People say he going to KO The Dark Horse "GGG' himself. I'm just really confused. I like Canelo but why do people keep saying he can KO "GGG". He couldn't KO mosley(granted he has a chin), Angulo, Lara, Cotto but for some reason he hits harder than jacob(a guy that dwarfs Canelo in size). Lettuce be serial Canelo will not sleep "GGG."
Yes anybody can get caught with a good punch but how does Canelo hit harder than jacobs the man who "KO'd Kid Chocolate" himself.
I wasn't referring to Jose Cotto...He couldnt knockout or even hurt Miguel Cotto, this is despite you saying he easily beat him. I couldnt give a damn what you consider an unofficial amateur career, in the real world he became a pro at 15, by the time he faced Matthew Hatton he already had 36 fights (including fights against Jose Cotto, Baldomir and N'dou)so dont try and paint him as a fresh amateur learning his trade because he wasnt. And as for Miguel Cotto, that was less than 5 years ago and if he dominated so easily then why couldnt he KO or even hurt a much older, smaller and past his best Cotto? Why Couldnt he stop and weight drained punch bag in Chavez?
For me I don't know who is going to win between GGG and Canelo. My prediction is I have no prediction because for me there are many ways this fight can go and there are many questions and intangibles for me to make a concrete prediction, that's just me. I cannot see Canelo knocking Golovkin out unconscious. I can see Golovkin doing more damage with power than Canelo. Canelo's hand speed and skills will present problems. I think it's going to be tough for both guys. In regards to what you posted.......
Absolutely on what you are saying. How much did Canelo outweigh Matthew Hatton by in that fight? Canelo was clearly the bigger man and had already fought guys like Baldomir, N'Dou, etc...
Canelo was way bigger than Hatton and couldn't knock him out. This is the point. A lot of these smaller guys like Mosley, Hatton, Cotto he couldn't get out of there.
Walking punching bag Angulo wasn't uncoscious and neither was the other walking punching bag Chavez Jr.
Canelo hits with something of the force of David Tua and Mike Tyson combined.
Truly devastating knock out power. Im starting to get scared just thinking about it.
laughing at harping on Matthew Hatton, Jose Cotto, ect Canelo was teenager you talking about fights a lifetime ago for Canelo who is only 26 and skipped amateurs so he learned on the job I consider every fight 5 years or more ago as Canelo's unofficial amateur career. Because that's what most of the top boxing prospects were doing at that age fighting other kids with headgear on learning their craft growing into their body. Didn't idiots learn after hyping up the Jose Cotto fight and saying of course the bigger stronger more skilled world class brother Miguel will beat Canelo. How did that turn out? Oh yeah Canelo easily beat Miguel the only Cotto worth a damn proving canelo is a million times better then he was when he fought Jose or Matthew Hatton. Please don't bring up fights before Canelo was old enough to legally drink as evidence for fights today. This is like saying Lebron ain't shyt and then citing games he played at St. Mary's High school as teenager.

I think it's wishful thinking by GGG haters who would love GGG to be KOed. Canelo is a big puncher but he failed to KO guys like Cotto and Trout and Lara. GGG takes a much better punch than those boxers and he has never been knocked down in any amateur or pro fight.
Those guys area also a to more defensively responsible than GGG, and don't have a seek and destroy style. It's harder to KO a guy that's thinking defense first against you. GGG is almost all offense, and has good defense, but not he best, at all.
and marquez failed to stop smaller fighters like salido, fedchenko, polo and many others at lower weights, but that didnt stop him ftom almost killing pacquiao at welter, and it wasnt power, it was timing, styles make fights, triangle teories dont work in boxing....
how many years ago was that again?
And???
Matthew Hatton, small old Mosley, Angulo wasn't unconscious, Cotto, walking dead man Chavez Jr.
It's more than one fighter.
Am I lying about this?
....Bingo and he couldn't knock out Matthew Hatton also, the Angulo fight was nearly identical to the Chavez Jr. fight. Angulo got hit with everything and he was getting beat up true indeed, when the ref Weeks stopped the fight Angulo was pissed off and arguing with the ref, he wasn't unconscious, he was still there in round 10 after getting hit with all of Canelo's punch arsenal round after round. With Chavez Jr. it was another walking dead man in front of Canelo and he couldn't knock him out either.
You're absolutely right on that.
how many years ago was that again?
by that standard neither has GGG! lol He's knocked out tomato cans that are not world class level, guys that have already been ko'd and struggled against the 2 top class fighters he's ever faced. Stopping a 2 weight class smaller fighter and eeking out a questionable decision after not being able to KO that guy who's already been KO'd and has been dropped by a featherfisted Mora. Based on your criteria Ward who had only 3 KO's in the last 8 years before fighting Kovalev and couldn't KO a chinny Miranada. So no way Ward should of been able to go up in weight and KO Kovalev right? :pat:
Lara is one of the best boxers right now so he is hardly decent ,Lara and Trout fight nothing like GGG ,triangle therories are lame bro ,Brook hurt GGG with Canelo best punch ,uppercut ,so if Canelo can catch him with good counter its easy to imagine GGG getting hurt ,Comprehendi?
Its not triangle theory to say Canelo hasn't managed to put a dent in welters and light middles who are definitely dentable, so why should he be able to knock out a much more sturdy fighter. Kell Brook landed a good uppercut on Golovkin, but that's not what i call hurt, no leg buckle wobble holding on. It didn't discourage him at all, he was all over Kell with no respect. It's not easy to imagine Canelo truly hurting Golovkin, as in a legs buckling, holding hurt that we normally mean by that term. Despite the style difference with Canelo's other opponents, Golovkin hasn't got such a bad defence to have got through he's whole career, and against punchers without ever going down. And Canelo hasn't stopped one world class durable opponent anywhere near he's size. So it's not it can't happen, there's just zero to suggest it.
Trout wasn't a great champion at 154 and Lara is a decent fighter, but were not talking Don Curry or Mike McCallum. And either Charlo or Andrade are probably better too. So again, he didn't stop either, among the other people I mentioned, no reason to think he KOs an unbeaten, never stopped never dropped middle. Comprehendi?

Yep, nothing to suggest the stoppage for Canelo. Has Canelo ever stopped a big strong world class fighter who wasn't chinny?
thank you sir ,finally someone chimes in with some clarity
I think a lot of people are just saying what they would like to happen. No impressive stoppage on Canelo's resume I can see tbh.

Yep, Canelo isn't a big puncher. Good fighter, but not a puncher.
Lara and Trout or so decent that they were ranked 1# and 2# in LMW :pat:

Canelo brutally KO'd Kirkland, and he took the best punches of Cotto, who granted was about 15-20 pounds lighter in that fight, but Canelo walked right through Cotto's best punches. On the other hand, he couldn't finish a weight drained 164 LB. Chavez Jr. who was ripe for the taking. This is why the fight between Canelo/GGG is so compelling, it is very difficult to call a winner on this one. It is a 50/50 fight.
Canelo has some really good body punching and uppercuts. It could happen, Ward is not a puncher bur he destroyed a seemingly indestructible Kovalev.
That's not my prediction though, Canelo takes it by decision.
