ROY JONES JR: IF THERE'S NO CALZAGHE REMATCH, I'M GOING TO HEAVYWEIGHT!
By G. Leon
GL: Is there any update as it relates to your next move? "No, ain't nothing, Just kicking it here and everything is everything you know, I'm just laying low until we see what's coming next." GL: Have you or John Wirt reached out to Calzaghe's people to see if they are still interested in the rematch? "Most definitely they're interested and he told me that when he got back from the Holiday he would let me know what he's going to do. I'm very interested in the rematch and he is too, so we'll see what happens. Before we last spoke he also told me that if he was going to fight again he was going to fight me, so I'm looking forward to that and if that's what he does I'll be ready."
This was on boxingtlak and i could only get the free part as im not a member, Why doesn't Roy just retire, hes going to get seriously hurt and it would be an absolute tragedy to see a fighter who could never be hit in his prime end his career with slurred speech or even worse some sort of life long injury.
True. It was a one-sided ass whoopin. What does Calzaghe gain by whoopin him again?
the same thing he gained the first time he fought shot roy jones. money.
what about prime roy!
A primy roy was campaigning at light heavy weight, but if you mean the non shot Roy that fought Ruiz then he probably outpoints Sam Peter in what turns out to be a very boring affair, unless Sam lands somthing big. I think the perfect fight for Roy at this point should be held at home on a game consule, if not he should fight Chris Byrd at 175 I dont see him beating anyone else.
I'd pick Sam Peter without even blinking. Standing up to a 40 y/o Jones and Vitali Klitschko are two entirely different situations.

Sam Peter vs Roy Jones
Who wins?
I'd pick Sam Peter without even blinking. Standing up to a 40 y/o Jones and Vitali Klitschko are two entirely different situations.
LOL @ RJ
He should just retire now cuz he's had a great career anyway, even though he took the easy route on the way. The more he fights on the more he will taint his legacy, if he wants to go out on a win that bad just fight a bum and then hang them up, going to HW is laughable.
And I hope that wasn't true about Joe considering a rematch, if Joe rematches him I'll lose alot of respect for him.
Will HBO allow Roy to fight any heavyweight because, ultimately its them who are going to pay his wage and they have said there making no more mismatches and everything they show will be competitive? so lets just hope HBO keep to their promise and forget Roy has even mentioned moving up to heavyweight.
It surprises me that Roy who used to be cautious about gettting hurt, would make it difficult to fight some fighters and now even after getting ktfo, he wants to take on the heavyweights again he going to get hurt. I hope he didn't lose his money and if he is fighting its for the love of the sport and out of urgency for money thats where fighters get hurt and take the fast cash. But as long as Roy doesn't fight a young hungry lion, he might not get ko'd but if he's going up against a young tough up and commer he going to get in a fight his body proably can't handle anymore. Best of luck to Roy Jones Jr.
Link or its not true..
Anyway, even if he said this, I dont believe it. Roy Jones Jr. sometimes talks shit like this, like fighting Lennox Lewis, then even moving down to a 156lb catchweight to fight Delahoya, and so forth.
Roy is one of my favorite fighters, he needs to hang them up.

it is true
horrible... although i do think roy beats valuev....
if thats all evander had to do to win that fight, roy could beat valuev... but no other title holder
Jones would get annihilated by any good heavyweight, he should retire or or go after a good name that would be a winnable fight so he can retire on a good note.
