The Purrity fight was over 10 YEARS AGO....Wlad was only 21 years old.
Wlad beat the living shit outta Purrity for 10 rounds and completely ran out of gas....Wlad collapsed from fatigue
The Haye/Thompson fight was only 3 YEARS AGO....Haye got knocked out by a 41 year old light heavyweight.
Are you serious man? Haye had only 10 fights to his name at the time and Klitschko had over 20 from what i am remembering. Haye was also beating Thompson at the time he was stopped. This is the double standard that i am talking about. Why be a critic towards him when you guys have a favorite fighter that has an infererior resume to Haye when he only had that many fights. Who did Klitschko beat when he only had 15 fights? Thompson is also a natural cruiserweight.
Sweet
Wladimir has been knocked out by worse fighters and i haver noticed that you are pretty big fan of his by occasionally browsing through these forums every once and a while. You are in no position to be clowning Haye kid. Ross Purity was a journeyman and never held a title, and he stopped Wladimir in similar fashion. I sense a double standard here. Carl Thompson was actually a crusierweight champion and i actually seen that fight live, back in 1998 if i am remembering correctly.

The way they stand... It reminds me of them.. Like they're alike.. I don't know.. Clottey throws those tight and quite compact hooks, just like Green. All Clottey is missing is the mouth to go with him.
I just can't see it. Clottey stands straight up and has a high good defense. Green's hands are sort of next to his chest and he fights out of a speed boxer style. I can't see anything comparable betwen the two.
Sweet
Not at all. Clottey's defense is far sepeior, hes alot faster and has a better variety of punches and different weapons. Green can box, but he doesn't really use his height and he is also plotting in a way. Green punches harder pound for pound, but Clottey is cleary the better all around fighter.
As far as looks goes, no offense but you're pretty far off on that too. They look nothing alike.

Says the people who play a pussy arse version with crash helmets, padding and jock straps, "touching" each other "down" every two minutes.
Bless
Football is a rough tough sport and you break bones instead of a finger nail like in rugby. I mean no offense when i say it either, but it is just completely gay for men with long hair and short shorts playing and smillilg over getting a ball and tickling each other when they finally get it.
Sweet
Look at Cotto vs Margerito, Cotto is the better boxer, he's faster too - but once Margerito starts landing all that goes out the window. Saying Joe Calzaghe is elusive would be comical, he may have fast hands but that's only because he puts nothing behind them. The actual speed difference isn't big, Joe just throws shorter punches and allows him to throw them in volume, Pavlik hit's him even once and he's gonna feel it. On top of that, Calzaghe won't be hurting Pavlik any time soon.
Perfect example and i agree.
Sweet
I would slightly favor Taylor over Calzaghe becuase i like his straighter and harder punches and the fact that he is proven on the elite stage. Oh and i am just hoping that the british are not talking about weak sports. I always though that rugby were for gay men that likes to play around on the ground and tickle each other.

Jones would get annihilated by any good heavyweight, he should retire or or go after a good name that would be a winnable fight so he can retire on a good note.
sweet
Klitschko has no chin and if he feels Haye's power, then he would be staring at the ceiling. You can really tell that a fighter's chin is weak when he even sees the punch coming and is till effected by it. Haye also has a weak jaw, which makes this fight so intruging. Either fighter will be knocked out if the other tastes the other power. What has the heavyweight division come to? In the old days, you have two power punchers that could feel the other's power for the full 12 rounds. :nonono:

Eric Harding and Thulani Malinga were world class fighters, as was Virgil Hill. Harding was able to give Roy a spirited fight before succumbing to an injury. Malinga and Hill both had success on a world level after losing to Roy in one-sided fashion.
Those are actually perfect examples. Jones didn't know what to do with Harding and neither fighter took the fight. Jones himself stated that Harding was his toughest title defense. These guys are also not elite boxers or upper elchelon. Nunn and Hagler were both elite and pound for pound quality.
Virgil Hill was never world class. He lost to a fadded Tommy Hearns and hasn't beaten the elite when he stepped up, same as Malinga.
Sweet
Robinson is the only one i'll entertain. I used to think G-man would beat him too though lol....I used to think he woulda beat anyone. I STILL think he woulda knocked out Hagler..
But nah, I don't see any of those guys touching Roy, except MAYBE Robinson.
If you look at every southpaw that Jones has fought, then you will see that both Nunn and Hagler would bee too much. MCclellan beat Jones in the amatures by using effective pressure and roughing him up. Jones couldn't handle that style or power. Robinson would have surely beaten Jones. Better technique and he also had the adaptability to bring the fight to Roy.
Sweet
Jones is in my top 20. He has the telent to be the best. Although he does not have an all time great resume. He only beat two great fighters, neither was at their best. Mayweather has even beaten better fighters that Jones has.
Sweet
I don't know about Nunn dude. Hagler of course is arguable but I think Roy woulda outboxed him, maybe with some trouble but still.
Hagler would make Jones fight the way he made Hearns fight. Jones didn't like ugly fights and wanted to be cute, Hagler just wouldn't allow that.
Yeah I know but it's the amatures. I'm talkin about prime for prime. I could see Jones just bewildering McClellan with speed and movement.
McClellan has the height, reach, power and ability to make the pressure style work for him. I give him a great shot, especially considering Jones's chin and all. Jones often layed against the ropes and that would give McClellan his oppurtunities. If the fight is in the center of the ring, then McClellan would be a student at Roy Jones university.
LMAO do me a favour
PBF has beaten Oscar Dela Hoya and if Toney was weight drained then so was Corrales
PBF next best oponent after that is Castillo who acutally pwned him once
Gatti ,Baldy are not better than Reggie Johnson or even a 40 year old Mike McCallum no to mention Virgil Hill
Corrales was not weight drained, Toney was. Explain how Corrales was weight drained when he beat about 7 more fighters after his lost to Mayweather at that weigtht division, which was super featherweight. Toney moved up to light heavyweight right after his loss to Jones. I can give you many boxing articles that stated Toney circumstances. He had to be hopitalized and had to hooked up to Ivs before the bout to avoid fainting. Hatton (Unbeaten)
Corrlaes(Unbeaten)
Boldimr(Undisputed welterweight champion)
Genaro Hernandez(super featherweight champion)
Oscar De La Hoya( Junior Middleweight champion)
Jose Luis Castillio( Multiple lightweight chmapion)
Zab Judah( Former junior welterweight and undisputed welterweight champion).
These are not even it. These fighters alone are better than Jones opposition. Now, you go over Roy's opponents so we an compare them. I am very interested in seeing how he beat better line of fighters.
please elaborate on this, who are the two great fighters roy beat.
Hopkins and Toney are the two great fighters that he has beaten.
name better fighters that mayweather has beaten.
See above
You have to be reminded of the circumstances of these fights. Virgil Hill was coming off of a lose to Daruis, Jones fought him in his very next fight. Mike MCCallum was very old and past his prime respective weight class. He was a natural junior middleweight. The best fighters that Jones beat were, Reggie Johnson, John Ruiz, Bernard Hopkins and James Toney. Those are the only wins that stands out.
Sweet
No they weren't, but they were certainly world class. Hill, as it stands, is one of the best Light Heavyweights of the last handful of years, simply based on the volume and longevity of his career.
Eric Harding was a damned good boxer at his best though. Again, not an elite fighter as you stated, but a fine boxer nonetheless.
Agreed, Harding could have had his hands on a title but the division was too hot. He was the first to beat Tarver and was on his way to beating the second time, but was caught with a counter left hand and knocked down 3 times.

Boxing_Prospect is an ignorant son a bitch slick. He sent me red K and i didn't even know what for. Hes a fucktard kid. Do like i did and ignore him.
Sweet
If this is based on skill, then i must agree with the above that Jones would have be the best talented wise. However if this is judging on accomplishments, then Robinson would have to be the man.
Sweet
Southpaw,
You should have kept that guy on your ignore list. He is a waste of time and i refused to argue with him. We all know that you are better than this and is a great poster.
Sweet
I make one error and that makes me an idiot? I rather be a horrible speller than an illiterate moron noob that doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Did i spell all of that correctly?
Sweet
Any biased poster will admit that Calzaghe's wins are more legit and overall better. His opponents were far more accomplished than the green Hopkins or the weight trouble Toney. On paper, Jones has the two best but Calzaghe has the best overall. Besides, who knows what Lacy or Kessler will accomplish in the future.
Sweet
Please Rampage is a champion, he would devour Slice. He is just on another level when it comes to overall skill an talent. Kimbo is mainly a one dimensional fighter that only has the big left hook and any skilled top fighter would pick him apart. Rampage has experience from the pride tournaments as well.
Rampage by 2 round KO.

Age won't be a problem with Guzman because he has not been in any wars and does not have any wear and tear on him. There is a difference between boxing age and age in general. Bernard Hopkins, Nate Cambell Joel Casamayor Joe Calzaghe has all had the most success of their career's over the age of 30. Guzman should be fine, he is young in boxing.
