This is true. He needs to fight in the States and step it up against better fighters. No point fighting soup kitchen fighters to keep the unbeaten record.
The usa refused his visa because of some prison time he served for assault. Katsidis claims that it was self defence not assault.

The fight was in Parksville. Next door to the Melbourne zoo. Apparently its the home ground for the Melbourne Tigers basketball team. I agree, the publicity around here is terrible. If i want to know about fights around here, I have to look for them myself. If it wasnt for the internet, I wouldnt know about any fights.
The most entertaining fight of the night would have been the Adam Wills fight. I had never heard of him but he was entertaining. He was winning the fight and then he had his right eye busted pretty damn good, and the ref interupted the fight so the doctor could examine his eye, and the doc must have told him that he has to knock his opponent out b4 his eye got worse, so for the rest of the round, Adam Wills chased the guy around the ring throwing haymakers. But he didnt manage to knock him out in time and the ref called the fight off.
I cant see a rematch happening any time soon. I highly doubt that Green will want to shred the pounds to fight at super middleweight level again and I dont think Mundine would be interested in putting on weight to fight at Light heavyweight. It wasnt long ago I heard that Mundine was considering dropping down a weight class. Maybe when the day comes where Mundine doesnt have alot to loose we may see a rematch.
Tyson v Spinks
Tua v Ruiz
Tua v Moorer
Louis v Schmeling II
Clay v Liston II
Jimmy Thunder v Grimsley
Even though this fight didnt end in the 1st round, I thought it was worth a mention - Dempsey v Willard. Willard was knocked down 7 times in the 1st round. Back then you didnt have to wait in a neutral corner after a knock down, so every time Willard was knocked down, Dempsey was hovering above him with his fists cocked back waiting for him to rise to his feet so he could knock him straight back down again.
Oneil Bell, Chris Bryd, Oliver McCall, Jameel McCline, Juan Carlos Gomez and Tye Fields. Brock and Peter dropped out so there is still 2 spots up 4 grabs. The only thing Ive heard about possible replacements is that Tony Tubbs and Larry Donald have said they are interested. Sinan Samil Sam and Jean-Francois Bergeron are listed as reserves.
I like Vic Darchinyan. Id love to see him up against Jorge Arce. Another undefeated Ive been keeping an eye on is David Rodriguez. He is 23 - 0 with 22KO's. 20 of his KO's have been in the 1st round. The only guy he didnt knock out he won via unanimous decision in a 4 round bout. I read that the opponent in this fight was rocked in every round. They had a rematch and Rodriguez knocked him out in the 2nd. He hasnt fought any1 really challenging yet, but Oscar De La Hoya has been talking him up. Im anxious to see how he goes against a real challenger.
Tony Tubbs wants to be added to the superfighter list. Ive never seen him fight b4 but I hear he 1 the last tourny like this about 10 yrs ago. He seems a bit old to me (48). Larry Donald is also showing interest.
I got B reserve, $125. Couldn't afford more because i wanted to get a ticket for my dad to.
Im going by myself. I could have taken my missus but that would have meant my seat wouldnt have been as good. Ive never been to a boxing match before so Im really looking forward to it. The last decent boxing event that I can recall to be held in Melbourne was the Robbie Peden and Nat Campbell title fight and that was almost 2 years ago. I didnt go to that because I was on holidays that week.
Got my tickets today!!! Can't wait, can't even put into words how excited i am!!!
Im excited aswell. I bought my ticket yesterday. How much was your ticket? Mine was 350 for a platinum seat. I would have loved to have been in the VIP area but I cant afford 1000 bucks.
Living in Australia it is hard to find someone who knows anything about boxing. People that I talk to who think they know about boxing wouldnt be able to tell me the names of more than 10 boxers. For example, I got all excited about the names in the superfighter tournament like Samuel Peter, Calvin Brock, O'neal Bell, Chrid Byrd, and the guys I talk to hadnt heard of any of these boxers. Im not saying Im a boxing expert by any means, but it would be nice to have friends that know what they are talking about.
Im begining to think that Chris Byrd will drop out next. He is already meant to be fighting on the 11th of nov. I really hope there will be some big name replacements. A few I would like to see as possible replacements are David Tua, Nikolay Valuev, Lamon Brewster, Kahli Meehan, Hasim Rahman. Maybe even Mike Mollo. I saw him knock the piss out of Kevin Mcbride on the Valuev/Barrett undercard. I think that is just wishful thinking on my behalf though.
I hope its not bullshit. I live in Melbourne and today I bought a ticket for the event. I read that Foreman was planning a tournament about 6months ago scheduled for October in Melbourne but that was the last I heard of it. I assumed it was cancelled until I heard the tickects went on sale today.
Briggs cant be that bad can he? I didnt watch the fight but according to the score cards he had won 4 out of 11 on 2 judges cards and 5 rounds out of 11 on the other judges card and it sounds like briggs smashed him in the final round. If sergei had of raised to his feet after that 2nd knock down, then the score cards would have looked like this 113-113, 113-113 and 114-112 in favour of Briggs. That just seems like a pretty good effort considering alot of people had Sergei as number 2 in their top 10 heavyweights.
this really pisses me off. The 1st day tickets went on sale I purchased a seat straight away and I got a really good seat aswell. Ive never been to watch any kind of boxing match before so I was really excited about this event. Alot of people were saying it wouldnt happen and i ignored them.
