Vitali. No great goes life and death in their peak vs Sam Peter having to rely on excessive mugging n fouling to get through.
Vitali at least showed how to properly take care of d levelers.
vitali had a better chin and was a better ring general and would beat wladimir if they fought.
wladimir had a much, much better career. both will be in the hall of fame.
The only thing that made it the "worst" era ever for you is the fact that it wasn't an American or British fighter at the top of the mountain.
Now that Joshua, Wilder, and Fury are the top guys everybody believes we are in a heavyweight revival. It is absolutely delusional.
The weakest eras ever were the Larry Holmes and Joe Louis eras and those two are regarded as the greatest of all time. I wonder why that is.
We definitely can agree to disagree.
I've never seen a more dreadful era of lack of Heavyweight quality, depth or competition than the Klitschko era.
No problem, we agree to disagree. I'm okay with that.
Wlad fought all of the top contenders and Vitali only fought about 5 people that were in the top 10 his whole career. So not really.
They both have their fair share of bums, as does any champion, but Vitali's basically made up of entirely bums and severely overmatched competition and cruiserweights, whereas Wlad actually fought the top contenders and other champions.
I agree, that's why I say Wladimir is the better Champion. Other than Joe Louis no one had more title defenses.
The Klitschko era was dreadful though. From 2004 to 2014 the lack of depth, competition and talent was horrid. But they did dominate their era, particularly Wladimir.
I just feel Vitali was tougher. Wladimir the better champion, Vitali the better fighter.
No biggie, we can agree to disagree. That's cool.
I think Vitali was the better fighter whn both were in their prime. One of Vitali's best assets was having a great chin that his brother didn't have. Vitali was never knocked down in his long career and he fought many big punchers. When it comes to a champion's responsibility to defend his title often against top contenders I think Wlad did a better job of that than Vitali so Wlad was the better champion.
vitali is also a better natural fighter. meaning he can be close range and rip short hooks with both hands to the body and head.
Wlad freezes up and needs room to operate.
Vitali is greater imo. He stopped 2 guys that definitively beat Wlad. That's Purity and Sanders.
Wlad beat Byrd but Vitali pulled out himself.
Last saturday has me just thinking if that was Vitali in there. Joshua would've been TKOed against the ropes. Wlad has just so few punches. jab. left hook. right straight. he has no upper cuts. no body shots. no right hooks.
Vote, post, and discuss.
All in all, who was the better champion? Who was the better fighter?I think Vitali was the better fighter whn both were in their prime. Vitali by a mile. Won or was winning every fight he was in. Never had the hell beat out of him. The war with Lewis was a classic. He would have beaten him without the cut and was beating him. Lost very few rounds in his career. What more could he have done?
Vitali retired far earlier then wlad. Wlad had nearly 70 fights and faced much better competition overall. In terms of mythical matchups Vitali will do better but wlad is better more skillful and accomplished
Wlad was overall, you can't argue with his longevity and title defenses but...Vitali was the better fighter or I'll say I prefer Vitali over Wlad. Vitali had a mean streak, Wlad was skilled and powerful but his style bored me.
The Klitscko's dominated the worst and I mean worst era of Heavyweights in history. Void of talent, depth and competition.

The both of their resumes are virtually the same. They are from the same era. The Klitscko's dominated the worst and I mean worst era of Heavyweights in history. Void of talent, depth and competition. Ironically their best performances came in losses to Anthony Joshua and Lennox Lewis.
I say Vitali was the better "fighter" because between the two, he was tougher, had the better jaw. The better champion is Wladimir for me, but between the two Vitali was the better "fighter", he had more grit.
I mean they're both good. Just my opinion on what I think of the two.

Vitali was the better fighter based on what? beating up bums his whole career and losing in a great effort to Lewis?
Wlad is techinically better, resume craps on Vitali's and was a longer reigning champion.

Based on resume would deffo put Wlad above, he fought the better fighters and was the more dominant champion but I 100% feel Vitali was a notch above Wlad as a fighter
Vitali looked the much harder and tougher guy to beat, he was going to beat Lewis before an unfortunate cut happened, he would have gone on to beating Lewis if the Doctor didn't step in and that was a prime version of Lewis he was toying about with, so Vitali it is for me.
Vitali was better... He was stopped twice from injuries (while he was in front on the scorecards).
Better champion: Wlad because of the 10 year reign.
Better fighter: Vitali because he had more variety in his offense.
Wlad found one style and perfected it. His size and reach was a huge advantage over his competition. The last few years (minus the Joshua fight) Wlad was unwatchable.
There was a time when Vitali was the better fighter but that ended a long time ago. By 06/07, Wlad was well on his way to being the complete, modern heavy. By 2010 he was one of the very best fighters in the business and arguably, p4p, second only to the likes of Pac, May and Martinez. I don't think Vitali was ever at that level. Yes he hit hard and yes he was quite durable but he was a lot slower than Wlad, had less punch variety and his footwork pretty much sucked.
Wlad also held more titles for a combined, longer period of time. So all in all, it's Wlad.
