Former WBC junior flyweight champion Omar Nino (27-3, 11KOs) is in talks with Erik Morales to sign with the Mexican legend's promotional company. Sing he retired, Morales has been doing very well as a promoter in Mexico and plans to promote numerous shows in 2009.

Nino feels that signing with Morales will be a good move for his career. He lost a close split decision to Filipino Juanito Rubillar in a WBC eliminator in 2008. He won two bouts since then and wants a rematch with Rubillar in the future.

"To have the support of Erik Morales is great for my career. In February, I have a fight set in Tijuana, maybe for a regional WBA title. Against Juanito Rubillar, a qualifying fight by the WBC, it was my first fight after two years of being away [from the ring]. I lost, but I don't believe that I did. At the very least I deserved a draw.  A lot of people told me that I won the fight," Nino said to ESTO.
