Kovalev was never on his knees, in either fight...

From there it was grapple, clinch, bend and hold, headbutt, low blow for Ward, showed the world how masterful he is at fouling and dirty tricks... But not before giving Tony Weeks some props, knowing he’s on his side...

Lol..
I'll be watching cuz I actually like Kovalev. and without Ward around he's the best at LHW.
but all that boogeyman talk is over with. Ward took that man's aura of fear away. he's just a fighter now. not a monster.
I remember all those posters predicting Ward would never take the fight and he could get killed literally if he does... good times.
I never stated Andre Ward could get killed but I am one of those that thought as well as posted that Sergey Kovalev would beat Andre decisively in the 2nd fight and also posted that Andre probably wouldn't give Sergey a rematch after the 1st fight.
I was wrong and Andre Ward fought a great fight; I admit it.
I'm looking forward to the fight this Saturday and want to see if Kovalev is still improving under his new trainer. I'm also looking forward to listening to Andre Ward commentary and analysis starting in mid August and its too bad he's not starting early so he could commentate on the Kovalev fight tomorrow night.
We will be tuning in. We are the face of boxing still, look all around and realize it. Golovkin, Kovalev, Lomachenko, Leo Santa Cruz, Ryan Garcia. We run this, it's our era.
The fight seems to be doing well. Tickets are at least $80 in AC... and as much as I want to go... $80 for high seats... would rather watch it on TV.
Really excited about both fights!
Heartrending all the concern being shown by Kovalev haters. Makes me want to vomit....or, maybe it was that last tequila shooter, not sure.
Anyway I’ll sure as hell be watching
Really is sad how people bailed on him. There was a time when nearly EVERYONE on this forum had good things to say about him and loved the guy. Fans can't handle it when they make big statements about a guy and that guy loses.
I've still got huge respect for the guy and I'll be watching for sure.
Kovalev was never on his knees, in either fight...
He was sitting on the ropes in agony dude... Crying for his life to be spared... :)
Seriously though... Alvarez might happen to be a brilliant fight, and also an upset... ;)
Why is there no buzz or all the support from the past??To be fair, Kovalev never had THAT big of a fanbase. I think he deserved his fanbase more then GGG as well, I think overall p4p Kovalev has ALWAYS been a better fighter than Golovkin.
Not a fan, but I'll definitely watch that fight. Should be an excellent skill matchup, and it's nice to see Alvarez FINALLY get a legitimate shot at belt/star(ish)dom.
Why is there no buzz or all the support from the past??
What??? CoWard ruined him, remember? :dunno:
I'll be watching, might even BBQ if it would ever stop raining.
Honestly, maybe the division, idk. He lost to Ward which I felt he was one of the two highest level opponents. With Ward taking the W and retiring, Kovalev suddenly feels less meaningful. At this point, he can be the keeper of the division while beating the young guns trying to come up and take it from him, but he'll only be remembered second best at the top to Ward.
At least he's mostly fun to watch so there is always a reason to tune in.
SOG send kovalev fans on suicide watchFUK SOG. He is safe in retirement while the older Kovalev is the champ. This Kovalev fan would love for Ward to fight Kovalev a third time. Suicide watch up your ass. Bring on SOG PLEASE!
I can't believe this card isn't on in the UK. Why do I pay so much money for sky, bt and box nation? I'll have to stream it but streaming is usually awful.
Loads of events aren't picked up in the UK anymore. Mikey Garcia's fight last week wasn't on. Might get worse too, what with Sky getting the DAZN fights from USA, i can't see them picking up many others outside of that, unless it's a massive fight.
Seems like BoxNation are just seeing out some sort of contract or something before ending the channel. Warren's biggest fights aren't even on BoxNation anymore and they barely pick up any boxing from USA now. I think it'll be gone soon. Someone said their main investor died not so long ago too.
BT should try and get more international content.
