EXCELLENT NEWS. All these promoters do is prevent big fights from happening or overmarinate fights. The networks should work directly with the fighter. It saves money and allows the fighters to make more.
Want them to do well but as I understand they're losing money. I don't think the boxing model Will Survive for them. Maybe they will be bought out by turkey
Will not order this event because I already know the result. Why would I pay 80 bucks for something where I know the result. However I will always buy and support an event that is a competitive matched height
I think the biggest problem is the fact that boxers avoid the biggest challenges and the big fights rarely happen or take way too long to happen. Boxers are also are not active enough and there's way too many belts and weight classes
Huge reason have to do with the ratings. A significant reason is the ratings are just not there anymore. TV networks need ratings. Secondly one of the reasons for lower ratings that there are less American stars. I don't mean to be mean but Eastern European Fighters will not catch on in America as it's a foreign country. Again it's not their fault but ratings are ratings and that didn't help. But at the end of the day the budget for boxing shows are too high. Fighters are overpaid
Very few television companies are interested in boxing anymore. According to Rick Glaser ESPN and top rank are done. So really all that you have left is dazn and you also have Amazon Prime and maybe Netflix but I think they will only be in at a very small scale. No one buys pay-per-view anymore and that is a good thing. Boxing needs to have a different business model. They need to stop over paying Fighters
I honestly think no more than 100,000 and that's predominantly in europe. Probably did terrible in usa. It was a good fight but these guys are unknown and there's very little Marketing in the USA for these fights
I think the whole point is amplify the influence of the Kingdom but there's absolutely no point because you can get a much better Roi doing things other than spending on boxing. Boxers are tremendously overpaid beyond their commercial value and there's no point. You can do a lot more impact by investing in other sports that have higher viewership.
If they are smart they leave. What's the point in signing up is for it where the best don't fight each other are overpaid and demand Pay-Per-View fights for even fighting a halfway decent contender
There were some rumors this was happening. I long expected it and it kind of makes sense. The money that they are paying these Fighters does not make sense. It's just not generating revenue or ratings or anything. The problem is is that boxing purses are too high and they need to come down substantially. Until promoters stop over paying these guys for no reason the sport cannot be fixed
Seems like something is up with them. There's not many alternatives to espn. If they go with Amazon Prime they do not give budgets for boxing so their budget will shrink. Daxn is at the end does not have any kind of budget really either and as an app there pretty much dying. So the sport is in big trouble. But as I said that's good. I want the boxing promotion companies to lose their contracts so that Fighters have to fight tough fights to make the big bucks. If boxers continue to fight bums for Millions the sport is in deep trouble
Another huge problem no one is discussing is there too many weight divisions. This prevents the biggest fights from happening especially when there is four champions in each division. Boxing needs to reduce the amount of their weight divisions just like the ufc.
Vitali retired far earlier then wlad. Wlad had nearly 70 fights and faced much better competition overall. In terms of mythical matchups Vitali will do better but wlad is better more skillful and accomplished
His chin is underrated. Every time he went down I thought it was over but he kept getting up. Same with Corrie Sanders who hit like a beast yet Wlad got up every time.
Wlad was far better. Vitali's resume nowhere near as good, hence the reason why Vitali looked the better of the two at times. In terms of mythical matchups Vitali would do better but Wlad would beat Vitali for sure.
