IMO Cotto has to do three things to have a chancce to win may 5th
1. he has to land the jab with authority, and move floyd back. a very tall task
2. he has to get out of the way of the right hand of floyd, he can not eat straight rights from floyd all night
3. when floyd shoulder rolls or postures up bang the body

Does Miguel Cotto Have a Shot at the Upset?
Cotto has generally been better against boxers where he can assume the role of pressure fighter than against guys that come at him. He struggled with Ricardo Torres, Antonio Margarito, Manny Pacquiao, and Joshua Clottey because they had the power/style to back him up. When he comes forward he is generally more effective, and sits down more on his punches.
I think he will be more effective on the ropes than other Mayweather opponents because his accuracy is underrated, and he is more economical/skilled than Victor Ortiz and Ricky Hatton with his punches. A lot of it will likely depend on if Mayweather stands still or still has the legs to move around.
this guy nows what hes talking about .... best cotto vs floyd prediction
I agree with everything he said....

Cotto maybe is the smallest middleweight… but the most skillful at middleweight. Nobody in the middleweight division is on Cotto’s level, not even Golovkin. Stronger yes, that’s it!
Lara also doesn't have good power. He has average power at best. Anybody with good power would have stopped Rodriguez in four to six rounds earlier. To hit Rodriguez clean that many times and not get the stoppage really shows a lack of power.
canelo smashes **** fighters who stand in front of him, bite down on their mouthguard, and wait to be assaulted. Angulo was a dead man walking, Kirkland is the same guy who was KO'd in the first round by Nobuhiro Ishida.
I like Canelo a lot, but he is definitely the most overhyped, overrated, and under scrutinized fighter in the sport right now. Everyone talks about him like he's some destroyer, but the guy is seriously limited. He lumbers around the ring like a 154 pound yacht.
Canelo and his team have to stop being idiots here for a second. If they want maximize their profits, they let Mayweather have his last fight in September and they fight Cotto in October or November.
this......
IMO, cotto is a more skilled boxer, and will win by 1-3 rounds. He has enough power to make canelo hesitant/respect his power, and enough skill to box circles around him.
I agree 100:boxing:
I've been following cotto for a while now and was really thinking his career was coming to an end. after tonight's performance, all I can say is WOW!! Freddie Roach is truly a legend at what he does and cotto has now rejuvenated his career
Dont let the KO's fool you. GGG has never fought anybody with great lateral movements, descent speed and heavy hands like Cotto. There's plenty of uncharted waters that GGG has not been into.
Cotto's compusure after sustaining such a violent assault in the second is something special, he didn;t look at all phased but was hanging by a thread at times, Torres landed some huge shots that wdve dropped most fighters in the division and the next one up
