Is he scared, is it pride, ego, paycheck or what? Froch already fought Ward in the US, the obvious thing for Ward to do (just like Kessler did) is to now fight Froch in the UK.
Ward has been seen as a hometown whore for a long time now so fighting Froch in the UK will repair his damaged reputation. But Ward's manager said something about them only fighting in the UK if Calzaghe comes out retirement to face the winner.. basically a crazy demand which is almost impossible to fulfil.. so it seems they don't want the fight to happen in the UK..
What's the reason.. does Ward have such low confidence in his skills that he doesn't think he could beat Froch in the UK?
He would get paid double, and in euros not dollars.
Imo its his brittle hands vs a granite chin. He cant stop froch ,but no can,
Guy has too much character and heart.
And he will likely wins a decision in a competitive fight
But only risk another injury.
We dont even know if he is the same .
Lacy who sucked had a shoulder injury and never recovered
Why did they even fight in the first place?
gtfo you pacifist ! what are you doing in a boxing forum x D
(they fought because they where participants/finalists in the super 6 tournament, duh )
Another post where your nationalistic pride is commendable, but the rest of this is crap. What did you see in the first fight that makes you think Ward would have low confidence in a rematch? Do you think somehow Froch magically comes up with the hand and foot speed to compete with Ward. NO! Speed is god given, it can't be trained into you. Froch is an easy guy to cheer for. He is willing to fight anyone, anywhere. But he just doesn't have the pure boxing talent to ever beat Ward

Ward would end that nice thing Carl has going..
Similar beating in Britain would cut Sky PPVs for a while and seriously damage Froch's marketability imo. British press can be harsh..

Ward froch ii 2014
Ward seems to be insecure and afraid of losing. He knows he's not strong enough to KO Froch, and he wouldn't have a home ref to allow him to foul. And in the UK he may be tested for PEDs.
this is the truth boxing fans! remember ward has been working with Victor Conte (old Victor is one of the biggest wizards in the performance enhancing drugs business)
In the UK this matchup would be a different scenario with a decent ref sorting things out. Its well known how prone Ward is to use questionable tactics..
(excessive holding/clinching, headbutts, elbows, armlocks, low blows)
Ward is like a combination of Bernard Hopkins skillset and slickness & Andre Dirrell's alertness and footspeed all this along with the Sven Ottke
hometown record/ref/judges and loud (but kinda small) crowd
I dont think Ward is necessarily afraid, but i think he is a smart guy.. and he knows what will happen if he goes to the lions den :crucified
he cant keep going in circles so lets keep poking Ward and adressing the subject :poke:
..at some point (hopefully 2014) this fight will happen, im definitely going to watch it live just like i went to see Kessler II in 02
so if he did beat froch with one hand , why did they postpone the original fight-date because ward suffered a little scratch on his forehead during sparring (while wearing a padded helmet) ??? wouldnt a broken hand be more of a reason to delay the fight than a tiny scratch that might open up on fight night??
a froch rematch wouldn't be a horrid fight, but what i really want to see is a fight with stevenson in canada, or a fight with kovalev in vegas, AC, or oakland.
the judges would need a huge set of balls to rob ward, given that he so easily dominates froch, but that would certainly be on the minds of the ward camp. ward fights go the distance. he's a boxer, doesn't have a ton of pop, and doesn't beat the f#ck out of guys.
Great post. Froch-Ward II would be interesting in the UK, for sure. The atmosphere would certainly help Froch. But, the TV money is in the US.
Ward worried about hometown decision....
anyone see burns last fight, or malik scott not even getting a full count,,,,
that is why ward is reluctant
The Burns fight was a joke, but Malik had himself to blame. Feather-fisted Chisora would have KO'd that American hype job if he'd got up earlier; the guy had no heart. He wanted to quit.

JMM earned another fight with floyd when he KO'd manny, but there is no need for it to take place. Tim earned a manny rematch, you wanna see that? I don't.
Yes froch is the 2nd best 168 lber in the world. DO I want to see or think a rematch is warranted, No. No disrespect to Froch.
I'd rather see ward leave 168 and go to 175. A rematch with chad is more warranted than a froch reatch because chad wasn't at 175, but even hat rematch isn't high on my preference list.
dawson was knocked the hell out in his last fight, and ward completely annihilated him. american TV would never pick that fight up.
i can't see how you could possibly think that to be a better fight than froch at 168. froch didn't win more than two rounds against ward, but he's the best fighter at 168 not named andre ward, and it's the best fight at 168.
even though the majority of wrong decisions have come from US judges....
even if they are in our country judging, the misjudges havent come from UK judges.
but who are these judges being paid off by?
uk promoters
