I respect every fighter for risking their life at the expence of my entertainment.
I love HBO for putting the money and production they do into boxing.
I love Max Kellerman, Brian Kenny, & Teddy Atlas for doing their best to stress boxing on ESPN.
I love going to live fights at Hammerstein Ballroom, MSG, Alantic City Casinos
de la hoya is the only fighter i hate but i dislike...
wladimir klitschko - overcautious bitch with all the skills in the world, ****in waste
paulie - homosexual with no power
zab - great talent but an idiot
sugar ray leonard - waits till a fighter is way past it to fight them
De La Hoya- Goldenboy of boxing & great promoter & businessman. Lost his biggest fights, but had the heart to fight them.
Wladimir Klitschko - best heavyweight since Lennox Lewis. Can only be good as competition & their isn't any of that at this point. I hope Arreola develops into something special, but I really can't see nobody giving Klits any real comp.
Paulie - One of the slickest fighters in boxing, very knowledgeable of the sport, & great person outside the ring.
Zab - Magnificiant talent went he puts it all together. Somewhat of a celebrity & is still one of the biggest names in boxing despite losing streak recently. I think Zab's best otpion would be the up & coming Andre Berto, athough I would hate to see either lose, but it would be a great fight.
Sugar Ray Leonard - Top 10 all time great on most experts list. Fought some of the best comp during reign. His win over the great Marvelous Marvin Haglar is most impressive to me because I think Haglar had a great physical edge over the legdend.
I agree with the person that stated nobody is beat either right now. Even though I could care less about Russia because of their depise for our great country I might cheer on Povetkin if & when he fights the Klits. Arreola is my boy, but I don't see him with much of a chance
I like Mayweather and hope he does return, but he dosn't have Lebron status in the sport but I'll agree he is as important as Brady or Manning to the NFL. If Lebron stays healthy its no question in my mind he will be the greatest player ever when he retires. Its too soon to call but Lebron has better numbers than any other player in NBA history by the age of 25
Boxing will be okay, we have some decent athletes & I think our prospects will be ready to to step up once our present greats pass the torch. 09 has been great for boxing so far, I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
jordan made the playoffs every year he played...his rookie team was terrible ..name 1 person from that team
Correct, but I still find it hard to put Jordan over Lebron based on his size and athletesism. The kid is close to 69 270, and he just might be one of the greatest athletes ever. He has great all around numbers -28.5, 7.4, 7.0
Jordans best - 33.3, 6.9, 6.3, & Lebron is getting better
Too soon to tell, but I would love to see the fight at the greatest arena in this world (MSG) but I doubt Mayweather will ever fight outside Vegas again.
I guess its a generation thing. The funny thing is since coach Mike D'antoni system makes players better Lebron numbers could be 30.0, 15.0, 10.0 if he makes the 2 great states in the notheast happy & joins the Knicks.
imagine if jordan came in the league at 18..............
Good point, but most people forget Lebron is a much more complete player as far as rebounding assist and all around contribution to the team. Without Lebron the Cavs would be worst than my favorite team the Knicks. I like Jordan but the teams he took to the finals were great. I don't think Jordan could take the Cavs as far as they went 2 years ago like Lebron did
1.Paul Williams
2.Miguel Angelito Cotto
3.the great Sugar Shane Mosley
4. Antonio Margarito
5.Andre Berto - well deserved rematch with Luis Collazo should be next. The first fight was a great and could've went either way, but I notice the kid got alot of haters sleeping on his talent ala the great Money May
No Cotto isn't scared of Williams. The problem is Arum is too busy hatin on Al Haymon & dosen't want to make the fight happen. Hopefully Cotto leaves Top Rank when his contract is up & I'm sure the fight will happen ASAP. I think Arum relizes Cotto might be leaving also & thats the only reason Clotty is finally getting a shot.
His only loss came to the pfp king, Hatton has nothing to be ashamed of. His following is crazy I can't wait until someone captures the heart of America like Hatton does our Alantic friends
I think with the long layoff Winky will be rusted so therefore I gave it to Paul by decision. I wll not be suprised at all if was to pull out a decision either.
I know the ledgendary Mercent is hard to replace but I think very highly of Kellerman. He shouldn't be penalized because he is a fan of the sport. I am upset that he left 1050 espn NY, it was fun calling up the the show & getting knowledge from the god, he also kept boxing popping with a causual audience that is always good for the sport to bring in the viewers from football, baseball, basketball, etc. Even worse every since Kellerman left the Knicks are 0-5.
LOL, Lebron is a cheater too because he is almost 6'9 270 & probably the best athlete alive. I guess a Shaq is cheating too. Lennox Lewis is such a cheater. lol lol lol lol lol lol lol. For real though, STOP HATIN SON!
The ''Legend Killer'' Joe Calzaghe is a great champ, I already stated in past post his legacy is already cemented. He might just be the greatest super middleweight champion ever after Roy Jones Jr.
On another note I think he would of beaten any version of the legendery Benard Hopkins.
Guys like Trinidad, Mosely, De la Hoya, and Meayweather dominated multiple weights. Thats one thing Calzaghe didn't do, which makes me think he was scared and protected. The best of the best go up in weight, then again, then again. Joe probably would have gotten beat the moment he stepped out against a top contender a weight above him. There are alot of fighters who are undefeated and more dominant than Joe was at there natural weight. Including all of those fighters I named.
So are you saying that the legendary Benard Hopkins was scared & protected as well ? Like Calzaghe, Benard won world titles at 2 divisions as well. In my humble opinion mutiple weight division competitiveness is not the deciding factor of a great fighter. It is one of the things that is killing the sport, the reason we see a wieght drained De La Hoya fight at a weight he wasn't at in six years. Another example, Pavlic jumping 2 weight classes to get dominated by the bigger, skillfull legend.
One of the realest threads I seen in a while. To take it a little further the networks are the promoters these days (Hbo, Showtime, ESPN, Versus). If the network don't want the fight your only option is bullshit ppvs like Cotto-Jennings.
Al Haymon pretty much confirmed he's coming bac. He's coming back.
Where did he state this?
I'm not interested in anyone saying Floyd will return except for Ellerbe, Haymon, or Floyd himself. The only anylast I might believe is Greg Leon
I know you was playing calling Toney overated so I'm not responding to that shit. I would choose Calzaghe over Toney as well, but I doubt he would school him & it is a toss up fight for me in both competitors prime. I give Calzaghe the nod based on workrate
I would favor Cotto, but alot of you on this site is really sleeping on Berto, that was a good win last night. I would'nt be suprised if Berto was to upset Cotto. Berto chin is not suspect, he held up good to Collazo's pop. When he stumbled in the first he was off balenced.
It was definitly a grest fight, but the right man got the decision. **** that judge that scored the fight 116-111, he's an asswhole. Berto won, but as Collazo stated 114-113 was a great score.
