Me personally I think cotto will try to get a catchweight as close to jmw as possible, probably 155. 160 definitely favours the younger/bigger Canelo who cuts alot of weight.
I think the fight should be fought at 160. No cw's.
Team Canelo claimed they agreed to all Cotto's demands already and he still refused the fight.
People said Cotto was waiting for Floyd but looking back it might've had more to do with Roc Nation.
I really hope there isn't protracted negotiations and I'm not too bothered if they fight at 154, it would actually be better since they both claim to be JMWs. I don't like Roach being vindictive with the weight though, using it as a tool.
COtto did say in the interview that he has "earned" things. Roach is really unethical to me when it comes to this. He uses the weight issue as a tool and strategy and is proud about it. It's really ****ed up because as a boxer he knows how much damage cutting weight does to health.
This negotiation will be epic. Neither will budge. Miguel Cotto wants what Miguel Cotto wants, but Canelo's ego is nothing to scoff at either. I am serious on this one: 154 vs. 155 will be a massive block.
Truth is, neither NEEDS the other. Cotto is making million fighting B/C opposition, while Canelo is right on the path of mega stardom.
Not surprised if this gets unnecessarily difficult (well, already did right?).

Roach and Cotto will push hard for 152 and the fight might not happen, Cotto nation will scream duck.
I hope I'm wrong and the fight is at 154 for vacant title or 160 for the WBC middleweight title. If they are fighting for no title they can agree to whatever they want.
It's going to be interesting to see how negotiations go for this fight. The battle of the egos. I feel like Canelo is a bigger star now. Let's see how the TV ratings are for this fight.
Canelo will refuse that, he's not that desperate for Cotto (but you're probably j/k)

My guess is 155, even though that's Canelo's usual weight. Can't be any lower or the middleweight title won't be at stake, and surely they will want it to be (otherwise he'd get stripped). It's an interesting question though; there's no real way for Cotto to mess with Canelo via weight demands. At 154 the middleweight title would still be at stake because Cotto is the champ and both fighters made the middleweight limit. The only way for the middleweight title not to be at stake would be if one or both fighters weighed in over 160. Cotto weighed in below the Jr. middleweight limit for Geale but the middleweight title was still at stake. Cotto and Canelo could fight at 150 and it would still be for the middleweight title. Canelo would never agree to a weight below 154. It will probably be at 155 because both men are comfortable there but time will tell. No matter what the weight limit is the winner will be the middleweight champ.
you guys are silly. 154 would be a miracle
152 is coming up. I am calling it

I think Canelo would agree to any weight between 154 and 160. The way Cotto crushed Geale makes me wonder why Cotto insisted on 157 when he could have done about the same thing at 160. He should just fight Canelo at 160 since it will be for the lineal middleweight title and middleweight is and always has been 160 pounds.

We don't know for sure if Cotto can make 152 though. We should call this the "Drain Game". Cotto will try to drain both Canelo and GGG, and I wonder who will be willing to budge to the demand.
154. Canelo wants to keep believing that he's not a MW yet, well Cotto and Roach will put that to the test. They will take any advantage possible, and Canelo isn't in the position to say No.
