34 year-old Miguel Cotto would certainly qualify as Mundine’s biggest fight of his career, and there were rumours of an inquiry being sent from Mundine’s management to the Cotto camp.
Cotto, whose four career losses have come in World Title fights against the who’s who of the boxing business, may be tempted by a potential 60,000 plus crowd at the MCG should the fight take place down under.
Mundine’s Silver title win technically makes him number one contender to Floyd Mayweather, who Cotto lost to in 2012, a loss he would like to avenge.
A fight in front of a huge crowd, for a potential shot at Mayweather makes this fight a very real possibility.
It could very well be the biggest fight ever hosted in Australia should it eventuate, however you’d have to imagine Mundine would be willing to travel for an opportunity to fight Cotto.
At least Cotto is a fighting a real middleweight, proved me wrong. Coulda sworn he was gonna fight somebody from 147-154 and "defend" the middleweight title.
**** fight though Mundine sucks, got completely bodied by Clottey. One of the funniest fights ive seen. I guess Mundine is bringing that Australian money.
Clottey knocked him around like he was a blow up doll. That was one hilarious fight.
Ehhhh who ****ing cares? Cotto was done a few years ago, and now he's the lineal middleweight champ. That still seriously sounds insane to say. Miguel Cotto. Lineal. Middleweight. champ.
He could fight Paul Spadafora for all I care. Do your thing Cotto. Fight on your own terms and get that money.
Why you mad bro?

Cotto beating Clottey would make him Floyd Mayweather's mandatory, Since Roc Nation and Haymon don't want to work together , Cotto setting things to have the WBC order Floyd vs Cotto at 154
Wont happen. Guys as famous as Pac and Floyd dont fight mandatory challengers.
The WBC only stripped Pacquiao of his 154 belt because they wanted to put it on... who was it? Canelo? Another favorite fighter/cash cow.
If Cotto wants to fight Floyd, he has the middleweight title to bargain with. He doesn't need some BS mandatory status that will never be enforced.

This has to be a Phucking Joke right? it has to.. I mean who gives a **** about a Silver Trinket? How about Cottos Lineal Championship and WBC Gold MW Belt?... those are the REAL DEAL.. no some Silver crap
I'd be okay with Clottey-Cotto 2. Mundine is sh*tty though

Um didn't Mundine get KO'd by Clottey in his last fight?
Yep. Cotto wants no part of clottey. Clottey beat cottos ass
Clottey won a ud but knocked him down like 6 times. Since then nundine was won a decision over sergey rabchenko.
Turrible idea Miggy this is wayyy to tough of a comeback fight , facing Mundine is like sticking your hand in a rattlesnakes den you're going to get bite.

:lol1: its more like an "opinion" article and the author gives the names out on who he feels would be the fight.
