Even after he beats pacman?
Yep. He waited this long for a reason.
There's literally nothing he can do at this point to erase history. Even if he brutally KO's Pac in the 1st round then repeats it in two rematches, the fact is he still ducked the **** out of him for years and years and years when it actually mattered.
Mayweather is no different from Berto and Pederson. They make accusations of cheating and demand tests at the same time. Except that Berto and Pederson are nobodies compared to the biggest juicer in the sport. He gets to use his money to hide his ped activites.
Mayweather tested positive for peds, or are you just getting your excuses ready in case Manny loses?
A master technician in the ring. Despite his domestic violence troubles outside the ring, always 100% professional inside the ring.
People don't remember that Sugar Ray Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard also beat women. Hell, Leonard did drugs and nobody talks about that anymore. Floyd has done horrendous things to women but I doubt people will remember that in 50 years. They'll only remember what he did in the ring and I say that as a person who likes Pacquiao more than Floyd.

Like Tyson? A convicted rapist and thug who now his past is basically forgotten about?
ppl never hated tyson.
when he was doing time, we were counting down til he got out. :D
besides.... a beauty pageant contestant going into the hotel room of a rich, famous athlete. come on now.
that's like kobe level setup right there.
One of the best, fighters aren't appreciated until they retire, even Ali was hated for ages. People won't appreciate Floyd's ability until 20,30 years after he retires.
He did duck Pacquiao for five years. This should be self-evident by now considering the astronomical sums of money that this fight is generating. And we're seeing it in our lifetime and in realtime.
You don't duck such megafights when you call yourself "Money" and your company The Money Team. You dive into it without too much fuss.
He was forced into this fight.
Peoples opinion of Ali changed over the years he had a lot of haters now he's liked by almost everyone. Lennox Lewis too has gained much more respect since retiring. Even the haters realise how good fighters were when they're gone.
ali's hate was more racial/political/social
view on race, social/political climate changed.
pretty sure being a douche will always be frowned upon. :D
The guy who waited his toughest challenges out
for years.or just flat out didnt fight them.
Good skills ,good fighter, but much like calzaghe who didnt fight Roy or popkins at their best ,he waited them out.
Floyd is top 30.nothing he can do to crack top 20. Beating kovalev after manny at 175 get him top 25 tops...
He will always be remembered as one of the greatest and if he beats Pac he will be remembered as the greatest to lace them up period.
I dont know if beating Pacquiao now will be more impressive than Knocking the Crap out of him the Way JMM did a few yeas ago.! but Floyd cant be remember as the guy that ducked Pacquiao as he is about to school his ass
well now hes set to fight pacquiao...
i wonder if he will be known as the guy who ducked pacman for years and then lost
or
the guy who everyone thought was ducking pacquiao but fought him and beat him easy
tbe? maybe
I think the second scenario is the most likely one... The first one is not an option for Floyd at this stage of his career at ALL!
whatever your opinion of Floyd is now will likely remain the same in 10, 20, 30 years. If you think he is a "runner" or call him "Gayweather" that's what you'll still think in the future.
Changing someone's opinion is pretty hard.

It seems that only Manny fans feel this way while Floyd fans will obviously look at his career with appreciation. But a lot of people do realize that Manny's representation was a bigger part of the fight not happening. It's sad that people will say, another fight won't happen due to the TR vs GBP beef but won't admit it was the cause of Floyd vs Manny not happening.
Anywho, I have always said that Floyd's skill and fights won't be appreciated until 10-20 years after he retires. His skillset is unmatched in this generation and trainers no longer build complete boxers like him it seems. The balls to the wall type boxers are what's craved and when they are easily outclassed by boxers, people discredit it as a boring fight or "he ran". It's really a shame that dumb fans are doing the sport just about as much damage as these idiot promoter, Cable companies, referees, judges and Sanctioning bodies.
Best of this era, 1st ballot HOF, ATG, top 3 ATG D, most dominating fighter of his time, and the man who changed the sport (testing, 24/7, big money contracts). History will be kind to Floyd no matter what his haters say
But dont worry cause Sept 14th all your tears will go away. :boxing:
