What does being a reality star have anything to do with level of talent??
everythin... if your a reality star, fans are not goin to want to see you lose and promoters and matchmakers know that. that's why they feed the reality stars fighters to beat on to make them look good or fix the fight in favour of the reality star. if you saw the matt hammil vs michael bisping fight, you know for a fact hammil won that fight. but they gave it to the home crowd guy and the winner of the show. forrest griffin had the cinderella story. he won the first show in an excitin fashion, climb up the ladder beatin up on lesser talent and "won" the light heavyweight belt.
Ultimate Fighter, like someone else said the contender is over dramatised and lame, i dont need to hear sound effects all the way through the fight.. but still Boxing > MMA
Actually, that is only a sign of what low caliber fighters are in the UFC. In boxing reality stars go on to get demolished by legitimate champions.
In the UFC, reality stars go on to beat "legitimate" champions.
What does being a reality star have anything to do with level of talent?? Griffin legitimately beat rampage jackson who I guarantee you would have you shittin yourself if you had the misfortune of meeting in a dark alley
But its MMA.... A guy that knows how to brawl with a lil highschool wrtestling could do something off the Straight of the street.....Know wha i mean.
you don't know what you're talking about. keep your opinions on boxing, thank you.
I like the contender because it's boxing obviously and I don't like MMA, but the Ulitmate Fighter seems to have more of high caliber fighters on their show that actually go on to do something. (see: Forrest Griffin).
forrest griffins's fight must have been fixed. there's no way that guy shoulda won. he may have had a higher work rate in the fight, but he was hittin nothing. jackson's shots were much cleaner, but he wasn't impressive either that fight.

The Ultimate Fighter makes for far better TV for one simple reason. All of the fighters are young cocky princesses trying to pound their chest and be "macho".
Makes for good reality TV, but little else. The fights are shit, the training is shit, it just big brother with fighters and more drama.
The contender however is a serious show with seriously aspiring fighters. Guys with families, trying to make a better life for themselves. Not guys there to look tough on TV.

i haven't caught too many shows of the contender, but from what i saw it sucks. they make it seem too hollywood with stalone in it.
the ultimate fight is equally as shitty... you got a bunch of idiots that get all rowdy in a house and think they're mma fighters because they can throw a punch. some of them are good, but most of them are grabage.
they both are good marketin schemes, but they both fail in my opinion
Ultimate fighter. They actually showed what makes a fighter a fighter. Like the practice and cutting weight. Contender chose to focus on fighter's backgrounds. Ended up being a bad idea because it was half of each episode but everyone had the same story. "I grew up in a rough neighborhood" "im tired of working 2 jobs " "I do this 4 my family"
id say UFC......dont get me wrong, i like boxing better than mma but the reality show goes to UFC. they should stop putting some parts in slo mo with the contender and just let it beeee.......
The Ultimate Fighter is better , you never see anyone from the contender in a high profile fight , where a good few of fighters from TUF have challenged for the title
I watched the very first season of the contender faithfully because there was a boxer from my neighborhood on it. Nick Acevedo. After that, i tried to watch the second, and third season, but could'nt deal with all the action film effects/music that they used. TUF goes in depth into the fighters training, and shows the entirety of thier fights without any editing and special effects.
Vote, and state your reason.
ultimate fighter is the better reality show but that's only because the difference between an elite boxer and a fighter on the contender is so vast.
Depends on what you are looking for.
If you wanted fighters with good stories, and people who are real athletes at a contending level of their craft fighting to get back into the game, or to get a chance at the game the Contender.
If you want people acting like 13 year old children, swearing, fake displays of machismo, insecurity, homoeroticism, low rent athletes, weak displays of heart: the Ultimate Fighter.
In other words, it's clear to see that TUF was a better REALITY show and catered to the trash low rent audience that Dana White and the UFC loves. As a reality show, TUF wins.
Did you wife/girlfriend leave u for an mma guy? U sound very bitter towards them!
