Andre Berto vs Joshua Clottey: Who Wins?

I would take Clottey, but because of his workrate I think Berto has a better chance against Clottey than he does the other elite WW's.

bump...i see this thread interesting now. Clottey is praying every night for a meaningful fight, hes like the forgotten elite at ww. Berto is belt holder at ww but had a very difficult first defense of his title just few days ago and while he showed heart and will, it wasnt really his show, he went through a big and very close fight to get a debatable ud while many ppl thinks he lost. who you got now? I have Clottey.

Yeah I like Berto but I doubt he is ready for this level of competition yet. I would pick Clottey, probably by a mid to late round KO.

Having not seen Berto in against top level guys, its hard to say. He could blow Clottey out of the water, but from what I have seen up to now, I have to go with Clottey.

I'd be cheering for Berto, but I wouldn't be betting on him.

I love it too, especially when it's not De La Hoya being called out for a change. He called out a guy he wants to expose, and I think that's awesome. He probably knows Margarito won't fight him, Cotto is going to be in hibernation for a while licking his wounds, and Williams would probably handle him. Berto is a great guy to call out. Clottey wants Margarito next but he thinks Margarito doesn't want the fight. So he said if he couldn't get Marg than Berto would be next.

Andre Berto is Bob Papa and Max Kellerman's love child and nothing more thus far. They're just doing their job, I know I agree...Clottey has a field day with Berto..Gotta love how he called him out on live TV!! No not hate but reality, the reality that Berto has been in softer than the snuggles fabric softener bear. Oh!, and that he has been down vs that soft opposition. You know both Ali and De La Hoya took a lot of shit for a couple of knockdowns early on in their careers. Both of those men had absolutely amazing careers, and were later praised for being nearly impossible to stop. Not saying its gonna turn out this way for Berto, but the truth is we havent seen his ceiling yet. He could turn out to be something special. That said, if the fight were made tomorrow I would definitely be leaning towards Clottey.

Like I said in an earlier thread about this potential match-up...I got Clottey in a UD or Tko by the 11th round...Berto is a DAMN GOOD fighter but Clottey will not get hit by Berto punches...Clottey has GOOD defense and he will eventually catch Berto....IMO Clottey loses the first three rounds and will start picking Berto apart...Just watch and see if the fight is made! I'm telling ya..Clottey is for real!!!!

Clottey is too techincally seperior and would exploit Berto's defensive flaws and would win a UD in my opinion. Berto is not at that stage yet. Sweet

Clottey would knock him out right now i dont think berto ready. he needs to improve his defense a little more i just think at this point clottey would be too strong for him. i would love to see this fight down the road though!

Im pretty Sure Clottey would win. I like Berto but he's not ready for Clottey type of fighter yet.
