WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev is weeping in Sacramento, because K2 Promotions announced that IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is officially set to defend his title against mandatory challenger Ray Austin on March 10 in Mannheim, Germany.

"Ray Austin is an extremely dangerous and uncomfortable opponent," Ukraine's Klitschko said in a statement from the promoters. "He's very big, has a hard punch and I'm not going to underestimate him."

Maskaev was chasing an April unification bout with Klitschko for the last few weeks, but with Klitschko's recent announcement, he is now backed into a corner with respect to defending the title against WBC mandatory Samuel Peter, the winner of two WBC ordered elimination bouts over James Toney.
