Samuel Peter doesn't have much confidence left, he was beaten to a pulp and quit on the stool to Vitali. Then Sam Peter was outboxed by Chambers... I don't know why Sam Peters name was brought up at all... They are planning on fighting him? Povetkin should fight Solis instead or is he too much of a threat?
The IBF wanted to pair up Povetkin and Chambers for the IBF interim title. Chambers expects to fight Klitschko next, so apparently the IBF has Peter next in line to face Povetkin, possibly in January.
Can't imagine Peter beating Povetkin though.
Alright, how exactly is it "stupid" to want to see the two best HWs in the world fight each other? The fact that they're brothers actually has nothing to with the appeal as far as I'm concerned.
They could be friends, enemies, cousins, father and son or simply two guys who've never known each other. In the end, they'll both soon own every major HW belt between them, so that alone is enough reason to UNIFY AND HAVE A FUCKING FIGHT.
it's just not realistic, the fact is they are brothers. might as well just deal with them until vitali's gone, then wlad will be the man alone.
You can thank Floyd's boss, Al Haymon. There's an article on yahoo right now blaming Haymon for the current negotiations not materializing. Haymon doesn't appear interested in making the fight. Think I'm joking? I'll link you to it if you doubt me.
And I'm talking about CURRENT negotiations Flowmoes, so don't get all 2010 on me. I'm talking about TODAY. The now. What is important here.
I doubt you. :nana:
Wait is it the WBA interim or the WBC? I could have sworn it was the WBC, but I guess not. Hmmm I wonder if Mijares-Hasegawa afterall.
good catch, i too believe it is WBC..
..but even the best make mistakes
The author must've meant this informative article to be a joke as well. At least I hope so, 'cause I got a kick out of it. As if he were possessed, he connected another low blow? What may have been an obsession got the best of him again? A champion in our hearts? Pretty hilarious!
This suspension by the WBC makes no sense. Wasn't the fight on HBO, so what's wrong with swearing? Was there action taken on David Diaz after he lost his WBC title to Pacquiao, because the f-bombs in that post-fight interview were taken to another level.... I don't recall any suspension there.
McCline win by UD over Valuev? Yeah right. Maybe he got decision wins over guys like Terry Smith or Rob Calloway, but not in a title fight. Barrett had a better chance against Valuev than McCline. McCline is just a big man that loses it when he gets hit. Valuev over McCline by mid-rounds KO.
Didn't Mercer fight a bum?
Mercer beat former UFC champ Tim Sylvia.
However, before that, Mercer was beaten up by Kimbo Slice.
So I guess it's really 1-1
Excellent piece, Jake. My buddies and I were constantly bitching about Atlas from beginning to end. I'm glad someone such as yourself wrote about it. Atlas was horrible.
As for the fight itself, typical boring Klitschko fight, but still gotta give the K bros credit, they are clearly the best heavyweights.
I like both but honestly since boxing started having all those bad decisions...I;m starting to like the UFC more
UFC is producing some bad decisions too!
I smell a hypocrite in Margarito. And this is the guy boxing fans wanted to see Mayweather fight so badly?! Perhaps folks saw how Margarito's last performance against Clottey. Disturbing. Ducking Williams certainly won't help his reputation. Time to step up or step out.
I forgot Holyfield who will probably be getting a title fight after his next fight. And, I guess I also forgot that Brewster kayoed the #1 heavyweight.
Brewster also lost to Charles Shufford and Clifford Etienne. Now that doesn't mean those two guys should be high on the list. Brewster was as lucky to be a champ as Valuev (unless Valuev has drastically improved :D).
they should try to get the fight on regular NBC instead of HBO. after all, in a recent main events press release, kathy duva stressed trying to get quality fights back on regular tv rather than a cable giant like HBO.
