1984-present? I see it more along the lines of:
1. Marvin Hagler
2. Julio Ceasar Chavez
3. Evander Holyfield
4. Kostya Tszyu
5. Pernell Whitaker
6. Lennox Lewis
7. Bernard Hopkins
8. Oscar De La Hoya
9. Roy Jones, Jr. (lost status because of roids question)
10. James Toney/Shane Mosely/Antonio Marco Barrera
Ray Leonard by 1984 had suffered the eye injury and was beyond his prime. Even though Duran's great defeat of Barkley was in 1989, he also was beyond his prime by 1984. Larry Holmes was also past his prime by 1984. So I excluded SRL, Duran, and Holmes even though they were still active.
your list is a joke
it would be pointless for this to happen, other than the fact that they would make big paydays.. mayweather needs to start fighting the other welter champs, especially cotto
I have never been a fan of Oscar, and his bizarre statement at the end of the fight reminded me why...
"Why didnt u use ur jab more as it seemed it was ur most effective weapon?"...
"Every time i would throw my jab it would snap his head back, but for some reason it wasnt the night of the jab".
WTF??
lol I know. WTF was up with that.
Part of me says that he deserves it. It was a close SD fight. Oscar was on the offensive the whole time, being competitive and had a couple good shots. But he gassed. And he would gas again. There was more than enough time to prepare for the fight, he should have been there to fight all 12. Moreover, he got everything he wanted. Weight class, ring size, gloves. And he fought a guy he had to have like 15 pounds over.
I think you could make a case for a rematch, but it would be overhyped like the last one, and have the same result.
God no! The last fight was boring as hell. Oscar would win if the fight were a 6 rounder, but he sucks in the 2nd half cause he's old and gets tired. Floyd would just do like last time and do barely enough to win and run like hell the rest of the time. Why would we want to watch this again?

DLH is never ever going to be a B fighter, he was an A class amatuer and brought his A game right to the pros, his only losses are to hall of famers of the highest calibre. Not to mention, all his losses were against guys who would eventually become P4P number 1 fighters, De La Hoya is one of the best fighters of this generation easily.
True. However, by the time he got to Floyd, Oscar had lost a step. Young Oscar at from LW through WW would have handled Floyd with relative ease, IMO.
that fight being called a SD is a disgrace to boxing. Mostly everyone had mayweather winning. at 147, mayweather would have just beat De La Hoya worse. When are people gonna relaize ODLH is/was a B rate fighter

Half of DLH's fans don't even realize that he doesen't have a belt. The other half don't really know what his weight class is.
I think people will show up in numbers to see this fight again!
Oscar is the Britney spears of Boxing
I do think it would be a realistic matchup, cuz Maywether is all about $$$$ and this would bring lots of it. But it would just be another match-up that Maywether knows he can win. I want to see a match-up where there is no ceartininty Floyd can win, like against Miguel Cotto.

WTF??
ODH doesn't deserve a rematch?????
He does all of the chasing...gets a split decision against him...many people think he did enough...
Then slag the guy off as though he has had chance, and was shown to be a loser...
A bit harsh..
But I wouldn't pay to see it again...and I really wouldn't give a toss who won.
Top prime boxers need to be in the top fights....enough fighting names to names..
Calzaghe / Hopkins....bollox...Get Palvik in there..
Old fighters making money off of theier names..
And Hopkins asking for 60%...Fook off you twat...
Sorry for changing the topic ..
