What was the most physically tough fight of Floyd Mayweather's pro boxing career?
Right now I'm sipping on red Gatorade and munching on spicy Mexican Chex Mix while I watch Mayweather-Cotto in 1080p 60fps. This fight was a motherfu**** for my boy Money Mayweather. Cotto was beating his ass. Short ass hooks to the body and head and chopping jabs busting up Floyd's face. Mayweather showed the heart of a lion. Very good boxing match.
So, this raises the question: What was Mayweather's toughest fight? Vote and discuss, gentlemen.

Yeah, you're not a dumb cunt. :fing02:
How is it that one fighter can bring out such utter and complete stupidity? Truly baffling. I've never seen so many people display such astounding ignorance and mind blowing ****tardedness as guys like this moron above.
Floyd and Oscar, a rare fight where Floyd wasn't the bigger man? :lol1:
You would think it's purposeful, but I've been here too long and I know that in most cases, people are simply this ****ing dumb.
Floyd Mayweather is 5'8'' and was a big super feather and light weight and is a pretty decent sized WW by modern standards. He is actually a natural at the weight, considering he has been fighting at 147 for almost a decade now.
Look at some of his more famous opponents, recently, Pacquiao, 5'6'' and barely rehydrating beyond 147. Maidana, 5'7'', a career light welterweight. Do you want me to start on Hatton, Gatti, Judah, JMM? How about Guerrero, a career lightweight?
Heck, he even had to have Canelo drained to have a fight with him, although he was actually a champion in the same division as Canelo and the Mexican stands a full inch shorter than Mayweather.
Let's not act like I'm some dillusional fighter hater, you just have to read my posts to see I give credit where credit is due. But I'm not gonna type non-sensical praise for any fighter, Mayweather has often been the bigger man in most of his fights (height and weight). YOu can deny it if you want, that's your prerogative but don't sit there and act like that is fact.
So, back to the point of this thread, you're telling me you DON'T think Castillo, Oscar and Maidana were his toughest fights? Fights that are universally recognised, especially the Castillo bout, ad fights that could have gone either way. It's why two of those opponents were given rematches.
I know I probably heart your little Floyd loving hearts but like I always say, be a fight fan, not a fighter fan.
P.S.
Just to embarrass you a little further, the last Mayweather fought a welterweight (prior to Pacquiao) who had spent more than 2 years at the weight was Mosley back in 2010...the same Mosley coming off a 14 month lay off and aged 38-39. :dead:
Could you say the DeJesus fights are pieces of evidence Floyd could beat Duran?
I would pick Duran, for the record.
i havent' seen those fights in several years, so i'd need to go back and look at a few rounds to really evaluate the implications of duran's ability to deal with dejesus' style on a prospective match with floyd's style at 135.

Looool. I know right?
You think the Cotto fight was his toughest? Cotto made him work hard and made him work harder than he had in years but it wasn't all that tough down the stretch. Cotto barely won 4 rounds.
The Oscar fight was much more tough, Oscar could easily be given 6 rounds, I personally gave him 5, Floyd 6 and one even. Physically, Floyd was in a rare fight where he wasn't the bigger man the sheer size of Oscar gave him hell. It's a shame this was an almost done Oscar who could barely fight 5 rounds.
The first Castillo fight was very tough also, a fight I've seen twice and still can't see how Mayweather won. Or the first Maidana fight, again, the weight and strength of Maidana played a part, as did his hunger to hurt Floyd, which few fighters, Pacquiao included, have shown.

Yeah, that's really how it was.
:dunce:
No mention of Pacquiao specifically? lol. Strong bias poll.
Guy wins 4 rounds and if you watched the fight extremely close could have given him more. He also hurts Floyd on 2 occasions and Mayweathers connect percentage is the lowest of his entire career.
How the f*ck does Cotto give Mayweather a tougher fight
Ask mayweather he was in the ring with all those guys. Lol. Mayweather till this day says cotto was his toughest. I wouldn't argue with him. All those rib shots I guess. They are extremely painful esspescially the next day.
LOL @ cotton being a hard fight,,smh cotto berely won 2 rounds and was on the verge of quitting,,did u see that vicious uppercut by floyd in the 121th round??
Let me get a hit of that **** your smoking son. Seems like some good ****.
Could you say the DeJesus fights are pieces of evidence Floyd could beat Duran?
I would pick Duran, for the record.
If Leonard could outbox and frustrate Duran to the point that he quit, I think Floyd can do it too, Floyd's foot work, defense, feinting and counter punching are better than Leonard's. Leonard has the edge in speed, power and combination punching especially at 147, which he tried to use in the first fight and it didn't work, and he wasn't able to make adjusments, Floyd is the king of adjustments, so I wouldn't count him out against anybody, but Duran has the perfect style to beat Floyd, It's just that he wasn't mentally strong and patient enough to deal with someone like Floyd Mayweather.
I'll agree with ts. MAyweather himself said cotto was his toughest and he was actually in the ring with him. Castillo may have been closer but cotto definitely tougher. Look at all the post fights interviews. Especially all acess epilogue. "DAmn he hits harder than a mfer" trout said the same thing btw and both eluded to their stomach and rib in pain the next day. Unlike the usual for floyd he didn't come out the cotto fight looking the way he did when he walked in. Definelty swelling and cuts when usually he looks like he didn't even get hit.
Miadana 1 or Castillo Are a close second
I'm surprised people voted for Augustus. He literally won every round and stopped him.
How do people define 'toughest'? Because i do remember Floyd saying Augustus was toughest. I see toughest as closest or most difficult, Augustus showed great heart but didn't come remotely close to winning.
pretty sure mayweather said cotto was the toughest fight he'd had, straight after the fight. you could actually see mayweather getting frustrated with cottos jab.
castillo fight was a long time ago, i think it helped floyd, in the rematch he did much better. in maidana 1 i believe floyd was allowing to make it more exciting, in the rematch he did his thing for the easy victory.
i'd go with cotto
