OMG, so much delusion in this threads. 3,5m? 4m?? it'll be lucky enough if this fight can crack 2,5 millions ppv buys.
Boxing only has 2,5-2,7 mil PPV buyers Max, i'm not bulsh1tting that's the demoghrapic
First of all nobody in China cares...............So that's not even a market. China look at the Flipinnes as second class citizens compared to the 'mighty Chinese economy'.........
Second off..........it's not the biggest fight ever. It is the biggest PPV ever. There is a big difference.
floyd and pac could get at least 3.5, i thought at one point it could have done 4 million.
no way as much as we pretend it used to be bigger its as big as its ever been now just like it was then
Manny floyd being the biggest fight to make, I think it does over 3 million buys, probably 3.2 million...
I also think a freakshow PPv with like Justin beiber's pro boxing debut would do like 10 million buys.. Sad but true
If Mickey Rourke did it why cant Beiber, but he has to sing "Baby, Baby" first.

Bieber pro debut would do 10 million buys but they wont price it at 99 bucks probably 25 bucks or something.
Maybe Floyd should convince Biebs to have a pro debut on May Pac? that will boost ppv big time those girls will order.
Biebs could train with Floyd and prepare at the same time, that would be huge.
Bottom line is they will set the price at whatever they think makes them the most money. If they raise the price, they get less buys but make more for each buy. Theres no way of knowing for sure what price will get them the most revenue so they come up with their best guess.
This fight just need promos, Face-offs, and word of mouth.....this fight will sell they dont need to push it to june
Especially when it gets close to May 2nd....that last week before the fight.....Everyone will be on board
My only question is do that have enough time for training camp
training camps are 8 weeks
may 2 is over 12 weeks away
they got plenty of time too train
DLH-Mayweather did 2.4 Million. I'd say this fight does another 1.1 million, making it 3.5 million.
Yes this fight is capable of doing over 3,000,000 homes, and with the amount of fight parties there will be if the fight happens, you can more than 10x that number and that is the amount of people that will actually watch the fight in the U.S. alone. I think 300 million people is too small. There will be many heads distributed in 3 million homes. Let's say an average of 15 people per home just to throw out numbers. Half a billion people will watch this fight in the U.S.
Add UK, Asia, the other American countries like Canada, Mexico, South America, Central America. Easily a couple billion people will watch the fight. There's 7 billion people in the world, about 40% of the worlds population will be watching this fight. Of course only about 0.15% of those will be paying.
:alcoholic:alcoholic:alcoholic
What in gods name are you talking about? The population of the USA is no more than 320mill people.
Also if the price is 100 bucks and the fight stinks it will turn people off to boxing even more, remember the world awaits did 2.4 million and almost everyone at my work said the fight sucked and Mayweather was boring and lied about giving fireworks it was all hype, Floyds next ppv only did 800k with Hatton that is a huge drop off.
People will leave dissatisfied if the fight is a dude and no action it will hurt the sport even more, its a risky move to take.
I agree, and I kinda think that we have set our selves up for it, even the casuals.
I mean lets be real, We have a ambush fighter Vs Counter puncher.
What happens if Floyd gets in there and pulls a boxing class?
Regardless of rather we believe him or not that he allowed him self to stay on the ropes against Maidana and Cotto, no way is he fighting that way against Manny, he is going to be in pure boxing mode.
So unless Manny makes it exciting by catching Floyd all night, it's not gonna live up to the hype.
It's a bad deal either way.

I think the fight is going to go over 3 million. Hopefully, it's announced during the Super Bowl which would have an audience of at least 13-14 million viewers. I expect it to catch fire so to speak. Everyone will be talking about it and it's going to happen on the perfect day. Cinco de mayo weekend + one of the most anticipated fights in a long time will result in big dollars. These guys are making a sh*tload of money so they need to shatter every record.
111 million people watched the superbowl last year.
Smart but personally I wanna be selfish with this ppv and watch undisturbed. Want to drink up every video feed and commentary. Those fight parties you cant even ejoy the undercards with people partying or trying to flip the channel.
Exactly, for this ppv I am not having a party only my family and that is it. I gotta focus and really savor everything, the anticipation after ever underacrd fight as it leads up tot he main card.
Everytime I have people over there is always someone who can't shut their mouth when you try to listen to the commentators, you know the person the one who thinks they know everything and are a coach but never boxed in their life it gets annoyingly hard to focus on the fight.
I will pay for Mayweather vs Pacquiao. $100 bucks if that's the cost. Many other people will as well, in the form of fight parties. To decrease the cost of a $100 dollar ppv all it takes if for 10 people to chip in $10 each. Or 5 people to chip in $20. Beer and food not included. Still if 10 people bring $20-25 for ppv, food, and drinks that's enough.

:lol1: No offense Kev, but this sort of thing isn't your strong suite.
1. 3 Million x 10 =/= 300 million.
2. An average of 15 people PER home is unrealistic and laughable.
3. There isn't even a half billion people in the U.S period. Basically what your saying is 150% of the population of the U.S. will watch the fight in the U.S.
4. There is absolutely no way there is going to be 2 billion people worldwide that watches this fight live. ****, I wouldn't be surprised if 40% of the world's population didn't have cable at all.
:lol1:
I actually saw my mistake after posting it. I know there aren't even half a billion people in the U.S. I am just not really an editing type here. My mistake will forever be carved into Boxingscene history so all can see. I left it that way and figured everyone would see the obvious mistake and get the point. I am honestly still too lazy to go back and edit it.
This fight has been promoted since 2009 nothing else has to be said there's no need for a press tour, 24/7 All-Access or anything. This is the most built up boxing match in history. You need no gimmicks to sell this it's already sold.
