collazo was in the ring with ortiz, and ortiz even gave him a shout out..
at the post press conference someone mentioned collazo's name and ortiz said something that he wants to go after the big guys where the real money is...
collazo just had a local fight in brooklyn, he weighed in at 151 so i think if he really had to he would lose the few extra pounds to get to 147.
you're right it probably won't happen because of the arum-king relationship.
but this fight in december in ny, will be a little crazy.
a ny rican against a true puerto rican, in the big apple.
collazo was suppose to fight in the undercard of barret and valuev, but now he's not, so the rumor is now the december fight against cotto.
mosely should definately be #1 you got to take all his other fights at welterweight into consideration.
cotto 2
and margarito 3.
paul williams shouldn't be up there in the top ten he hasn't fought anyone yet.
i know that he and luis collazo sparred a lot, he was a partner to help collazo against the mosely fight, they went at it pretty good. his defense does need improvement
your're right, a lot of the cards probably won't happen.
i heard collazo's hand is not 100% and that sharmba mitchell retired.
collazo might fight in november on the mosely cotto undercard...
i don't think the fight is happening, i heard that sharmba mitchell is retired.
luis collazo's hand is not 100%, he hurt it pretty badly in the mosely fight....
i beleive thats the bid for the promotional rights.
the boxers purse has to be ironed out in the contract.
i wonder why collazo's promoter Don King didn't bid.
Nope, the bid is the amount that will be split among the fighters. I don't know what the IBF's rule is for an interim title, but if it involves a champ, he gets 75% of the purse bid and the challenger gets 25%. This might be a 50-50 thing since neither is a champ.
theres no way they gonna split 35k.
this fight will probably be on a undercard of a payper view fight and they gonna split that amount, theres no chance of that.
my bad for not putting the quote earlier but here it is:
"Cotto fought Quintana and it took him five rounds (to subdue him) ... Paul stopped him in the first two minutes," Peterson added. "Cotto is now one of the best fighters in the welterweight class, and he's the only one that's undefeated, but we're prepared for that."

exactly that was my point. williams is a very good fighter with some amazing physical attributes. fight one more top ten guy, then he definately deserves the chance for the #1 spot, thats all i'm saying.
i don't think he would fight collazo, collazo used him as a sparring partner when he fought against mosely. berto wasn't as polished as he is now but i heard that collazo was giving it to him.
i heard he's in paul williams traiing camp, he's sparring with williams.
don king is his promoter, so i wonder whats gonna be next.
he's ranked by all organizations, so lets see.
Paul williams proved it. that was the first thing he said. he had good sparring partners and luis collazo was the first name he mentioned.
hate to say it but i told you so. williams camp wanted to keep all his training on the down low, the never mentioned names until after the fight.
people around the streets of brooklyn. if williams wins he'll give him his credit. but williams is trying to keep it on the down low. he doesn't want quintana's camp to know to much info.
