Wasn't a robbery, look at all the comments on how Granados was moving too much. He had the fight in the bag if all he did was come forward....this is CINTRON we are talking about. All he had to do was pretend to come forward!
What can you say that was the first time he had been in those rounds so "the fight" kinda stopped after round 7. Granados finished 10 strong, I had him winning but he left round 8 and 9 up in the air.
Cintron clearly won the 9th. Teddy can´t score for ****, see his scorecard for Bradley.
LOL....do you know anything about Adamek??
Dude has only lost to Dawson and the few times he has gotten dropped, he has gotten up to dominate the rest of the fights. Given the state of the HW division, Adamek is a top 5 guy.......tisk, tisk to you sir. You should watch some of Adamek's fights, he is a warrior through and through
Apparently I know more about Adamek than you. He simply doesn´t possess the body, the defense or the chin to compete with good heavyweights. Adamek is not a good heavyweight. That there are only two heavyweights right now that can fight, doesn´t make Adamek a good heavyweight. Good fighter yes, good heavyweight no.
Unless they plan on making him the Rocky Juarez of the HW division, hell no lol
I don't understand how somebody who was so competitive against Adamek could go the distance with Quezada and give up rounds to him in the process!
Because Adamek is not a good heavyweight. That he lost to Adamek, who had a shaky chin and ****ty defense at 190 just proves that Arreola is nothing more than a mediocre heavyweight. That he struggled tonight proved that he´s nothing more than a club fighter.
Povetkin would not last 3 rounds against a Klitschko in his state, he needs to either go back to Atlas or seriously do something about his stamina...now.
Myth.
Povetkin was in the same awful shape with Atlas against a shot Chagaev. Barely survived the middle rounds. Besides Povetkin´s current coach only took over, from whomever, four weeks before the fight. Therefore this was probably Huck´s best and only chance. Huck needs him in that bad shape to have a chance to beat him. Don´t see Povetkin ever showing up in that bad shape again with a new full-time coach. Povetkin actually, despite his chubby looks, used to have good stamina. It is what enabled him to beat Eddie Chambers over the 2nd half of their fight.
That being said his defense is a mess regardless of his stamina and his chin doesn´t appear to be the strongest either. If Sauerland ever wants to pass the title along between his fighters Helenius is the man. His defense is awful as well, but offensively he finds openings and he can seriously crack.
Of course he has nowhere ot go, because he has been everywhere. Over the last four years or so Froch has the best resume in boxing in terms of quality of opposition faced, while not making any BS demands on location, weight and so on. If every fighter was like Carl Froch we´d have no problems in boxing.
Maybe he received good advice from Manny on how to enhance his performance late in his career. J/k.
Well if you think how long Pong´s been around it was going to happen eventually. He´s more or less than Hopkins of the lower weights in terms of age and longevity.
Germany and England traditionally have MASSIVE sporting crowds for ANY event that is linked to their country. There is a reason the Klithsckos attempt to promote themselves in Germany and not in Italy lol.
Yeah that Germans aren´t broke as ****. :theyareon
Btw Germany has had more big cards this year than America. The mecca of boxing is sadly in bad shape as a result of HBO/Showtime shutting out the wide public for years. What is the biggest fight that has taken place in America this year? Maidana vs. Alexander, Williams vs. Ishida? And we are already in March.
Next up are Sergio Martinez (37 years old), Erik Morales (35 years old), then we have the real first big event of 2012 in America between two young fighters in Rios vs. Gamboa. Ironically Gamboa is a German managed Cuban. On April 28th Hopkins vs. Dawson, which is matched by the European based match-up between Froch and Bute.
Then why are they so huge over there, but over here they can't even get on HBO anymore? You're not fooling anybody.
..and HBO is a sports authority? Why are the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, soccer or tennis not on HBO?
He should stay away from the 168 lbers, could get himself into trouble there. I think I need to save my judgement until I see him again. Proksa was tough, but just not very good with his goofy ass telegraphed shots. Lol he looked silly throwing those lefts.
Those golovkin body shots are mean as f*ck...
I think he can handle the super-middleweights just fine. In the amateurs he already knocked out Lucian Bute with one punch and outboxed Andre Dirrell.
I´d be shocked, if he didn´t beat Alexander. Urango was starting to frequently hit Alexander, and Urango is the slowest man on the planet. I´d be shocked if Urango beat Usain Bolt in a footrace, with Bolt running in three feet deep quick sand.
he's good,he's new to the divison he's shown heart and will to win..he should work on his punching power.
the division is run by the klitschko brothers everyone knows that but thanks to adamek, rahman and chagaev we still got some fighters left in the division..and maybe one day if someone lifts the stone up haye will come out crawling and face one of the brothers..haye is a real coward ..adamek has shown that he can take a punch something we cant say about gaye.
Family, friend or management of Hasim?
Haye would put Adamek in a bodybag. Adamek has no punch at heavyweight and he most def cannot take a shot at heavyweight. He could barely take Cunningham´s, who is not a puncher at 200.
Answer this question honestly-
Who would sell more tickets (and PPVs)?
Pacquiao fighting in Germany or the Klits fighting in Dallas (or anywhere in America for that matter)?
Depends. Do you think the Klitschkos can sell more than 500 tickets in the USA?
The Ring belt may be paper but you can't just buy it by paying off some sanctioning body official. It is not availible to the highest bidder.
They aren´t available to the best fighters of the division either.
Vasquez made his mandatory defense against Caballero yet? Has he even fought a top ten super-bantamweight besides Rafa in the last four years?
How about Hopkins. Dawson, Pascal, Cloud, Brähmer, Erdei? Anyone good under the age of 37? Maybe fight more than once a year?
Manny gearing up for his title defense against Timonthy Bradley yet. Btw do ring title defenses have random blood testing?
At least Wlad is fighting Chambers and Povetkin. Damn, those are alphabet mandatories.
Ring Magazine is so awesome.
I went 31-3 in the amateurs, Ive been in more than my share of street fights probably around 60-70. I workout daily, I spar at the gym weekly, and Ive sparred with professional HWs. Im 6'1" 235 with about 11% bodyfat. I still concede that in a boxing match Id probably never touch him, in a street fight its all me. From boxing and fighting I know my chin is good enough to bang with a 105lb man. Id rush him and he couldn't hit me hard enough to keep me from coming. He may break my nose, black my eye and bust my lip but eventually I'll get to him and it'll be over.
As unfortunate and brutal as it is, we have a pretty good example of what can happen if a pro boxer hits a regular person without gloves, since a very drunk super-featherweight champion put a guy into a coma with one punch.
If Ottke was still active, he would be the perfect sparring partner before facing Abraham. Exact same defensive style, but no pop.
Abraham is Ulli Wegner's masterpiece, and even if you ignore some robberys from Ottke's list, it was kind of impressive what he learned to do with such limited power.
Abraham was Ottke´s sparring partner. That´s how they discovered him.
haha, damn who was that first KO victim? I must gif it....
Khoren Gevor, the current European middleweight champion, who lost a controversial decision to WBA champion Felix Sturm earlier this year. So he´s not even a bad fighter.
If that's the case. Why team mayweather haven't leaked that email?
Well, if these e-mails do exist, GBP/Mayweather would be smart to withhold them until the trial. If they drop the e-mails, especially the one with the context of "Pacquiao asking if a positive test could be kept secret", during the trial, not only would Pacquiao lose the lawsuit, but he could easily have the feds on his ass, digging deeper into the whole situation.
Mayol was very unfortunate, when he lost a classic war to Eagle Kyowa, that looked like it ended both fighters career. Kyowa was never really the same afterwards, and the same seemed to be true for Mayol, when Solis beat him. Then he had the bad luck, that Ivan "The Wrestler" Calderon pulled two more of his blading jobs, that always conventiently happen, when he´s starting to lose a fight. Finally he pulled through.
I always said that four world title belts would be perfect, if we only had 8 instead of 17 weight classes. Too many quality fighters would get shut out or have to wait forever, if there was only one champion per weight class. What boxing should really work on is cut down on weight divisions, especially below 126.
He doesn´t even know where the fight between Abraham and Dirrell takes place. And if it took place in Germany, and Sauerland had a choice, they would simply use a small ring, but the ring has to be the same size for all fights of the Super Six, if I´m not totally wrong.
Bunce is funny and passionated, but not really well prepared.
I think it's such a great concept. You're not out if you lose you're first fight I love that. Maybe Bute and Balszay are missing but the line-up is still excellent.
Honestly Balzsay might have a belt, but he´s not that good. Every fighter in the tournament would beat him handily. He´s also managed by Universum, who carefully maneuvered him to the WBO title. If we waited for Universum to agree to any terms, Balzsay would be fighting Mikkel Kessler Junior. Balzsay will have his hands full with Robert Stieglitz in his next fight. Then he´ll attempt to follow in the footsteps of his infamous countryman Zsolt Erdei and such inspiring stablemates as Felix Sturm.
Bute is an unfortunated casualty, but the 3 vs. 3 Ryder Cup format of USA vs. Europe sells better. Showtime will keep Bute around and build him as a viable option to the winner or even one of the fighters dropping out after the round robin. Unless of course Bute really declined the invitation, at which stage I could see Showtime dropping Bute from their programming schedule.
