans the fight finally got made?
Makes sense.
Everyone knows the reason the fight finally got made is because Arum has milked Pacquiao as much as he could and has finally cashed out him for one last huge payday.
LOL.
If Lennox actually believed that he would make even anywhere close to 120 million, he would of been in the ring a LOOONNGGG time ago. Old man trying to stay relevant.
What you dont get? He barely came out of his shoulder roll vs ortiz, guerrero and mitchell.
The only time Floyd uses the shoulder roll against southpaws is when they are squared up when he is against the ropes.
Floyd stood right in front of Ortiz with a high guard and kicked his ass for 90% of the fight.
he should have gone out on his shield.
he did okay in a losing effort. he had a couple moments. even made floyd miss shots.
but he should have got ktfo trying to win.
This is exactly why it wasnt an exciting fight. The onus was never on Floyd to make it exciting.
He should of risked everything to win this fight. I really thought after the 4th round that the momentum of the fight shifted and we cold be in for a great one, but then followed it up by throwing less than 30 punches in round 5.
Yes it was all Floyd, Floyd was most of the time standing right in front of Manny pumping his jab, feinting, and Manny would simply not engage because Floyd nails him right a right hand 50% of the time.
The vast majority of people watching the superbowl are not football fans and they would never pay for a NFL PPV.
This. I watch football exactly once a year.
DLH-Mayweather did 2.4 Million. I'd say this fight does another 1.1 million, making it 3.5 million.
Yes this fight is capable of doing over 3,000,000 homes, and with the amount of fight parties there will be if the fight happens, you can more than 10x that number and that is the amount of people that will actually watch the fight in the U.S. alone. I think 300 million people is too small. There will be many heads distributed in 3 million homes. Let's say an average of 15 people per home just to throw out numbers. Half a billion people will watch this fight in the U.S.
Add UK, Asia, the other American countries like Canada, Mexico, South America, Central America. Easily a couple billion people will watch the fight. There's 7 billion people in the world, about 40% of the worlds population will be watching this fight. Of course only about 0.15% of those will be paying.
:lol1: No offense Kev, but this sort of thing isn't your strong suite.
1. 3 Million x 10 =/= 300 million.
2. An average of 15 people PER home is unrealistic and laughable.
3. There isn't even a half billion people in the U.S period. Basically what your saying is 150% of the population of the U.S. will watch the fight in the U.S.
4. There is absolutely no way there is going to be 2 billion people worldwide that watches this fight live. ****, I wouldn't be surprised if 40% of the world's population didn't have cable at all.
:lol1: this dude clearly has no idea what a paper champ even is. If he did he'd know that Cotto is the exact opposite of a paper champ is.
Regardless of who you think the best middle weight title holder is, fact is Cotto is the lineal "true" mw champion after he beat Martinez, who beat Pavlik who beat Taylor who beat BHOP.
Adonis Stevenson is the lineal "true" light heavyweight champion. he beat dawson, who beat Hopkins, who beat pascal.
and Stevenson, just like cotto are nothing more than title holders.
real champs take on the best challenger in the division.
Adonis and Miguel have yet too do that.
true champion my ass
kovalev and golovkin are the best and biggest fights for both in their divisions and they have yet too step up too the plate and unify
Yes I understand you have an opinion. It's too bad it doesn't work that way. Whether you like it or not, Miguel Cotto is the legitimate middleweight champion of the world.
My boys wanted to come over and everything or go out and watch the fight. I told them straight up that I am watching the fight alone on my 60" in peace.
no, it just means what half the boxing fans were saying. that pac cant beat floyd.
now what happens IF pac beats floyd instead?
I would be surprised and give credit where it's due?
Holy **** I have the biggest ****ing boner right now. I never thought I would honestly see this day. The fight didn't even feel real until now and now it's like holy **** it's here, it's happening.
If it's so close why isn't the fight official? What's the holdup? What's the problem? What's holding things up? When this fight is officially announced I will believe it but it has been so close so many times and yet somehow never happens.
I know it's hard to believe but deals worth a few hundred million dollars require a lot of legal work and jargon to be sorted out.
HBO and Showtime needs to be sorted out as well
I just went through the first couple pages of this thread and really no one is going to mention the 10 point MUST scoring system... on a BOXING forum? Really?
9-9 is only possible if a point is deducted by the referee.
Cotto won the first round de facto because of the KD. If you feel Clottey was dominating the round despite the KD, then the proper score would be 10-9.
The obvious answer would be any ATG heavy weight, and then hope the mystery fighter behind the curtain is Floyd or someone just as small.
I'd probably pick Wlad for strategic reasons...
1. Since the mystery fighter behind the curtain is an active fighter and Wlad is the only active fighter that would have a chance at beating another ATG heavy.
2. By picking Wlad, you are essentially eliminating him as an opponent (unless he can somehow fight himself??)... and he's the only one I would actually fear (out of active fighters).
3. And since the fighter behind the curtain has to be an active fighter, Wlad destroys the current crop of HWs anyway.
No current fighter can go through DLHs resume either undefeated.
Because Floyd isn't big enough to fight Middleweights or huge Jr. Middleweights
Floyd beats everyone Oscar fought at 147 and below. The only one I see beating Floyd is Bhop or even perhaps Sturm, because of the sheer size differential.
Also mind you, Oscar lost 6 times. He didn't even come close to going undefeated. You don't get credit for losing decisively.
