I believe so. I was thinking about the Mares vs LSC scrap due in a few weeks from now and I can't help but get excited over a possible FOTY candidate, but then I remembered how abysmal PBC's commentators can be. Now I know the commentating cast should be of little importance for what goes on inside the ring but at times the flat commentating could be a real downer.
Personally I would have loved for this fight to be showcased on Shotime but I'll be watching it regardless. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping for a memorable evening of boxing.
Of course it can, and you have to remember the human race is very easily manipulable. People started realizing Manny won the fight after watching the fight again. Now everybody is saying Manny beat Floyd convincingly when I was one of the FEW who said it as soon as the fight was over. Live commentary influences people's perspective on what they are watching.
More stupidity from the king of dumb. Not one credible person or publication has Pac winning. Not then, not now. Live commentary might sway the pea brained idiots (live yourself).
Yes they can, PBC commentators are a good example. They got this old guy that can't even tell which punch is landing while going "ooohhh!! What a punch!" to a sound of a punch getting blocked with the gloves. Then you got ray leonard who's just there to be impressed and to tell us just how impressive the a side fighter is.

Absolutely! Lampley is the king of doing this. Lampley is a great Play By Play announcer but he knows how to push the HBO Agenda. Lampley only call the action for the guy HBO is Backing and he just ignores his opponent. Absolutely this can ruin a good fight!
Why is it so hard to just call it straight down the middle? That is what Commentators are suppose to do not try to influence the Viewers but :dunno:
He's also got chit vision, calls random punches that don't land.
Yes, try watching Mayweather-Cotto again.
Floyd Sr, P-REALA, and Sam Watson would have done a less biased job, I'm 100% serious.
Ugh that was dreadful, Floyd clearly won but the bumlickery ruined watching that replay.
Yep. I can't make it through Bradley vs Provo very easy on rewatch with Jones dick riding Timmy so hard. Or the first batch of fights where Roy didn't bother to learn the fighters names and just talked about god the whole time.

Best example or khan vs peterson. were peterson landed all day and all hbo did was talk about khan right hand
Most definitely. A recent example is Crawford-Dulorme where Dulorme was clearly winning rounds but apparently "he was doing boxing moves" (whatever that means). Very unusual of Kellerman and Roy Jones Jr.

Sure can. I mean, there are some people who actually believe that Khan dominated Algeiri. Hell I still don't see how Khan won.
Lol I had it 8-4 Khan, but if I was willing to watch May/Pac again I might as well watch Khan/Algieri (and May/Cotto) again.
Poor commentating may not affect the fight so much, but the experience. However biased commentary can affect your visual perception. There was a study on how audio affects visual and audible perception - I don't recall all the details, but a clip was played with a voice to go along with a man opening his mouth to make a sound, two different sounds were played on two different clips and finally there was no audio to the video clip and it looked like he said something entirely different. Anyways, yes I do believe commentating can make a big difference, especially when it's biased, but let's just hope that won't be the case.
Yes colonel BOB!
I know the guys has called big fights for years and years, but his dick riding on certain fighters gets too much for me. Ruins the fight.
