Do you think Floyd can sell 750,000 ppv buys vs Clottey or 950,000 vs Bradley without the big names in his undercards?
Floyd all ppv fights aways has great undercards and so did his last fight. Take a look at this example and see the names plus the Mexicans big event just around the corner.
Cotto
Mosley
Canelo
Cinco de Mayo
I need to go back and read what you were discussing but I want to point out:
You should be putting a few *(asterisks) next to your points because they need to be explained properly.
- The Mosley that you speak of hadn't fought in about 16 months before he faced Floyd ... even Floyd said that his game plan will take in mind that Mosley is OLD and of course rusty. What did Mosley do just months after Floyd? In Mosley's last 4 fights, he has 3 losses and 1 draw .... but more importantly, Mosley looked awful in all 4 fights .... He also didn't look too good in his fight with Mayorga.
- Cotto was not ready ..... but Floyd is good at picking opponents that are not ready, green, naive, had little to no fights in a division .... so Floyd wanted to take advantage of that in Cotto .... just like he did with Hatton at WW, Marquez at WW, Ortiz at WW
Floyd fought Cotto recently for the money ... it wasn't because he thought Cotto had a chance ..... most of us thought it was only about the money.
Did it ever occur to you that Floyd can fight? You butthhurt guys kill me, lmao!
It never ceases to amaze me how the haters/Pac worshippers on this site can convert piss into fine wine and call filet mignon bullsh.t.
Floyd fought Mosley after Mosley's biggest win in years against Margarito and at a time when Mosley had won seven of his last eight fights (only loss was to Cotto). Roach turned down a Mosley/Pac fight after Mosley KO'd Margarito because Roach said he was too good. But, Pac fought Mosley after Mosley was dominated by Mayweather and scored a draw against Mora (I guess he was no longer too good).
Cotto was in his prime at 140 when his promoter and manager refused to put him in the ring against Mayweather, who at the time was three fights removed from 130 pounds. Margarito lost to Daniel Santos and Paul Williams before he was KO'd by Mosley. Enough said!!!!
This message board proves that stupidity is contagious.

The irony. Floyd fought grandpa Mosley as well and weight cheated lightweight Marquez. Faked his retirement to duck the elite young prime Cotto and Margarito.
You aren't even worried about the truth, lmao. You just want to piss some of Floyds fans off lol. If you believe that crap you just wrote, then you're not considered a boxing fan. You just want to argue some fiction...

it is true though, you get what you pay for
i payed $15 for a extremely boring ppv, pac couldn't even knock down a guy on one leg
You mean the guy Pac broke his two legs and sent him out in a wheelchair? I laughed so hard in that one.
No real boxing fan gives a damn where the fighters comes from. Martinez speaks no English and comes from a country that I couldn't locate on a map, but I love watching him fight and will actually buy his PPV against Chavez Jr. because it will be a competitive fight between two quality opponents that could go either way. The same cannot be said about the mismatches and crap that Bob Arum has been trying to force feed us in the form of Pac/Mosley, Pac/Margarito, and Pac/Marquez 18.
Arum built Pac's reputation by putting him in fights against Morales, Marquez, Barerra and even De La Hoya. After the De La Hoya fight, he has fed us a steady stream of garbage fights instead of the one fight that everyone wanted to see three years ago. That is why Pac has not been drawing the numbers that Mayweather has. It has nothing to do with where he comes from or his ability to speak English.

The fight was $54.95 USD
Rebate was $40.00 USD
If we round the 54.95 to 55 then you can take away 40 and get $15.00
Antagonist, how can you write crap like this? You know that Pac worshippers can't round up!!!!!:dunno:
Pretty darn good for a guy from a 3rd world country.. I guess u guys want to ignored that part lol. This dude who speaks broken English and comes from a different country and still manage to make those numbers, props!

people who keep saying it was 15 for the PPV are stupid. Your opinion does not count. floyd can do numbers but it definitely adds numbers with a dance partner if you want to lie to yourself. That's cool but you aint fooling noone.
Umm I'm not black rofl. Nice try though.
You are disgrace to your ancestors by disowning them. Now back to the topic and stop this assuming of yours.
Absolutely not. However, if you combine the real PPV numbers for Pac's last three opponents (Bradley, 600,000, Marquez, 900,000 and Mosley 700,000, total 2.2 million) instead of the numbers that Bob Arum claimed to have, Pac came close to selling the same amount of PPVs as Mayweather/De La Hoya. There's nothing wrong with coming in second.
Exactly, lmao.
ts = pinoy version of D4thincarnation lol
he's angry 24/7
So for you every Pac fan is a pinoy just like you must respect the sacrificed of your slave ancestors owing to them why you are a proud black now in America.:boxing:

Nike, HP, Hennessy, KFC they rather have Pac endorsing their products than Floyd. Why?
Yet, with all those endorsements, Pac still made $30 million less than Floyd did in the last year. Amazing!!!
i dunno why ppl think mexican-americans make up a majority of ppv purchasers. the def make up a small contingent that u always want to have, but this idea that they make or break ppv numbers is simply absurd. the reason floyd and manny sell a lot is because they are recognizable to the casual fan. its quite simple. the average person on the street knows who floyd mayweather is, just like they knew who oscar de la hoya is and who mike tyson was before him. they do not know who canelo alvarez is. no matter how hard u wanna believe it, most americans dont recognize the kid and they would not purchase a fight just to see him fight. i shouldnt even have to tell u think if ur american, but most of the ppl who believe this drivel probably arent. smh.
and mexicans-americans recognize manny pacquiao. they know him, they buy his ppvs. canelo would not help him increase his numbers to some extreme point. thats nonsense. the bottom line is u cannot sell a million ppvs if u do not have the support or name recognition among the casual boxing fan. canelo may add a few thousand mexican-american fans sure, but definitely nowhere near a majority. id be surprised if it was above 5%
If what the fans who claim that Alvarez significantly helped the Mayweather PPV card was true, that means that Alvarez's upcoming PPV against TBA (Austin Trout, Cornelius Bundrage or some other nobody) should sell at least 500,000 since he is such a tremendous attraction among Mexican-Americans..
