Edit: here is an updated clip from the past week with him speaking on Conor vs Floyd
Chael said if your best boxer cant take out a non boxer it hurts the sport. He said Floyd better take Conor out early or it hurts boxing.
Chael actually defends boxing though, he means Floyd should knock Conor out since Floyd is considered the best ever in his sport.
for the past few weeks he said that people actually giving Conor a chance don't respect boxing. He also said it has to be a statement, like how Randy Couture choked out James Toney in MMa within 30 seconds.
He also gave an example in his previous podcasts of olympic wrestlers, if you put a guy who only learns 3 months of wrestling in with a guy who has wrestled top level all his life he expects the top level wrestler to win fairly easy and get a pin.
Except he doesnt only have a few months experience. He actually used to be a boxer, and his sport requires him to learn how to box to certain level.
Not like he is a complete novice who is learning how to throw a punch for the first time like James Toney was with wrestling
Utter tripe, boxing is about hitting and not getting hit. Knockouts are just a bonus, this makes no sense whatsoever. Floyd embarrassing McGregor for 12 rounds will be much harder to take for a man of his ego.
This isn't MMA with 4oz gloves. And a punch is a punch, if McGregor doesn't go down in the first round from MMA punchers with 4oz gloves, what makes this clown think that all of a sudden a boxer with 10oz gloves will be able to? Again, a punch is punch, if McGregor can take a punch in MMA then he can take a punch in boxing.
I disagree because MMA fighters can't punch like Boxers.
But I agree Floyd won't stop him in a round because that's Floyd and a 40 year old Floyd.
But I expect him to rock, wobble, hurt or drop him in yhe first round.
Floyd is one of best ever but he's past prime , not a big 154 pounder, has hand issues , isn't knockout artist
Let's see how long Connor lasts vs bigger more aggressive fighters like canelo , GGG , Spence or charlo
Any of those fighters listed knock him out in 2 minutes or less.

Hmm, at the highest level in boxing, blasting someone in the first round is rare since it's more of a feel-out round. But McGregor is literally 0-0. Floyd needs to KO Conor in less than 3 or it'll look bad for boxing, possibly hurt future boxing PPV events.

UFC let a career WWE wrestler earn their title, so Chael and the UFC fans need to relax.
Lesnar was the top college wrestler in the world before WWE picked him up. He would have mauled 90% of the pro boxing roster even back then.
He made it onto an NFL time "for fun" with no previous experience.
Terrible example if you wanna criticize MMA. That guy's a freak athlete.
If you wanna criticize MMA pick on someone like Roy Nelson, their version of Chris Arreola.
lol. That's actually the most realistic appraisal so far.
Obviously floyd is going to outbox McGregor. The question is whether he actually puts effort into stopping him or we just watch a 12 round charade where Floyd jogs around and McGregor misses wildly.
Floyd better beat the breaks off Conor and net let it go the distance, that is not a good look on Floyd or Boxing this guy conor has no pro boxing experience.
The best boxer ever going the distance with a sub novice, and also a lot of critics will shred Floyd, he has to really destroy Conor put a beating on him TKO him or knock him out and get the corner to toss the towel.
Only his nut lickers consider him the best ever. Let's just say he's one in a very long line of great fighters.
He's an MMA fighter and just like him I imagine many other MMA fighters/fans will be coming up with various ways to try to turn McGregor's loss into a win somehow for MMA.
As for the chances this fight goes a few rounds....
I could see a pose-fest early, it's a hyped-up match, McGregor is unorthodox, Mayweather probably doesn't want to rush into a bunch of clinches with an MMA fighter early on when he's fresh....or suffer a headbutt or something.
I don't who the guy is, so nothing against him, but that statement is either idiotic or he's trying to make Floyd fight out of character to increase Connor's chances.
