Don't get me wrong; as a fan, I love to watch the guy fight. With the exception of the Nobuhiro Ishida fight, he is very entertaining to watch. But, in all honesty, he's a very limited fighter. It seems rare that all action, high volume fighters have long successful careers and I don't see him as being one of the exceptions. I do think that he is his own worse enemy in regards to his career. But, I also think that, potentially, him being out of the ring for the moment will save him from some punishment and IF he does ever get his career back on track, will give him a few more good years and us a few more great fights.
No, that's stupid. And he's more than a face 1st brawler. He's a brutal pressure fighter that outlands opponents 3 or 4 to 1. He's in his physical prime, he needs to fight. Now is the time to fight top opposition and make as much money as he can. The longer he sits, the worse it is. And it appears he is no longer with the Wolfe either which I'm not pleased about.
Cause he likes the fish & chips in merry olde England. I don't see Eddie making too much noise since he was embarrassed by that 5'6 South African fireball. He's done for all intents and purposes.
I don't think Paulie's agenda is hidden. It's very much out in the open. He's basically jealous of him and incredulous at his success. It's not rational but he is clearly bothered by Pac's success. Pac would stop Paulie in less than 6 one sided rounds but Paulie still did well in the game and reinvented himself after Lou DaBully dumped him. Paulie should let the rhetoric go with Pac et al, he sounds ignorant, like he did arguing with Broner on "side pieces."
Difference is Bradley showed no respect for Provo. He treated the fight like it's a tuneup fight or just something to get over with. He traded, and didn't move as much as he did in the JMM and Pacquiao fights.
yeah, that's a good comment. he thought it would be a walk in the park and Provo was primed to kill. Plus, Bradlay had been off after the Pac "win" recovering from foot, ankle thing and he blew up in weight like never before during that long time off. He had more a fat camp than anything for Provo. Nearly cost him. Definitely cost him some brain cells. I really appreciate Bradley's candor too. He's an honest, real guy.
Groves done
Dirrell would KO Groves. Groves is very timid now. Dirrell a true athletic marvel and now a bit battles tested with his 24 rounds with that brute Bika.
rick glaser is a buffon. always has been, always will be. its sad a guy like that can get people to follow him just based purely on hatred for an actual boxer. this guy cares nothing about boxing. everything he says or does is to get attention for his failed career in the boxing industry.
I think you're right. he is a bitter, angry man. That said I think he may get proper info. As an aside, his continual verbal assault on Lou DaBully over a disputed $7500 tab is hilarious.
Didn't see fight. I understand it was close and many people still thought King Arthur did enough, although not as widely as the judges stated. Don't like to see fighters screwed but have no sympathy for Fast Eddie Hearn who orchestrated the Burns v Beltran robbery. He owes Raymundo the belt and an an apology. Until he rights that, I'll never care what happens to him as a promoter.
When they showed Chino at the very end, his love handles looked massive. Garcia knows boxing but he knows nothing about recovery, nutrition, energy systems etc. Could hurt Maidana not being handled scientifically but I'm rooting hard for him. Gotta figure Ariza could have been more of a benefit to Chino with the 8 weeks to work with as well.
Andy Lee is a spindly legged ostrich. Cotto would have no problem cutting down the Irishman.Lee gets hit a lot and Cotto's shortness, I believe, would bother Lee.
Love was fighting on his backfoot, he was bobbing and weaving and jabbing constantly, all those slick "sweet science" things that distinguish a real boxer from a euro/asian bums like GGG and Krusher.
Your thoughts.
My thoughts - you are a troll or an idiot, maybe both.
Seemed like there was so much more real emotion between maidana and his kid than floyd and ... well anybody. Kinda makes you feel sorry for floyd in a way ... yeah he's got more money than god but does he have anybody that would cry at the thought of leaving him?
Yes, Floyd is damaged goods. Much rather be in Maidana's skin than Floyd's. Floyd's life, as opulent as it is, is very shallow. Does not look fun.
That's old but still funny. Elie clowns these ignorant mofo's like floyd sr. and James Toney. They don't fully get he's laughing at them and the viewers are laughing at them.
That video is gold and Tyson is right. Stupid ass, inappropriate question. Guy is lucky to get out of there without a lump on his head. Tyson was steaming.
Dwyer is an intelligent guy and I enjoy his pontifications but he does seem to have a big blind spot at times. Gotta love the post above with his cat. And he once had a smoke detector that needed a battery replaced for about 2 years. lol
Holyfield is 100% correct. Champions fight the best, period. Navigating a career coming up is one thing but when a fighter is flirting with all time greatness and you, yourself claim that, you have to fight top opposition. Anything else comes off as very hollow.
Kovalev by KO between 6-10 rounds!
Thing is Hopkins says Kovalev has one bullet to beat him. That is a completely ridiculous comment. He's acting as if he needs to land a lucky bomb. That is simply not true. Kovalev is long, versatile, quick, uses feints and can touch a guy, body and head, easily. And he will begin touching Hopkins too, early in the fight. I really think Nard finally made a bad matchmaking error for himself - a rarity and is in for a world of hurt. Do NOT be surprised if Hopkins feigns a foul to exit this fight. He will be working the ref for as long as it lasts. This is a fight that Kovalev can win EITHER way - decision or KO. But in spite of Nards defensive prowess and ability to stink out a fight, I still lean towards the KO route for this loss. Kovalev is too fierce and with all the subtle things he does, he is uncannily heavy handed.
