Hey Tyson, Sosa was actually Paul spadafora's leftovers. Another guy who floyd could have fought to gain some cred.
well everyone is everyones leftovers if we are gonna get into that, i was sayin leftovers because it seems to me that if floyd fights someone like Sosa or a Corley its not good enough, but then cotto goes and fights him and its the biggest thing in the world, or he fights and beats ricky and oscar and pac does it faster and its like floyd never done it,
Well id say floyds Ricky Hatton was unbeatin at the time, Oscar De La Hoya was fighting at the weight he wanted to fight at, Carlos Baldomir was prob in the ring at 170pounds and floyd didnt lose a round and boxer very smart against someone who eats punches,
Zab Judah was tricky southpaw and this was a real 50/50 fight till the later rounds, Sharmba Mitchell little bit of damaged goods but still had enough in him, floyd worked body well. Arturo Gatti was never and will never be in the same class as floyd, this was is brake out fight but, Henry Bruseles was nice easy win, DeMarcus Corley dangerous guy at a new weight, not big hitter but, he was also good enough for guys like Cotto to take on after floyd, Philip Ndou was unbeat i'm sure hit hard and would walk down floyd Victoriano Sosa again good enough for guys like cotto to fight after floyd so he couldnt have been that big a push over.
For pac, Ricky Hatton had already been knocked out by light hitter floyd mayweather and swarmers like him dont last against good guys like mayweather or pac,Oscar Dela Hoya has been damaged goods since before floyd beat him but still, David Diaz was the champ that everyone wanted to fight cos he was easyest to beat. Juan Manuel Marquez in eyes of many has now beat manny twice, and twice he didnt get it, the first fight he should have won cos he boxed the ears off manny. Marco Antonio Barrera was done after the first manny pac fight and its been proved since then he doesnt have wat it takes now, Jorge Solis not much to say here Erik Morales comin off an excellent asskicking by manny lol Oscar Larios not in same class as manny good solid win Erik Morales- beatin :D Hector Velasquez good win but not in same class
Clean Effective Punching
Effective Aggression
Ring Generalship
Defense
Floyd mayweather in all of them, Manny is aggressive, and against sitting targets like Ricky, Oscar and Diaz he looked like he could box and even counter, but thats against guys like that, he cant box against floyd, so he will go back to throwing silly punches. Floyd is a MUCH better FIGHTER! this poll will prove 2 things, Alot of people hate floyd so much they are willing to say manny is better just cos he is more fun to watch, and 2- there are still some sane people who no floyd is better
Cortez contributed to hatton being KOed
Yep i'm pretty sure if you watch the replay enough times in slow motion you can see cortez PUSH hatton into the check hook that knocked his ass out!
My boy is 10month and he watches fights with me already, well when he isnt throwing things about lol
He will be 18 month when he can come into the gym, he watches me hit my bag at home already and jst sits n smiles n its only time he doesnt crawl about tryin to mess things up
A really great fighter that is a top 50 guy. We will also remember him as a guy that he coulda been the next Leonard but failed because he didnt take on some HOF's like Cotto(i am just assuming this). Coulda been a top 15 guy.
So now he's a top 50 but if he beat Cotto, who has done nothing but beat guys floyds beat and beat up smaller guys, he would be in top 15? a dont get it?
Sam Peter didnt have an amateur background if I remember correctly
He had amateur back ground, its in the ring mag in the "New faces" bit i'm sure, its a old mag with lewis, tyson, byrd corrie sanders and jones all on the front cover. cant be sure but im kinda sure lol
What people need to remeber, comments like, mma is for thugs, its just street fighters etc etc. Boxin started off, with 2 guys fightin till 1 guy couldnt stand lol alot of fighters would drink between rounds so late in the fight they wouldnt feel the beatings, and in the bareknuckle boxing, there was wrestling holds allowed... but thats not the point.. point is... The top level MMA guys like G.S.P, Anderson Silva, BJ Penn they guys are best at THEIR sport, Mayweather,DeLaHoya and Jones wouldnt stand a chance in a cage, They guys wouldnt stand chance in the ring BUT. GSP, Silva n Penn all train with MMA, so boxing is involved they have a level of boxing skill so they wouldnt get destroyed in a ring. But boxers only train stand up, they get killed in the ring.....
Dana white and Don King should get together and put on a card with boxers vs mma fighters lol
There are fights, where you lose your prime in one bout, you are never the same a peice of you stays there.Fights like Toney-Jirov, Taylor vs Chavez, Gatti vs Ward, Corrales vs Castillio, fights like these were the punishment was brutal and destroyed the fighters in the fights, after that he was on the downside! You could even say Toney was never the same, his defence really started to leak after this fight
I always figured UFC was full of dry humping queers but now I know that at least their champion is gay.
What a bunch of gays, getting paid to fight with 4oz gloves on, or gettin paid millions in wrestling, gays man i dont get it
They won't approve Jenning for Cotto..
**** them then, Jennings is not a mismatch! I seen his last fight live, he is a good pro and is very strong at his weight i dont think he would beat cotto but there is that little somethin shown by jennings sometimes that makes you think he is alot better than he shows, well a do anyway
An "All Time Great" like Ali and Lenoard are forgivin for losing to people they shouldnt have lost to or for not fighting fighters the possibly could have fought
Legends are guys like Hopkins, Jones, Mayweather and Lewis who will not get the full respect they deserve untill they have long left the ring, look at Lewis now, everyone talks of him as if he was the best thing since sliced bread just because he shown everyone how weak HW is without him
Tons of current UFC fighters tried their luck at boxing at first and quickly found out it's something they would never be good enough for and went to MMA. Seems like your average joe can become somebody there.
A see your point, but also guys in MMA that are champs or been champs have went to boxing, Vitor Belfort, Anderson Silva and Andre arlovski have all had boxing matches, not sayin they can make it as boxers, but they have tryed both sports.
It seems to me that only boxing fans have a problem with MMA, when guys like Foreman and alot of younger fighters like Cintron said he'd like to test himself in MMA, even Ali used to go to K1 and pride events
I enjoy how much everyone says, ufc suck, its this, its that, its not as good as boxing, BUT everyone talks abouts it, everyone has seen fights on it, and most guys in the ufc are household names, its crazy
I'd bring back Medrick Taylor, Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns and Mike Tyson
But to be honest, i'd much rather put fighters back into the good old days rather than bring a few good into a shit era, id put Hopkins back to when the Fab Four were fighting, id put tyson into the Ali era, Manny pac and Floyd mayweather back to where the Wille and the Sanders were, that would be alot more fun
boxing is more than a sport, thats like trying to compare tennis to track and field, see one is just a sport... the other is a way of life.
Both is a way of life, and i hope you werent tryin to downplay MMA as just the type of sport were you dont have to be in the best shape to do it, cos youd be very wrong, without the handfull of fighters that look like they belong in a hotdog eating contest most MMA fighters have some amazing bodys which cant be said for alot of boxers, UFC even have a heavyweight limit of 265, something boxing should have brought into play along time ago, then maybe the heavys wouldnt be looked at like a waste of someones spunk.
The point is, MMA and boxing is 2 different sports, one wants to see who the better fighter is, and one wants to see who the better boxer is, theres lots of silly ways to look at both sides.... mma is for blood thursty dumb guys, boxing is for guys who wanna fight, but wanna take out everythin else and just punch each other in certin parts,
WHO GIVES A **** REALLY MMA rocks, boxing rocks, both have there good fighters, both have shit fighters, both make money, both lose out on money, both will survive, neither will ever get put out by the other :)
I'd say floyd has slightly faster hands, mannys are hella fast and harder to deal with because you dont no how many he will throw at you, floyd throws 1s and 2s
