Hatton and his ineffective aggression. My favorite punch of the night was in the 8th when Hatton came rushing in and Floyd gave him a lead right and Hatton fell forward and was hugging Floyd at the waist to keep from hitting the canvas. Lol
Lol, he didn't look young that's for sure. Style of fight and opponent aside, when's the last time anyone's seen ggg look that tired and shaky on his legs? I've never seen him look that gassed...and so early on too.
I know it makes the ggg hate club feel better to say he lost in his prime, but cmon man, he's clearly lost a step.
Give Canelo credit. He was putting that body work on him. That's the reason.
Is that you Floyd? Just because he didn't lose, doesn't make him TBE.Lots of guys woulda beaten him prime vs prime.
He's number 1 because he makes top fighters look like rookies.
I find it crazy. Rewind to early 2017 and these two were thought of as iron-willed killers. Now look where they are. I can't decide which is worse, Kovalev falling to pieces as soon as someone roughed him up and gave his own medicine. Or Golovkin talking about how he was gonna stop Canelo, before backing up for most of the fight and looking like a beetroot at the final bell.
Yeah, they finally put them in there with folks with skill that punch back. Easy to look like a beast against the Dominic "House Arrest" Wades of the world. I liked Kovalev though, he would fight whoever with no excuses but GGG is a different story. Canelo did a public service by disciplining him.
canelo gets credit, but ggg was looking gassed between rounds early...not sure body shots was the cause. he's 36, and he looked like every bit of it in there.
He's 36 with minimal wear and tear because he hasn't fought the level of competition to put him through wars. Jacobs banged him up some and that's about it.
Exactly.
But the fans of GGG are the worst.
They are salty
A bunch of them were saying win or lose "no excuses" before the fight. That didn't last long
That’s not how boxing works bro canelo landed some big shots but he didn’t win rounds after the 4th
I know that's not how it works but you insinuated that all Canelo did was jab which was not true. I was just pointing out that it wasn't true.
His fans dumped him after the Ward discipline session, like they did Lucas Matthyse after the Danny Garcia fight, and has anyone seen Pac Boy since May 2nd, 2015? It's just how they roll ,Larry.
Mikey and Loma are champs at 135, Tank is at 130. I think you meant to call for the Mikey/Loma fight next since they both moved to 135.
If so, I agree that after Loma beat Beltran, he and Mikey should give us an undisputed champ at LW.
Mikey seems preoccupied with going after Spence. Loma and Tank were in the same division and only 1 division apart now. their names keep getting mentioned together so I'm just wondering.
Fury is no where near ready for someone like Wilder. For his own sake, Fury needs a good few fights before that happens... he's still trying to lose the weight.
We'll see how he looks in his next fight.
Brooke had gotten dropped, an eye socket broke and basically beaten into submission. As the fight ended, Spence looked unmarked. So what is your definition of "giving him all he could handle?". Spence was never in danger of going down, never hurt, and contrary to the commentators, every judge had it in Spence's favor at the time Brook quit. So no, this wasn't a close fight and Brook knew it wasn't close that's why he quit instead of taking another 4 minutes or so of abuse.
Brook was getting the best of him the 1st 3 rounds but that was about it. He was countering everything Spence threw and making him miss. After that...well, you know what happened
If Hearn can guarantee that AJ is next and that it will not be some absurd flat fee offer when they fight in April, I say Wilder needs to take this fight.
Then again, with Fast Eddie, the devil is always in (or missing from) the details...bet Eddie wants it for DAZN and if that is the case, it may be dead in the water.
I agree with this unless he can get the Fury fight. If he gets that fight then screw Whyte.
Not hating on the man, but it irritated me that people considered him up there. He is not, and never has been the calibre of fighter that Loma or Crawford are. He has got nowhere near the talent, tools and versatility that those guys possess, and he certainly hasn't done it in as many weight divisions.
Golovkin struggles against good fighters, those two wipe them out. You could probably throw Mikey in there too, and Usyk in recent times. To me Golovkin has always been a little overrated and a back half of the top 10 p4p type, great fighter, but too limited to be considered that high, he is a physically domineering one weight type fighter.
Things changed once you match GGG with people that fight back. I'm talking about vs Jacobs and Canelo. After all that time he finally fought someone worth a damn. Didn't look so invincible then. Bum fighter
Man, I've mentioned a couple times in here that I hoped Fury didn't pull the rug from under Wilder. Wilder's had his heart so dead set on this fight that if it didn't happen it would devastate him. This would be bad.
OOOOOMG. I heard s much about how GGG won the 1st fight because he came forward and because Canelo ran now the standards are different for this fight. GGG clearly lost, get over it.
