I'd have to go for El Chacal. Rigo schooled a top 5 P4P fighter in his 12th pro fight. Floyd schooled Robert Guerrero, no comparison really. Floyd did put on some clinic though and made Guerrero look awful. I also like the new Floyd. Very impressed when he told Sr to cool it after the fight. New classy Floyd is growing on me. Feels kinda weird
I'm hooked
I'm delighted that my first post on NSB is to voice my appreciation of Rigo. I've been keeping an eye on him for a while but I was still thinking Donaire might land a big shot and send him to sleep. I was expecting a close fight and was amazed how ordinary he made Donaire look. Donaire was pretty much accepted as top 5 P4P across the board. Can anyone think of a more dominant fight by essentially a very promising prospect (someone who hadnt even earned the right to be in with Donaire apparently)over a top 5 P4P? It was beautiful. The rigolution has started!
The public already decided he stinks by booing him repeatedly during the fight
And he doesnt speak english
I also heard them boo Donaire as he was making excuses. He speaks english just fine
Well one champion per weight class would be the ultimate goal but you gotta walk before you run. Even if they said from here on out we're judging the sanctioning bodies and eventually have one they support it might make a difference. I never knew about the transnational boxing rankings so thanks for linking it
After watching Khan-Diaz, I can't see Khan avoiding a KO from Garcia. He'll box great till he gets clocked on the chin by a good shot and then it's all bambi legs and clinching until Danny finds him again. I love watching Khan, he either dominates with his boxing skills or crumbles under pressure, always exciting. He would have KO'd by Diaz if the ref did his job stopping him clinching for so long. Hunter didn't fix ****!
What are ppl so mad about? If the tables were turned you know PBF would be doing the same. Admittedly, he would be funnier doing it. Being called out as a woman beater in public is going to get in your head!
Fight won't ever happen and Canelo is gonna keep getting better, which will pretty much be the nail in the coffin.
You're exactly right. If negotiations fall through this time, the fight is never gonna happen
Floyd makes it really hard to respect him. Once again, he's choosing money and protecting his '0' over his legacy. It's a shame because if he didn't he would go down as an ATG. This is a clear duck
Let me list..
-Both want to fight on Sept 14, 2013
-Both promoted by Golden boy
-Mayweather is the 154lb Champ x2
-Canelo proved his worth by beating Austin Trout
-Canelo provides the biggest money fight outside Pacquiao
-Fans are demanding this fight
Lets get the fight made, please don't duck another fight Fans are asking for. Prove to the boxing fans that you actually do take "risks" and take the Canelo fight.
Absolutely no reason why Floyd shouldn't fight Canelo. If the fight doesn't happen, it will just reconfirm what we've all known Mayweather to be.
No one can argue with this. There is literally no excuse for not taking the fight. For those who say he's too small, don't try win a title in a weight class unless you will defend it against all comers because then you're not really a champion
Boxers aren't equipped or trained to handle MMA rules. That's a simple fact. All an MMA fighter needs to do is take them down and it's game over. Tysons only chance is to land a big punch very early, which he is not going to do against Valesquez. He might have an outside chance against a ****ty MMA fighter but not the current heavyweight champ. Tyson has literately no chance
First time linking pictures, hope it works. So far, the P Will, Roger Mayweather and Berto ones had me laughing hardest

Reading all this really makes me appreciate my $10 p/m subscription to Boxnation. Won't cost me anything extra. (I'm currently on holiday in the US and can't seem to find the f*ckin pound sign on this yank mac lol)
I realized last year when I ordered the pac bradley fight across here that your ppv is costly.
I know. Its great isn't it. For the price of the Mayweather Canelo, we get that fight plus the last 3/4 months of top fights. The only big fights we didn't get was Froch-Kessler 2 (which I watched in a pub cos it's on at a decent time) and Golovkin last weekend. I hope it sticks around for a while yet
Hate their styles/attitudes outside the ring all u want ( and ill admit I don't care for PBFs choice of opposition most of the time) but these 2 guys are in a class above all others when it comes to their skills or God given natural talent. In your opinion who is the more gifted of the 2?
I love brawlers, I love counter punchers and I love good defence but above all I love watching Rigo. Watching him I am amazed at how he ducks, slips and counters so perfectly. It's almost as if the guy lives 2 seconds into the future. Floyd is amazing to watch too but owes a lot to his high elbow and jab/grab, arm trapping moves. I feel Rigo is better skilled but Floyd has obviously been tested more as a pro and defeated all put before him.
Bloody unbelievably good if this is the case! It's time people start recognizing entertainment value. Winning a fight is not necessarily a value. I keep waiting for a boxer to just stand firm in the middle of the ring and wait for the other guy to decide when he wants to come and fight. Rigondeau & Floyd are absolute BORES! Skill my arse.
I don't understand supposed boxing fans who can't appreciate what Rigo and Floyd do. Obviously Floyd is a complete dick and deserves no respect outside the ring but what he and Rigo do is amazing. It is the definition of boxing. The ring is there to be used, so they use it.
Let me ask you a question. Would you prefer if the boxing ring was reduced to 6ft x 6 ft? That way every match would be two morons constantly pummelling each other until one fell down and couldn't get up. Do you think that would be an improvement? It would remove all this pesky footwork and movement you seem to hate.
There is no lineal champ at 140, the winner if Garcia-Lucas will determine one. The only reason some people consider Garcia the champ is because The Ring made a new rule that anyone failing a drug test would automatically dropped from the rankings. This was done to give Khan a fake Ring belt, but we all know how that backfired. They dropped Peterson right away but never dropped Chavez Jr. It was Complete scam job by the GBP owned Ring
In all honesty it should be called GBP magazine and the GBP belt. Or even better Schaefar magazine and the Schaefar belt. ODH has destroyed the Rings cred.
Well, why don't we make the ring the size of a football field and combine 2 sports? Sprinting and boxing??? Pesky footwork can also be used to go forward, no?
I'm genuinely asking you, do you think having a smaller ring, to force fighters to go toe to toe, would be more entertaining? That way boxers like Rigo and Floyd will never be able to bore you.
152 is still in the realm of JMW though. What weight class would it be in then if it wasn't JMW?
It is a JMW bout because it's in between the bracket of 147.1 and 154. If a fight was at 148, that's JMW, if a fight was at 146, that's WW.
Are you saying if the lineal champion at 154 signs on for a fight with a CW of 148 and loses. The guy who beat him could rightly be considered the lineal champ at JMW?
That's an extremist scenario but yes its legitimate even though your deal would never happen .
I admit it is extremist and unlikely to happen but the JMW division has one weight stipulation; both fighters can weigh whatever they like as long as its below 154. If you alter that rule, you alter what defines the JMW division. IF you 're talking about the WBA/WBC Super Duper Emerald Diamond blah blah belt I wouldn't care. They're largely meaningless. The Ring is supposed to have more credibility and that is getting eroded more and more every day:nonono:
Good on Ward. It's about time big stars start treating these awarding bodies like what they are; Corrupt and unnecessary. Belt or not , Ward is the top dog.
Bob Arum is your source? :lol1:
And your source is from October 26.. :lol1:
Idiot.
Garcia and Ariza are your sources but thats ok?? Garcia and Ariza are aligned with one camp therefore unreliable, Bob is promoter for both therefore impartial. The people collecting samples as far as I am aware are not actually part of VADA but contracted to collect samples, they would have no idea of the testing schedule for the other fighter
Am I looking at some kind of dive?
Who drops BOTH their hands and tenses their arms in the face of a wind up punch?
https://lh3.ggpht.com/-4L_pGG0sWBc/Uq0oY_g_ADI/AAAAAAAAAZk/MLOiCZQYqoA/s400/MAID334.gif
guys who've been in the ring, ever done this?
Maidana threw the punch from very low making it look like a body shot. Broner dropped his hands to protect himself but maidana landed on his exposed, big ugly mug. Never saw it coming. I suspect its something Garcia had worked on. He's lucky he hit the ropes otherwise he might not have gotten up. I dont think he was prepared for Maidanas pressure. He got embarassed from beginning to end
