How has Bernard Hopkins name not been mentioned? He's dam near 50 and can go 12 rounds with 20 year olds... although I will say that both he and Floyd Mayweather are 2 of the most relaxed fighters with low volume punch outputs....
Beside headbutts, clinching and an asswooping on the scorecards, what other erasons would Froch have to go to joakland?
Froch hasn't even been to Oakland yet.....Keep hearing bout this Hometown crap when Ward fought Froch in Atlantic City which is no where near Oakland....
Peterson pushing is irrelevant imo since he was the agressor. 9 timess outta 10 they will let agressive behavior stand as opposed to Khan pushing Peterson just because he lacked a better defensive maneuver to create space between himself and Peterson.
It looked more to me like Peterson was trying to avoid being held and shedding Khan off, not actually pushing. Khan would push off to create space and avoid fighting inside because all he could do is put on the earmuffs when inside. The guy has absolutely no inside game and it showed again just as it did in the Maidana fight. Khan is the superior fighter IMO and Roach needs to diversify his training. Quite a few of the guys he trains seem to have the same lack of defense, head movement and can't fight inside.
Anybody have any idea why Cotto wears that heart rate monitor? I wonder if his stamina is that much of a concern that they actually are charting his heartrate throughout his workouts....I don't recall ever seeing any other fighters using heart rate monitors....correct me if I'm wrong....
Diaz seems bent on not having Cotto walk back to the ropes. The pivot looks legit... maybe a combo of clinching and lateral movement is the key. The real key is to check the handwraps... No stacking allowed either.
Yo your avatar is NICE!!!! that's a vision of booty....I mean beauty!!!
Pacquiao wore one, they had a thread and a video on it yesterday.
Thanks, didn't see it. I'll look for it..
I don't think he's gonna be able to maintain all this movement for 12rds. He's gonna have to hold some too. Whatever he does he has to stay off the ropes. He looks good for right now....but unfortunately when put under pressure people tend to go back to what they know. Hope he can resist the urge.
Khan has now struggled against Peterson and Maidana, who are not exactly world-beaters. I'd much rather see him face Bradley then the Berto-Ortiz winner then he's earned his shot at Floyd. And by that time it'll be 2013 and he would be fully acclimated at WW and its almost a 50/50 fight.
I'm getting tired of people saying stupid stuff like a guy can't punch and just walk through his punches....if he can't punch you'd think at least 1 of the 25 people he's fought and beaten would have done so by now....Truth is, those punches hurt. He may not have 1 punch knockout power but he's not a powderpuff puncher like most you seem to think. Guys that simply cannot punch do not win tournaments against the best in a weigh class...
We owe Cotto some credit for some of the sales in his fight with Mayweather.
Is Cotto not also owed credit for some of the 1.25mil buys vs Pac even though its less than the 1.5mil vs Mayweather? (Which was after losing to Pac)
LOL why don't you re post your argument here again. i believe you tried to post it here and it turned out it was basically a argument with yourself.
to the people that has never read his mailbags, he is not a blogger, he is a trainer from Philly and writes sometimes for blank_talk.com
he never said he does not re-watch fights he said he does not re-score fights.
dude is pretty Bang on with his info and predictions
I agree...and from when I have seen he is a stand up guy that admits when he's wrong...

 ............
Ms Jackson is fine as hell.....Ms Jinkee...well not so much...much props to Pacman for standing by her..most men would have upgraded a long time ago...
Im pretty sure the official clock wasnt rolling, which means the punch was thrown during a time-out, which should be a DQ or a NC.
What a surprise that Joe Cortez would have his biggest staring roll yet, not only does he warn a point, but he just turns away and starts talking to the time keeper, you are supposed to send Floyd to the neutral corner and for him to stay there until you call time - in and you fight.
This fight was full of Fail.
Ortiz is just an idiot.
Joe Cortez is either corrupt or a dumb moron who needs to be "wiped off the planet"
Floyd proves again that he would kill his own mother for a $20 crack rock and that he can have boat loads of money but he will always be a low class hood scum and so will his kids.
Can someone check with the commision on what the rules are? Cortez NEVER motioned for time-in to be called to the Commision, once you motion for them to time-in do you tell the fighters to fight, he never told Floyd to STAND in the neutral corner, because if he did Floyd wouldnt by 3 feet away from Ortiz as he is in the corner looking away.
sad part about all this? Flomo's being happy and excited, yea takes a real man to sucker punch someone twice for a "KO", good job ghetto home slice
You need to go back and rewatch the video. Because Cortez puts Ortiz in a neutral corner while telling him not to headbutt again and then while Mayweather is in the other corner clearly says "Let's Go".....and motions for them to come together...then points to the clock. I can't blame Cortez for that. Mayweather apparently didn't want to embrace and there's no rule against that.
Look @ 21 seconds of video, Floyd is NOT IN THE NEUTRAL CORNER, HE IS JUST WANDERING AROUND, Then he proceeds to want to hug Ortiz and sucker punches him as Cortez turns around.
Real classy stuff, his fans can be proud.
This is what a Real, unbribed ref does:
Sends Floyd to neutral corner to chill
Takes off 1 point from ortiz and sends him to opposite corner
motions for time keeper for time-in
then says Fight in the center of the ring and proceeds to watch the fight.
What Cortez did:
Stops the fight and starts berating Ortiz on how bad he is with his head and takes away 1 point, MUTTERS "fight on" which fighters cant hear, Cortez is miced up so we can hear at home, but fighters cant hear him mumbling as the crowd is yelling,
Mayweather and Ortiz hug it out while Cortez has his back turned to them talking with the time keeper, he should have never allowed this
LOL....Clearly you watched a different video....
jr did go in for a hug then as they pulled back he let go so he made a effort to convince him there was a break then all of a sudden he swings if that isn't hitting on the break while the ref isn't even paying attention
there is nothing honorable about that win jr is testing this karma notion to the max
Ref never mentions anything about breaking....Joe clearly asks if the bell rung....yall making up stuff....Mayweather was wrong for hitting him but don't blame Cortez or try to act like Ortiz wasn't partially responsible...after all Ortiz has already hugged, kissed and then touched gloves with Mayweather prior to the punches that ended it.
People are overanalying this. He's not Mayweather. He doesnt do pad work. He just started doing that type of stuff with Richardson. Thats why he always looks like crap and misses. It doesnt mean anything. He just doesnt have a lifetime or coordination with it like Floyd does. His dad or his other trainers never did it he said
Sure about that? Jump to 1:40....He looks like crap cuz he's OLD!!!
When Kobe Bryant first hit the scene in the NBA people were ranting that he was trying to be too much like Michael Jordan. Maybe he was initially but at some point he carved out his own place in history and created his own legacy. Broner is no different. Let the kid grow and let's see how he turns out.
Cunningham had me nervous and feeling anxiety. He does not know how to keep his fight calm when things may not be going his fighters way..
It's funny that you can make an assumption about how best to relay things to Devon while not knowing either Devon Alexander or Kevin Cunningham. I would think that Kevin if anyone would know how to best communicate with Devon seeing how they have trained together in some capacity since Devon was a 7 year old.
At either rate. Are yall discounting Kevin's other World Champion? He did train Corey Spinks as well. I'm not very familiar with Joel Diaz outside Bradley and his past career in the ring. What other well known fighters does he have?
The same Spinks that just got beat by K9 Brundrage? Just checking
For your information....No....he no longer trains Corey Spinks....Buddy McGirt had the honor....but nice try.....You have to give credit for Champions whether you want to or not.
Lucien Bute? Wlad? Vitali?
Bute? No...not yet...not enough good comp on his resume. But soon.
Wlad? I'd agree. I think he gets the shaft because he's so dominant in his division and there's no competition. I'm no fan of Wlad but I'm more comfortable with him being in the top 10 than Hopkins.
I don't see how losing helps anything. If anything the loss may be attributed to all the negative things going on in his life/finances in the background. Maybe he was distracted in his training for a very game opponent. And that could be the cause. But the one thing the loss may do is help him realize he has to clear up all those other distractions if he wants to be successful going forward.
He also trained his brother Arnaoutis I think is his name...But he is fairly new from what I gather from him..As far as how to talk too Devon in the corner, all I now is it did not look like Devon responed well to the instruction he was getting.TBH I did'int think he was getting anything sound my self.Box him Box him Box him is not great instructions. He need somebody to reel him in and calm him down Cunningham was not that voice.
As for him training Spinks, you talk as if Spinks is some great champ??He beat Mayorga who has'int? Then get's his ass handed to him(IMO)twice by Judah. So please..
Great Champ or not he was a champion.... It's as if you don't want to give credit for his fighter's achievements. So you try to belittle them to make them seem unimportant. Who else has Joel Diaz trained that has achieved the elite level or Alphabet Champion? I'm not saying Diaz is not a good trainer but you simply can't discredit Cunningham based on your opinion. You can argue your opinion all day.....Can't really argue facts....
