I never seen a guy so pro fighter. I mean he was going nuts everytime Ortiz landed a punch yet the majority of them missed. Here's a perfect example.
I have seen a lot of Floyd's fights and a lot of Lampley's commentary on those. He is usually quite lavish in his praise of Floyd and his style and skill. Maybe I am missing the nuances, but you showed a very small clip of Jim's remarks about Ortiz as though it is wrong of him to compliment Floyd's opponent.
I 100% agree though. My point was why was he so biased and off in this fight? Lampley has always been fair to Mayweather...ALWAYS. yet in this fight from the get go he was clearly Ortiz...thsi cannot be denied.
I cannot be sure, and I have not seen the fight yet. I do not have HBO anymore. It is going to be difficult to watch fights because I cannot afford to get HBO anymore.
A number of guesses come to mind, but as I began to write I thought better of entering that debate because there are simply too many perspectives to consider. I will give mine instead: Floyd is obviously having a tumultuous emotional time in his private life which we had a glimpse of on 24/7 (I caught some of it on youtube) and is succumbing to the pressures and frustrations of his lifestyle and the tensions it brings. It makes him harder to root for in fights.
Correction: One tried to and you guys are trying to justify it that he did with Cotto. Mosley actually did it in a fight.
I'm not mad at all. Margarito won and made Cotto quit. Look at my sig and tell me who's really mad? :lol1:
Dude, he *might* have used it (probably did, imo) in the Cotto fight, and that's the point. His 'win' is suspect at best.
Having a huge ego is part of the game. You think Pacquiao, Floyd, Martinez, Klitschko, ect. don't have giant egos?
**** outta here.
Roy is a former p4p king and first ballot Hall of Fame boxer. Who the **** are you?
Thank you. Seriously, I don't know why anyone would rag on RJJ. The man is a warrior.
Up front I pay respect to the fighters since they're in a level were the punches they receive are no joke. But it somehow amazes me how they're boxing ability is halted by their mentality...
Do you think a psychologist can fix it?
Ribbit ribbit.
Yes or No and why or why not?
Mayweather typically earns tens of millions per fight now (10,000,000). One billion looks like this 1,000,000,000. A billion dollars is a truly staggering quantity of money. ODLH was reported to have in the realm of $500,000,000 (half a billion) when he retired as a cash cow of boxing. No way Mayweather has one billion dollars.

"You know who gets hit by sucker punches" LOL
Awesome interview. He gave a lot of insight.
Is that badass? Interesting i want to see your thoughts.btw our session went really great we blended well, hes really funny and full of stories.i just had to post this here despite my mentor close friend and former trainer telling me not too and to be discrete but fuk it.
Check his speed-dial. Does he have margarito listed?
Margarito: Intelligent and evolved or stupid and cheesy macho ?
It's hard not to admire the never-say-die attitude in some people, but when nothing but personal glory and reputation are on the line, it's a foolhardy doctrine to emulate. margarito is not george w bush or perry stupid (nor is he particularly intelligent) but he IS cheesy macho.
Cotto is the stoic and classy archetype that Americans used to admire. Now the masses seem to appreciate loud, posturing braggarts.
TS will write anything to support his man-crush. It's a tear, no doubt about it. If it isn't, then what is all that granulated sandy lookin' **** coming out of the wrap--a moco?
Your analysis is very good. I do not know what is going on with Manny, but he used to follow Roach's advice very well. Now he seems to be doing his own thing, as though he believes that he has evolved beyond the need for advice or, more likely, he is very distracted. This is not to discount Marquez's ability as a boxer/counter puncher. If Manny had followed Roach's advice Marquez might have adjusted, but he probably would have made a clearer argument for his win.
I thought the fight was very even and the win could have gone either way. I do feel, though, that Marquez won the moral victory for two reasons: A) he made a convincing case for his win via his performance and B) part of that performance was slowing Manny down and making him appear ordinary.
kneegel is a *****.Plain and simple. He wants to be a professional boxer but does not want to get hurt or care about the fans? Why doesn't he stick to amateur boxing where he can fight with pads on? Anyone backing him up,especially you puto ricans obviously have that quitter mentality,no wonder the majority of you are lazy, jobless drug addicts and on welfare, you gave up on life, you took a knee.:op:
I'd really like to know what ticket price entitles you to watch a man die. I think you're just a boor hoping to witness the perverse thrill of watching a man suffer and or die in the ring. You are execrable.
It's raining here like storm and I better not miss the weigh in. Let alone the fight I paid them. I'm getting desperate now. It says searching for signal Directv sucks their signal sucks and they promised me their signal could hold thru storms fukin liars sons of whores. .
Can I sue them tomorrow if the fight doesnt show because they lied to me??. I never had a problem with them but its raining and apparently it might rain tomorrow... oh my i fokin swear.
What are my options here?
Doubtful. Read your contract.
You know, I believed at first he was just hamming for the audience and the camera, but the suggestive comments that followed made me cringe on the inside and shrivel a little on the outside. I think he might really have meant it, and if he didn't--nah, he meant it.
so according to you, Cotto didn't quit
dude, please just shut the fukk up and stop tryin to talk boxing with me
Would it have been better for Cotto to die in the ring? Or maybe just suffer permanent damage? Thoughts?
KO'd?
That's a big bold prediction. Maybe TKO'd..................
I can see the ref stopping the fight if he suffers some eye injury or he's just getting hit way too much but I don't know if Cotto can KO him. He took Cotto's shots really, really well the first time.
Yeah, tko is much, much more likely of the two. I have read somewhere that they are using 10 ounce gloves and, of course, wraps should not be an issue this time. I think it will go to decision. I hope Cotto stops him, but I think it goes to a decision.

Embedding is easy. Just go to 'share' beneath the video and then go to 'embed'. Copy and paste the embedding code into the text box.
I cannot seem to do it on this computer anymore, though.
***Please, no racism***
We all saw how his punches had almost no effect on Mosley, the c class fighter in Mexico, besides a little knockdown, and Pacman. I notice that he will keep coming forward, yeah, but his pressure and punches are way less meaningful. It's like the pressure doesn't really matter because he gets tagged and doesn't seem able to come strong enough to keep his man in trouble. Cotto has resilience but after their first fight he swells for nothing, his tissue is badly damaged. Those punches may not hurt like the first fight, but they will swell him up either way. I think he got this fight but in boxing anything is possible and Cotto has to clinch and have his stamina/endurance ramped up for this fight - preparation should lead him to victory.
Seeing the tools that Margarito has, resilience, chin, etc. Without power, or plaster, possibly, can his pressure do enough to keep Cotto backing down this time?
Yes, I think mocorito can win in a fair fight. I don't think most Cotto fans are angry that he won in the first fight. I think we are angry that he almost certainly cheated to get that win.
First of all, I'm not a hater or anything close to crap like that. I would just like to read some opinions regarding this matter. I've never quite understood Mayweather when asked about Cotto. At first, he said Cotto was green. Then Cotto became, pretty much, the top welterweight in the world around 2007. Floyd chose to face Hatton instead. With the talent that Floyd has, seriously, I don't get why he would fear Cotto. Do you think Mayweather feels that Cotto has the style to beat him?
No, and I honestly don't think Cotto could beat him most days. Anything can happen in boxing, but I would not expect Cotto to win that bout, though I would of course be rooting for him. I do think Cotto could present a challenge for him, though.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA.
It's called Karma.
That's what being an ignorant loudmouth piece of sh*t gets for you in the end!!!!!!!
People misuse the word incessantly. You probably mean rude. And if you mean rude, then I am curious how being confident is being rude.
Marg's manager praises Cotto and his trainer
The article is in Spanish so I'll try to translate some of the stuff.
He says he rewatched Marg vs Cotto II and he thinks that if Cotto fights like he did against Margarito, with great boxing, moving in and out and throwing combinations that he'd beat Pacquiao.
He thought Pedro Luis Diaz did a great job and that they didn't expect Cotto to have such a great performance.
That is telling. Thank you for posting! :boxing:
lol only people who have made excuses are Cotto nutthuggers, according to them Margarito had loaded gloves and Pacquiao was on steroids, therefore Cotto is undefeated.
Cotto's bout with Pacquiao was legitimate, if cheap.
mocorito cheated. Accept it. The truth is not always pretty, idolater.
1. Margarito must have found a way to use plaster again.
2. Cotto was weight drained.
3. Fight was at 154 , at 147 Cotto would have won.
4. Margarito borrowed some of Pacquiao's roids.
5. Margarito's new , bionic eye gave him an advantage with his new super vision.
6. None. They'll disappear like they did 3 years ago.
Cotto is my favorite boxer. Therefore any loss he suffers on December third must be due to the bionic eyeball. There, I said it. It hadda be said and I said it. Yeah.
He probably would give Tony his respect.
But at that point, who cares what Cotto thinks? Tony would have already proved was an innocent man, if Cotto admits it or not.
Honestly, I cannot wait to hear what excuse Cotto fans will have. If the fight happens in NYC. Everything will be against Tony, it will be a pro-Cotto crowd, Tony is going with one eye, bookies will probably be against Tony.
But on all that, if he comes out victorious, a lot of people on here owe him an apology.
'Proof' is impossible at this point. He's already been proved to be guilty...what remains is the judgement on all of his fights prior to the Mosley fight. If he wins against Cotto it *proves* nothing except that he was better on December 3.
Will he give Marg his due respect or will he continue to say his dog is more human than Margarito is, and that the black thread from the glove on his wrap is a crack that show the wraps were loaded?
I would give him credit, but not respect. I just don't like him. He tried to cheat and then lied about having any knowledge of it. And because he has denied even vague or tangential knowledge means that he cannot or will not apologize for it. He is scum.
He is not the most evil person in the world, and it may even be absurd to charge him with being evil at all given the spectrum of truly evil and heinous things people do to one another in this world every day, but I still deplore him. I suppose that I will have to view Schrödinger's wraps as both legal and not until we are able to reverse time and view them directly after the fight.
Cotto made a statement on 24/7 that by beating Margarito this December, that would prove that Margarito loaded his wraps in their first fight. Using the same logic if Margarito wins this December does that clear him of wrong doing in the first fight.
Yes, that would apply. But I do not believe Cotto is right in this one instance. If Cotto wins it would be evidence to support that argument, but it would not be 'proof'. Similarly, if margaresto wins, it does not mean he did not cheat 3 years ago. It merely means that he will have been better than Cotto on December 3.
This is a hilarious thread! Green K!
LMAO@ Miley Cyrus!
I voted for Margarito's mullet. It's like Samson, if he doesn't have the hair, he won't beat Cotto.
LMAO@ Puerto Rican ninja...
Yeah, most of them were good stuff. I voted for the hydroxycut poisoning because I can imagine that's an excuse the margaresto camp would try to use.
