I'm pretty much convinced that Margarito's trainer loaded Tony's gloves against Cotto. I'm with Cotto on this though. Loaded or not, those punches were landing and Cotto wasn't doing enough to get out of the way. So Cotto was still beaten, but the question is to what extent did the plaster help Marg's win? We'll find out soon enough.

People tend to exaggerate like ALL of Margarito's power came from the wraps (ASSUMING he had wraps in the first place). But being objective, we don't have a lot of fights to compare Margarito before and after the controversy. The only fights he's had after Mosley was one against Roberto García (who he probably could've stopped but decided not to so as to get some rounds in) and then Pacquiao. He didn't stop or even win a lot of rounds (if any) against Pacquiao, but there were several moments where he either rocked Pacquiao's headback with uppercuts and at one point hurt Pacquiao more than he's probably ever been hurt in the last few years with a body shot. Pacquiao was able to play Cotto's punches off and remain casual (despite later admitting they hurt in the press conference) but Pacquiao could not hide his pain in the sixth round. He was on the run during those last 15-20 seconds and that was a "plaster-less" Margarito. To assume Margarito is now feather-fisted would be a huge mistake. Even if he HAD plaster, it's not like 100% of his knockouts came from the sole fact that he had them, I'm sure he's still a very good brawler with powerful uppercuts that can pressure you constantly. That doesn't fade. I don't see why anyone is quick to say that Margarito's going into the Cotto fight without even a puncher's chance. He has a shot otherwise people would be looking at this fight as if it was Jones, Jr. vs. Hopkins II.
