i still have to see the fight but it looks like an unintentional headbutt gave mayol the victory lol.
rematch!
edit: for anybody who saw the fight, was this a legit win for mayol?
i saw it ... it was a major headbutt and sosa was really hurt and cut on the cheek by it at the end of 1st ... 2nd started mayol connected with a good combo, sosa dropped hard. got up, shortly there after was against the ropes and not answering it was stopped by the ref ...
headbutt may not have made a difference if it didnt happen ... but fact is it did and it had to be a factor ...
im wondering mayols head seems to be unstoppable.. LOL
Mabuhay ka Mayol untugin mo na lang ng untugin! lol
I wish calderon will him in 3rd match.
Good for him!!! Finally got one of those belt!! Actually this is supposed to be the 2nd belt!! He was robbed in the Calderon fight.
Ha. they sent Rubillar and Sonny Boy Jaro to Thailand.

Mayol was very unfortunate, when he lost a classic war to Eagle Kyowa, that looked like it ended both fighters career. Kyowa was never really the same afterwards, and the same seemed to be true for Mayol, when Solis beat him. Then he had the bad luck, that Ivan "The Wrestler" Calderon pulled two more of his blading jobs, that always conventiently happen, when he´s starting to lose a fight. Finally he pulled through.
calderon never beat mayol homeboy.....atleat from the ones who saw the fight.....lol
Neither Mayol beat Calderon.
Mayol was being Frustrated by a 34 year old.
Oh, so it was like Holt-Torres II:
Saturday night in Tuxtla Gutierrez in Chiappas, Mexico, Filipino challenger Rodel Mayol (25-4-1, 19 KOs) scored a second round TKO over longtime WBC light flyweight champion Edgar Sosa (37-5, 21 KOs), who was making his 11th defense (in 28 months). After Sosa was badly hurt by an unintentional headbutt, he was dropped again when action resumed and the referee waved it off moments later. Mayol was successful in his fifth attempt at a world title.
