Now I believe Canelos manager, am disappointed that this actually is true. I know Mayweather is a name and everything but fighting a healthy version of Canelo at 154 does more for his legacy than fighting a drained version of Canelo at 147, this is the thing that we critise Pacquiao for doing and something that we use to reduce his legacy. This is shocking to me.
Actually Marg vs Pac and Floyd vs Canelo situation was far from similar. Floyd has the habit bringing up smaller fighters to his comfortable zone (147) without giving them a leveling field (catchweight). Now he is switching to bringing down bigger fighters to his comfortable zone again without giving them a leveling field. Cowardice? Probably you will said no.
That's not even the point. If you're not comfortable at 154 fine, don't fight there.
But don't try and drag down other 154 lb fighters in order to get an advantage and try and sell it to us. It's lame
thats true also, but isnt canelo the one that called floyd out, if it was the other way around then I stand corrected and thats wrong.. but i am of the assumption that Canelo called floyd out, no?
Mayweather only has himself to blame for the fall out. I can understand why he wouldn't want to fight at 154lb again, as he doesn't look as effective at the weight, but he shouldn't have gotten on his high horse about fighting the best at their best weight. Fight with Canelo has no chance of taking place at 147lb and even if it did, Canelo would be robbed of any chance of victory as he'd look like a zombie come fight night.
I'm holding out hope that Mayweather Sr. is just running his mouth off, as I'm starting to believe a fight with Amir Khan is on the horizon.
This is a good point!

you're not a tough guy on a fake airplane
simmer down turbo
People keep telling FLoyd hes scared and Floyd dont want to prove anyone wrong, thats not a good sign, he is happy to confirm it. I think money has made Floyd soft.
He has never taken any risks in his boxing career. Its always about the short term gain ie win the fight, rather than the long term gain, ie legacy.
just stop dude, too early in the morning to be creating alts in your parents basement
you're giving trolls a bad name ffs

no one has a chance against floyd, not in this era. Thats what you people don't get. The only chance anyone has against floyd is if he has an off night, just admit that he is the greatest at 140 - 154

I hope Canelo doesn't do this I honestly have zero interest in watching a weight drained canelo get beat up with any advantages he may have to make the fight interesting having been taking away from him. Sh*t like that will ruin the kid's confidence for the future. I won't buy that PPV. If floyd is a legit 154 champ he should fight canelo at that weight and prove it, otherwise he should just f*ck off. it's pac all over again, anybody with even the remotest chance against him is ducked.

It's only fair isn't it?
If Canelo really wanted to prove himself he should fight Andre Ward at 168lbs since he is always over 178lbs anywhere.
Canelo has made a career of fighting small guys.He moved Lopez from 135lbs and moved Hatton from small weights when there were well deserving guys at 154lbs.
Canelo's own manager has said that Canelo is always way over 170lbs and said Miguel Cotto (who Floyd fought at 154) was actually a welterweight.
thank you, finally someone who makes sense. canelo really needs to fight andre ward tbh. It isn't floyd's fault that there isnt any A level fighters in his division, Canelo isnt even an A level fighter, only advantage he has over floyd is size.
now on to the business, when DLH was the cash cow he called the shots, floyd is the cash cow let him call and dictate what happens.. who the **** is canelo, guy is half his age and you want floyd, who has been dominating boxing for 15 years to give into his demands/wants?
Canelo is just going to end up like Manny or any of the other hype jobs that were "threats" to floyd's 0...

Floyd, you're committing legacy suicide with all this bull****
I'm still hoping its all being used for financial leverage, i.e. "I'll only fight at 154 if you take an 80/20 split." (the percentage figures are being used as an example, not my personal opinion)

Fight won't ever happen and Canelo is gonna keep getting better, which will pretty much be the nail in the coffin.
You're exactly right. If negotiations fall through this time, the fight is never gonna happen
