After Khan was upset by Lamont Peterson last Saturday (and for the record, I thought Khan was robbed the ref for the bulls**t point deductions, and by the judges, I still had Khan winning 114-111 with the ref's BS), do you still want to see Floyd Mayweather fight Amir Khan in late 2012???
After seeing Khan struggle greatly with Peterson, who is a good fighter-in his prime, I just don't see him getting the Floyd fight, unless he does something really great his next two fights (Spring and Summer 2012). Lets not forget, Timothy Bradley whooped Peterson a couple years ago, and while triangle theories do NOT always work, it can't be ignored. Bradley deserves the Floyd or Pac fight more than Khan now, especially if Bradley beats Maidana, Ortiz, or Berto at 147 first.
The only way I see Khan being deserving again of the Floyd fight is if he beats Peterson convincingly and easily in a rematch this next spring, and than if he beats the Berto-Ortiz II winner. That's it.
So, do you still want to see Amir Khan fight Floyd Mayweather in late 2012???
you didn't answer my question. Why do you obsess over wanting to see floyd lose?
SO khan is the next best available challenge after Manny? What about sergio martinez? cotto? How did you arrive at amir, because feddie roach said so?
Well im assuming wont take the most serious challenges like Sergio and Pac. So that is why i have mentioned Khan as Floyd wants to fight in England. Cotto is Pacs leftover so i wont even go there, and considering Floyd ducked him before its too little too late there.
Im totally unbiased, i have no legion towards Pac or Floyd. I just think the credit Pac gets he deserves.
I want Floyd to lose because anyone who gets more recognition than i think they deserve needs to lose.
Well Floyd sucka punched his last opponent so that wasnt a satisfactory ending to be qualified to take on Pac.
Funny thing u say khan hasnt earnt the right to fight Floyd, yet when Pac controversially beat JMM, Pac supposedly chance of beating Floyd went down, and people were saying Khan had a better chance against Floyd.
If Floyd fought Khan RIGHT NOW, it owuld be looked at as a crappy pick. For one, Khan is coming off a loss. Second, Khan has never even fought at 147 lbs and is yet to do anything there, and he's not highly enough rated to jump straight up to WW and fight Floyd. Ricky Hatton on the other hand, was #4 P4P, unbeaten, and had fought at 147 lbs before when he fought Floyd.
You said in another post "Floyd won't wait until Khan is at his peak or prime" or whaever....Khan is 25 years old, he's in his prime. I think Khan hit his prime at 24 in 2010. He's not going to get so vastly superior to how he is now with another year two.
Manny hit his prime at 23-24 in 2002. Floyd generally hit his prime at 23-24 in 2000-2001. Khan is in his prime, or do you think he's not going to hit his prime until he's 27, 28 years old??? People like Sergio Martinez, who's going to be 37 next year and looking better than he EVER Has....they are 1 in a 1,000 or so.
I also love how you say Floyd doesn't fight people in their prime, but yet you defend Khan. Barrera and Judah, 2 of Khan's biggest wins, they were past their primes, and way way way past it in Barrera's case.
Floyd doesn't go into big fights with guys coming off losses or crap perofrmances. The only time Floyd went into a big fight with an opponent coming off losses or a bad performance was Zab Judah in 2006, and at least Judah was in his prime in 06'.
Manfredy, Corrales, C. Hernandez, Chavez, Castillo, N'dou, Judah, Hatton, Ortiz, all were in their primes and only Judah wasn't coming off big wins.
G. Hernandez and J.M. Marquez were past their primes-still good, but at least they were coming off good fights. Hernandez had only lost once, and it was 3 years prior to fighting Floyd against De La Hoya. Marquez had lost to John 4 years earlier, but it was controversial and most people thought Marquez looked good and won. Same thing with Marquez' loss to Pacquiao in 2008, most thought he'd won.
Gatti, Baldomir, De La Hoya, and Mosley were past their primes, but all were coming off wins at least. Gatti hadn't lost in over 3 years, coming off 5 straight wins. Baldomir hadn't lost in 8 years, coming off a huge win over a prime Judah. De La Hoya had lost in 04' to Hopkins, retired, came back and KO'd a prime Mayorga prior to fighting Floyd. Mosley was coming off KO wins over Mayorga and Margarito, prior to fighting Floyd.
So, don't knock Floyd just because Amir probably f**ked up his shot at landing him, unless of course he comes back and whoops Peterson in the rematch, and than beats the Berto-Ortiz II winner. That's all he can do to get the Floyd fight, in all reality.
And just for the record, I actually thought Khan won the fight, even with the BS point deductions.
Well, apart from Pac and Floyd every other boxers seems to be a nobody. If Pac and Floyd arent fighting each other you have to look to the next best available.
As everyone other than Pac and Floyd is a nobody, Floyd should fight the nobody called Khan.
you didn't answer my question. Why do you obsess over wanting to see floyd lose?

Huh? what? I don't understand the 1st paragraph.
Khan has not earned the right to fight floyd, who is the biggest draw and the best fighter in the sport. Now i'm sure you think manny is, but khan hasn't earned the right to fight manny either.
I feel bad for you and posters like you. WHy do you want to see floyd lose so bad?

The 4 guys supposedly next for floyd: berto, sergio, khan, and manny all either lost or looked like sh*t in the "tuneup fight."
Man just tell manny to stop the heal from cut bull**** and fight on May 5th.

Never wanted to but for damn sure Floyd would of took the BIG REWARD LESS RISK opportunity...
May 5th is Floyds date and my points bets that it will be with a Mexican opponent.. FLOYD DONT WANT TO FIGHT PACMAN period..
Manny can't fight because he needs reconstructive surgery on the paper cut by his eye.
Floyds only had two fights since his comeback are you sure hes earnt the right to fight Khan?
Khan is as qualified as anyone to fight Floyd, people want to see it, Floyd said hed fight Khan, Khan wants Floyd, so whats stopping it?
I suppose Khan wants to avenge the loss, thats what is stopping it. So floyd shouldnt have waited for khan to lose should he have? I suppose the danger is Floyd will lose as well in his next fight. Just get in the ring already Las Vegas or wembley.
You and freddie need to stop obsessing about beating floyd. I know you want to see floyd lose, but if you keep stressing about it you get crazy. Think about this.

No one said Khan would be favourite against Floyd, but just because Khan wouldnt be favourite, its no excuse not to fight khan is it?
Khan would still be up there in peoples opinions of people who can beat Floyd, along with Pac and a few others.
you have literally lost what remnant of a mind you had left
He didn't say floyd shouldn't fight. He said Khan hasn't earned a fight with floyd and if he had, he didn''t think Khan was good enough to beat him. Stop *****ing. Amir cost himself.
Manny has earned a fight with floyd but has a massive, terrible, requires plastic surgerycut to heal from. Martinez at 154 is someone who many think could beat floyd so he has earned a floyd fight.

You see i hate this attitude. So Floyd might as well not fight, because he is expected to beat everyone? Gatti didnt have much chance but that didnt stop Floyd fighting him, and people wanting to watch it.
Just get in the ring with Khan already, because lets face it, Floyd isnt going to wait until Khans at his peak is he? Floyd dont work like that. Why wait so long for khan to slip up so you can have an excuse not to fight him?
Just get in the ring already at Wembley stadium.

I said it's a legit fight. I wouldn't mind seeing it at all. I just don't want anyone getting their hopes up :lol1:
Yeah. Nil. It's a legit fight, but in the same way that the Ortiz fight was a legit fight. He's a top rated fighter today, definitely not a cherry pick. But it's not even CLOSE to even. Not even close. For all you people saying "such and such could beat Floyd!" Let me help you out - no they can't. There isn't a dude in the world at an appropriate weight class who can beat Floyd. He is far and away the best fighter in the world.
I ain't a Floyd fan by any stretch of the imagination but he's leaps and bounds ahead of the field.

Bradley has a win over Peterson lol
Also Abregu, Vazquez, Alexander, Witter, Holt was all undefeated/very useful when Bradley beat them.
His resume sh1ts all over Khans.
Agreed. I always said this, but Khan fansd s**t to me for saying that. Bradley, if he grabs a win over the Berto-Ortiz II winner or Maidana at 147, I think he'd be deserving of fighting Floyd or Manny. Same goes for Khan initially, but after seeing him struggle with Lamont, and I had Amir winning, he needs to redeem himself in the rematch, and than have a huge win over Berto or Ortiz.
Khan's notable fights so far:
2008: Breidis Prescott- L KO 1
2009: Marco Antonio Barrera- W TD 5
2009: Andriy Kotelnyk- W UD 12
2010: Paulie Malignaggi- W TKO 11
2010: Marcos Maidana- W UD 12
2011: Paul McCloskey- W TD 6
2011: Zab Judah- W KO 5
2011: Lamont Peterson- L SD 12
Prescott (loss), Kotelnyk, Malignaggi, Maidana, McCloskey, and Peterson (loss) were in their prime, while Barrera and Judah were past their primes-not even that good at all anymore. Granted, Judah was coming off wins, but he wasn't the same guy he was back in 05', 06', and 07', Judah's last "prime" years.
Bradley's notable fights so far:
2008: Junior Witter- W SD 12
2009: Kendall Holt- W UD 12
2009: Lamont Peterson- W UD 12
2010: Luis Abregu- W UD 12
2011: Devon Alexander- W TD 10
2011: Joel Casamayor- W TKO 8
Holt, Peterson, Abregu, and Alexander were all in their primes when Bradley beat them, and 3 of them were unbeaten. Witter was past his prime-still good when Bradley stepped in to fight him, and Witter hadn't lost in 8 years (he had wins over N'dou, Kotelnyk, Corely, and Harris in that time span). Only Casamayor was way way way past his prime when Bradley fought him, and I guarantee that was more of a keep busy-get back in the ring fight than anything.
I'd like to see Bradley make the jump to 147 and fight the Maidana-Alexander or Berto-Ortiz II winner in June, when he said he wants to fight again. Either that, or stay at 140 for fights with Guerrero, Rios, or Alvarado.
Just get in the ring with khan already Floyd! Stop waiting for khan to slip up to make excuses to not have to fight him. He was robbed so its not a proper loss. Khans chance of beating Floyd is as good as it was last week.
So Floyds going to wait for Khan to beat Peterson, Bradley now? Floyd will probably wait too long and Khan will lose again controversially. Just fight already.
Yeah. Nil. It's a legit fight, but in the same way that the Ortiz fight was a legit fight. He's a top rated fighter today, definitely not a cherry pick. But it's not even CLOSE to even. I only want to see Floyd fight opponents who have never had any trouble with anyone EVER!!
Styles make fights. Peterson is vastly different from Floyd.
If by different you mean inferior, then sure.
