Hopefully it's not true.
Because people were bumed out of the May PAc, he's going to give them the finger with a Berto?
I got a strong suspicion that its Brook. BUT the WBA have Berto at #1..........
andre berto is a young lion... he's a hell of a fighter... a good competitor... and i take me hat off to him.
"I don't take no opponent for granted....he got here some how some way"
Thurman has the ability but he doesn't have the belief, as soon as Brook takes on an aggressive stance he'll abandon the pocket, box ineffectively off the back foot and be hunted for however long it lasts.
Or perhaps his doubts are warranted because there's something about his durability/ punch resistance that we don't know.
Why would you put the A-side rising star and KO artist in a huge ring vs a 34 year old gate keeper who was dropped 3 times in his last meaningful fight by a LWW who just moved up?
Fair play to Berto if true, he's the first BKB level fighter to get a shot at Floyd.
I won't watch, but I ain't mad at him either, he does a lot of good charity work and conducts himself well outside the ring.
This fight will only happen once Brook signs with Al.
This is fairly easy work for Brook, so I doubt Al has any intentions of sending Keith off to slaughter, without first being in a win-win situation.
The fact that he put him in with Collazo in a 21ft ring tells you all you need to know about where Keith's at.
What I said is absolutely true. Slim pickings out there. Last big threat was Pacquiao. What's left now are a bunch of up n comers who refuse to fight each other. It's a horrible fight don't get me wrong abd there are better ones. But none of them are must see fights. Guy is retiring with nothing left to prove.
Don't take this as a fan boy accusation but would you call yourself a fan of the sport or a fan of the fighter? because those things you mentioned "nothing left to prove.. legacy etc" are all problems for FMJ to worry about, as a fan of the sport, I'm interested in fights with an element of competition which leads to some uncertainty in the result; it could be 15% with Floyd - Brook, 20% with Floyd - Thurman etc.. not much but I'll take it over Berto's 20-1 shot, because when you remove that competitive element from the equation it goes from being a sport to a show.
Now, if I have a couple of hours spare, and I feel like catching a good show with some boxing in it, I'm gonna go with Creed or possibly South Paw because Floyd-Berto ain't doing it for me.
Bradley is full champion, Mayweather was stripped.
Mayweather was been stripped but no where have I seen Timmey elevated to full champion. WBO website has the WW title vacant.
Nah, if Al gave Collazo a $3m 6 fight contract that would be absurd.
Luis has his McCall moments in the ring. Quitting with a decent shot at the upset on Saturday, hands down man down vs Khan.
Luis would have quit if he was getting $100k, he's just a 34 year old vet who's tired of the fight game.
I don't care who's he's fighting. If its someone decent I'll watch, if not I won't.
I do care that he's holding up all the match making at 147.
No Khan-Thurman, Khan-Porter, Thurman-Porter, Brook-Thurman, Brook-Bradley, Khan-Brook can be entertained until his little "power show" comes to an end.
Thurman moves way too much for a guy with his type of punch. I like him but he wasn't impressive last night and was very fortunate for that ending, which I still don't understand. People keep saying collazo took a beating in the 7th which I didn't see at all.
This.
I'm no Keith hater, I wanna see the kid improve but if your a fan you need to be real about his limitations at elite level he's soon to be mixing in.
Thurman's power and boxing ability is looking increasingly mediocre as he moves side ways in the division, because Collazo isn't a step up from Guerrero.
Forget the body shot, that's not the issue. More troubling for Keith is the fact that his ring IQ and mental intangibles just aren't there, when a guy decides to walk him down he won't set traps, slip and counter, turn them, clinch or go inside, he just goes full blast into excessive defensive movement, as he moves up the levels he'll be going life and death in the late rounds due to wasted energy. It would have been all well and good if he was in there with Chino, Provo, Brook, Porter level guys but he's doing this vs 40 and 34 year old, middle of pack-light punchers.
Amir Khan is definitely not avoiding Kell Brook in particular.
Since Garcia rocked his world he's avoiding anyone with a punch and that just happens to include Kell Brook.
There's not a single chance in 100.
Khan is the definition of a one dimensional fighter flurry reset/flurry reset/flurry reset, and I'm being generous by not cataloging the long list of his other flaws. Mayweather's MO is to find out what his opponent does well and take that away from them.
He can step out pull counter, shell up dip under smother then beat him on the inside, shell up walk him down, high guard feint-draw leads pull counter and so on and so on.
Extremely unlikely. Boxing is the most difficult sport there is and heavy weight is it's least forgiving division, if you're mediocre you won't be losing by points.
It doesn't detract from his achievements in his sport though, the overwhelming majority of elite athletes couldn't execute whilst getting punched in the face, and liver without a team mate or bench in sight.
'' You don't get Kell Brooks name mentioned with the likes of Mayweather , Pacquiao.'' -- Khan. Really? I have heard of these potential matches being considered.
Arum wants Pacquiao Brook.
Porter looked terrible against Brook.
Brook would probably smash him up next time. Brook looked a class above.
That wild-man bull rusher crap actually saved him, if he would have fought at mid-range he would have been even more thoroughly out boxed.
