Still think he'd be competitive with anyone but certainly no longer at the elite level. The Manny that beat Bradley and Vargas would have wiped the floor with Horn however the lethargic and rusty Manny we saw would have lost to bradley and Vargas and I strongly stand by that. I'd like to see Horn in with my guy who's also the new #1 contenter...la maquina lucas matthysse. Hopefully third time lucky for him
I imagine it'd go down exactly like the Soto fight. Soto started fast, landed more shots, went to war for 4 rounds then Lucas' shots started to accumulate and he became the first person to stop Soto. I don't see anyone outslugging Lucas tbh.
Firstly who the fook said he hits like a super heavyweight, and secondly if anyone middleweight punches another clean on the chin he is going to sleep. Canelo isn't feather fisted. He's no GGG but he will put you to sleep if he lands clean.
he landed cleanly on chavez for 36 minutes and couldnt knock him down?
Yeah and George Foreman couldn't drop Ali whereas Frazier nearly broke his neck. Triangle theories have never worked and never will.
Utter tripe, boxing is about hitting and not getting hit. Knockouts are just a bonus, this makes no sense whatsoever. Floyd embarrassing McGregor for 12 rounds will be much harder to take for a man of his ego.
He would handle Liam Smith with ease IMO
LOL, that's a good one. Liam Smith is beyond European level and fringe world level. McGregor would struggle to win a British title. :bottle:
Pacquiao-Jeff Horn is a bigger mismatch than Mayweather-McGregor. McGregor was never 10-1.
Behave, Jeff Horn was on the Australian Olympic team. He's actually been a boxer perfecting his craft. Disrespectful to compare him to McGregor when speaking from a BOXING point of view.
What's the deal with his eye issues they all sorted now?
Yeah it was swollen badly after the Postol loss and he was meant to return a year earlier but they wanted to give it extra time to heal and now they're ready to rock n roll
Matthysse doesn't hit hard enough at the world level. Not at 140 anyway, so hows he gonna do it at 147?
I beg to differ, Devon Alexander, Zab Judah, Corley and DG all claim he’s the hardest puncher they’ve faced and that includes the likes of Cotto, Thurman, Maidana and Provodnikov. Power won’t be an issue but his size may be a bigger factor.
I rewatched it a couple of months ago and as a Floyd fan but neutral I tried to be generous and I honestly couldnt score Floyd winning, I had it 116-112 castillo. Castillo deserved to win but it's not Floyd's fault that the judges scored it for him and since then he hasnt looked back. Dominated the rematch
Meanwhile at the Garcia house:

Because the eye began to swell in that round, does NOT imply 100% that the FRACTURED eye orbit, had occured in THAT particular exchange.
Yeah, they are still bittter.
Glancing blows cause eye bone fractures doe :boxing:
As a biomed student I can tell you now, bones are very "weird" structures. Unbelievably strong (the femur is as strong as concrete) however, they can break exceptionaly easily almost like a twig. Check out Anderson Silva's tibia vs Weidman.
DSG was in my pound for pound top 10 after this, it's crazy how his career has gone downhill. I don't know if he's lost passion or he just can't handle being the favourite. If the rematch ever happens, all my points on Matthysse.
Win or lose, chances are you're gonna get busted up against Ruslan. I fully expect Matthysse to be lookin like the Asian Andre Berto.

100 trill on it?
Just rewatched this fight, how people can call this a robbery is beyond me. It was a very close fight which could have gone either way but in no way a robbery. I scored it for Herrera by one round. Ruslan didnt impress me and Herrera landed a few heavy shots. Not sure if he can take Matthysse's best shots flush on his chin though.
One of the best, fighters aren't appreciated until they retire, even Ali was hated for ages. People won't appreciate Floyd's ability until 20,30 years after he retires.
