American promoters are going broke but they just don’t want to admit it. What is sad is that they had decades to come up with a plan and has some sort of commission that would’ve made everybody $$$ and kept the fans happy. Instead we got TR,PBC and GB barely spending $$ thinking a network will save them and the well is drying out. Arum promoted to the best of his abilities but the last 5 years been terrible since his cronies took over. Todd Degoof ran the ESPN deal to the ground. PBC burn bridges with every American sport metro L’s and since now Amazon doesn’t give them a budget. We are left with 4 boxing cards the whole year on Amazon. De La Hoya even with the strong Mexican fanbase in the west coast sucks ass as well. They don’t even stage big fights in LA or Vegas. Small domestic venues

Once the contract is up ESPN should bring back Friday Night fights and use that budget to work with all promoters.

As I have reported on this site many times, ESPN will not be renewing their contract with TR after it expires in 2025. Instead, ESPN will focus their efforts in promoting UFC fights. TR must find a new network to televise their fighters, and currently the Saudi’s are not looking to sign a multi fight deal with TR as Turki is not a fan of Bob Arum given his cooperation with the US government regarding the laundering of Kinahan money through Warren, Fury, and TR themselves. But he still does trade with Fury and Warren. Why would he single out the Bobfather and not Brickstop and the Irish Traveller

Obviously I hope they get with Amazon don’t would be easier to make fights with PBC. Would be great to have all of American boxing on one platform and get 4 fight cards a year lol

True but my hope is that Amazon WILL give a budget if they get TR and GBP on with PBC. If they do then they will have a monopoly on American boxing and tha should incentivize them to fund the shyte out of the sport. hopefully!!! From what I am hearing PBC is pondering spreading to other networks…possibly Discovery and Netflix, and looking to get into business with an economically powerful conglomerate of domestic black investors. We will see what direction they go but I would say they really need to make some moves soon

The problem is hardly anyone watches the sport on television anymore. Online streaming is the future of boxing. They don’t have to say it but ESPN has lost money on Top Rank. Both its viewership and audience has declined. Which is why they have push its time slot very late into the wee hours of early Sunday mornings because of the size of its demographics are very small.
