Parkinson's Disease is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that has no known cure. It affects 60,000 Americans each year.
It is a tragic disease that not only disables the victims. It is also a social disease that affects families.
The reason I am bringing this up is because Freddie Roach - like Muhammad Ali, Michael J. Fox, and Olympic cyclist Phinney - is affected by it.
What is very disturbing is that people in this forum - along with the Mayweathers - like to poke fun at Freddie Roach's condition. By doing so, these people are making a mockery of all of the people (and their families ) that are suffering from this great tragedy.
Please stop insulting Freddie. Stop hating on him. And if you get the chance, tell Alex Ariza and the Mayweathers to do the same.
Pacquaio did rios bad after rios made fun of roach as you can see in the gifs I posted earlier
Make things worse rios lied about not knowing roach had Parkinson's
Disgraceful behaviour
I'm glad PAC dominated him for 12 rounds but felt that PAC could have stepped on the gas and got bam bam out of there
I know pd too well... being a nurse I've seen what it does first hand.
Pd can be slow but it's also very progressive... nothing will stop the course of the disease.
The medication we have in levadopa is really good from the start, it will make u feel almost normal... but as the disease progresses and the med being synthetic it's starts to stop working... u get a good 5 years, some 10 before u need to take it almost every hour... some people take up to 30 pills a day... this is when DBS comes into play, it will help lower the doses but in no way bring ur symptoms close to zero.
Most people think it's just a shaking disease but shaking would be a least concern to most people who suffer from the disease.. with the lack of neurons who produce dopamine means it's going to affect mood and muscle movement and other stuff we just don't know about... muscles in your intestines for example, not having a bowel movement for over a week... rigidity in your limbs for lack of movement.. not being able to walk... much much more stuff that u can imagime.
Roach is inspiration, most people retire from work and I don't blame them.
I like to see that. The passion I mean. Rios got the biggest payday of his life for that fight but at that very second the last thing on his mind was a single cent of that purse. Respect.
Dude wanted to win bad but theirs levels to this.
Roach is a former pro fighter and has trained numerous world champions, he talks plenty of sh*t and seems to be able to take care of himself just fine. I don't think he needs some keyboard warrior sticking up for him when he could beat the living hell out of most posters on here (TS included) with one hand.
Hate to say this but it's fair game when it comes to Shiiet talking. Don't want ur feelings hurt? Stfu then! Freddie has been running his mouth as of late so anything coming back his way I have no sympathy for.
Freddie isn't an innocent victim. He talks a lot of shlt does that mean he's immune to someone talking back? And nobody even makes fun of him
No, but it's another thing to make fun of his medical condition.
NO! Roach is a foul-mouthed pity-con-man, that is riding on unearned gifted laurels i.e. "Trainer of the year", and has nothing but contempt for anyone who demonstrates proficiency at their craft.
Very strong words, I think he was worthy of TOTY in 2014, not 2013. I don't like Freddie Roach much but he is a good trainer.
He does give credit sometimes but the guys he's asked about are invariably the opponents of his own fighters and he can't help talking ish, I think he knows it generates interest in the fight too.

This is a strange read ............. :nonono:
Should we dismiss Roach's provocative actions just because he has a disease?
Should Roach get a pass for insulting peers, simply because he has a disease?
Should Roach receive favoritism in awards voting, because he has a disease?
Should Roach get a pass for all the foul crap he does, simply because he has a disease?
Think about those questions for a minute ....................... Now I'll provide answers.
Should we dismiss Roach's provocative actions just because he has a disease?
NO! If Roach makes a conscientious choice to be provocative, then he deserves a stern response, along with additional ridicule because he is of-times full of shit.
Should Roach get a pass for insulting peers, simply because he has a disease?
NO! If Roach is willing to dish out insults, then he deserves the same in kind, without consideration.
Should Roach receive favoritism in awards voting, because he has a disease?
Absolutely NOT!!!! But he has received awards even when undeserved and this activity amplifies bias in the sport and diminishes the awards value. I can name five (5) outstanding trainers that never receive a mention, or any acknowledgements. Why? Do every trainer need a disease now, just to compete for the chance to be recognized for their achievements?
The awards ceremonies are ridiculous and its extremely disingenuous to keep giving Roach awards, while he was clearly outperformed during a chosen year.
Should Roach get a pass for all the foul crap he does, simply because he has a disease?

Roach isn't the angel, simple-minded fools make him out to be. Perception rarely equates to reality, and just because you feel compassion for someone with a debilitating disease, doesn't mean you should be taken advantage of by some con-man using his disease as a crutch.
Yes, people who find themselves in an unfortunate degrading physical situation should be spared ridicule, especially coming from individuals insensitive to their debilitating disease. But at the same time, don't use your disease to get away with murder. Roach is one of those who uses his disease to get away with shit constantly ...... and he deserves not even a minutes worth of compassion!!!!!
If he wasn't talkin trash all the time !!!!
Every time manny or some one he trains fights he calls a KO , and then talks about WE are goin to do this and that .....
As for his parkensons , it ain't right people talkin smak about that , but if he shut up and took the noble approach then he would be received a lot better by the whole boxing world not just pac fans etc....
Rush Limbaugh says its a fake disease doe....... he says people just pretend, to gain sympathy.......... someone needs to choke that fat tub of goo........ if they can manage to wrap their hands around his massive turkey neck!
lol he never said parkinsons is a fake disease... he made some personal comments about michael j fox turning his disease into a gimmick... don't believe everything you read on the internet
Rios took it too far but he apologized for it so its over, nobody is perfect, people have to let it go and most other people don't make fun of his condition, they talk **** to him like any other trainer or fighter.
Roach is one of the most vocal trainers in the sport and he is constantly insulting other fighters and trainers in his interviews so why is it wrong for them to do the same?
His disease and any problems he has due to it should be off limits, I agree with that 100%, but as far as anything else hes fair game just like anybody else. I cant believe anybody would think Roach should off limits for trash talk with all the things he says, its obvious he loves that stuff, that roadwork comment he made the other day about Roger Mayweather was hilarious.
Freddie isn't an innocent victim. He talks a lot of shlt does that mean he's immune to someone talking back? And nobody even makes fun of him
This post perfectly sums up the mentality of the subhuman scum that support floyd.
roach is alright, paid, doing what he loves to do or income, awards, women, hes good... the trash talk is a boxing thing, these guys know deep down inside each other are good trainers and have boxing knowledge... freddie doesnt need compassion hes okay
It's very possible.
Rios humbled after the Manny loss.
