Maybe if he showed half the class out of the ring that he shows inside of it he would be liked a lot more. His boxing ability is respected by most it's just his attitude that's not.
I think Hatton hit the nail on the head and he is very insecure which is why he comes out with all that shit.
Floyd is one of them athletes that needs attention like Terrel Owens or OJ Simpson. Besides, he's paid to be a boxer, not a perfect role model
I got Taylor at a very borderline 10. Cuz i still think that when he's motivated, he can be a very good fighter. Problem is, he's not always motivated.
I've got Pac man as #1 on my P4P list, so i think if JMM beats him, he could get the number 2 spot. But if he dominates him, then he'd get the number. But since Pac will dominate Marquez, i'm not worried about that.
Depends. Some people don't like him because he's got such a bad attitude. Other hate that he's a bad role model for kids (the domestic violence charge). Others don't like the fact he's overrated. There are many reasons not to like Floyd.
You late on this one, but here's my thoughts. Taylor's got some real potential but he only defends himself when he needs to (like when he's against the ropes). He could be a better counter puncher and more alert. But once he gets that killer jab going, it's hard too stop him. Sometimes he's boring to watch because he dances around the ring so much. But i think he's got enough heart to win the rematch.
I think Cotto knocking out the common opponents he has with Floyd has a lot to do with it. Plus, he can cut off the ring, punch hard, pressure fighters, box, and for the most part can take a punch, who wouldn't want to see him in there with Floyd?
agreed. If anything, Cotto is underrated and Mayweather has only beat fading champs either. Judah and De La Hoya and Baldomir? Thoose are his celebrated victories? And when he does face worthy opponents he always just barley beats them. Cotto is more then a worthy opponent and would shut down Mayweather.
Man, what a new and exciting thread!
lmao. Yeah, the topics old, but anyways Cotto would deffinitley beat Floyd. KO him? IDK about that but deffinitley win, maybe a TKO. Why do you think Floyd stays away from Cotto?
i think Taylor is going to win. When he is against the ropes, a bell in his head seems to go off. He fights back, fights harder. If anything Jermain Taylor is, metaphorically speaking, against the ropes. The other reason that Taylor will win is because let me remind you, before Pavlik caught him offgaurd with a LUCKY PUNCH, Taylor was up on the scorecards.
1. Byrd SD Kiltchsko (in their rematch. Byrd is one of my favorite fighter and this loss tarnished his carrer)
2. Jermaine Taylor UD Kelly Pavlik (Taylor is my favorite fighter, and with him up on the scorecards, it kills me to see him get KO'd)
3. Hatton KO Mayweather (Don't take this the wrong way, i like Mayweather. But i'm sick of hearing how he's the greatest when he's afraid of Miguel Cotto. Somebody needs to shut his ass up.)
it's true. this is a fight that would bring not only lots of attention to Floyd, but also lots of cash. Thoose are two things Mayweather cares about the most. Floyd would get crucified and he knows it. That's why he wont take the damn fight.
I got Taylor in an SD. Taylor's got motivation and heart and he was up on the scorecards before Pavlik scored a lucky punch that caught Taylor off gaurd.
Both fighters have a 166 pound limit in the rematch clause as requested by Taylor, that's 6 pounds above the middleweight limit so it can't be sanctioned as a title fight, at least not a middleweight title fight.
Besides whether or not Taylor wins, he was planning on moving up to SMW anyway
don't know if that's the smartest choice for him, but thanks for lettin me know.
I don't think Pavlik will win. Don't forget that Taylor was up on the scorecards and had already knocked Pavlik down before Pavlik hit him with a lucky shot and he got TKO'd. I don't think Pavlik has what it takes to pull off another win. It'll be a good fight.
I do think it would be a realistic matchup, cuz Maywether is all about $$$$ and this would bring lots of it. But it would just be another match-up that Maywether knows he can win. I want to see a match-up where there is no ceartininty Floyd can win, like against Miguel Cotto.
