I saw that interview yesterday and I was a bit dissapointed. Froch deserves a shot, he's the #1 challenger and yet it's going to be between the #3 and the #12 for some reason?
It's a shame but DiBella said that it's all about the money and Froch just wouldn't get enough interest going in the States.
Supremely talented fighter who divided opinion like no other. I'm a Brit, I thought he was a cock, I still think he's a cock but I agree that he was a great fighter and a great entertainer.
Shame that he retired so early after that loss. His punching power was pretty incredible, they didn't look like much but then the other guys would just fall to the floor.
Hmm, doesn't sound too good for you guys over in the States.
We're lucky. Setanta Sports recently signed a deal with HBO so they show all the big fights now. I wouldn't fancy having to spend out on PPV for every fight I wanted to see...
There's got to be #3 really. The first one was a no contest, the second was spoiled a bit by the clash of heads so to settle things they should have one last fight.
If this fight happened five years ago, Roy Jones easily. I have a huge amount of respect for Jones, his talent and what he has achieved in boxing.
However I'm going to have to go with Calzaghe on this one. Very likely to be his last fight and in the States, I think he'll prepare well for this one and come into the fight pumped.
Joe Calzaghe by UD.
Roy Jones has to be put back into the top ten P4P if he beats Calzaghe. Calzaghe is many peoples #2, so I'd at least put Roy in somewhere down the bottom of the list.
He won, he got the KO, his stock raises ever so slightly.
It's not the most exciting thing in the world but he gets the job done. Viewers wouldn't turn into boxing fans after watching Wlad in a fight like that, but hell, he's still the champion.
How many fights are there on the undercard? Anyone know what time approximately Wlad and Thompson will be out?
Looking forward to settling down to watch this later.
You only become great by beating great prime fighters not a 67yr old one eyed Roy.What makes it worse is Roy even knocked this guy down.
Tarver KOd Roy,so did Johnson and then the Slapper of Wales couldnt, how can we call him great
So you're not going to give Joe respect for the win?
It's a shame that Calzaghe still isn't getting the credit he deserved. I'm not saying he beat a prime Jones, far from it. But Joe is simply a great fighter, no doubting that at all.
He couldnt even KO Roy when Roy had one eye,
The win against Roy cements Joke's legacy of fighting has beens and nobodies.Joke and his father would need to be seriously deluded if they think they are great because they made a career of fighting old people.

I knew this would just turn into a, "Dana White is a cock..." thread.
There's obviously a conflict of interest here. Firstly people have to realise that he is an MMA promoter, so he's going to try and spin the figures his way. Just like boxing promotors will spin the figures their way.
Boxing is still the number one fighting sport in the world, no doubt. But MMA is growing and Boxing could learn a bit from the UFC. Most specifically I'm talking about the way the UFC promotes not only their fights, but their fighters and the way they are appealing to the younger generation of fans.
I love both sports so I hate comparing them. I think boxing does have a lot of life left in it but it can't just rest on its reputation and stay the way it is, because people will want change pretty soon. Stronger undercards for big PPV's needs to implemented fast.
